  1. INFINITY HALL⁉️ According to your IG link, it's been open for just over a month. And it is conveniently located about two blocks from Lagoa (if the address I saw on one of the IG posts is correct). https://maps.app.goo.gl/7DfjHiiBUaK8VQYg7 This is news to me. Any reconnaissance to report?
  2. Not exactly, but Brasileiros are perpetually horny... so stay in cruising mode. Always scan the situation, stay friendly, (if potential) crank it up to flirtatious, throw in a quick groin glance, adjust your crotch, add some casual touch (and more/longer if they reciprocate)... and you'll be surprised what can happen from time to time. At the rooftop pool at the Hotel Atlântico Copacabana a decade ago, by being insufficiently alert, I almost missed a handsome horny bi young dad whose kids were being watched by mom while he was looking to play and I was the only prospect around. Highlights of my first visit to Salvador were a taxi driver (who just kept the meter running to double his pleasure) and a hot guest from the interior who was staying at my hotel. Surveillance/cruising mode was key.
  3. Puzzling. Python was always packed the three evenings I was there. And the bar was doing nonstop business. The GPs did not seem to be very busy, but I'd think the bar alone would have brought in tons of reals. It was a fairly large property, with even its own enclosed parking lot. So maybe the overhead with rent or mortgage was too high. I wonder if the neighbors were instrumental in Python's closing. The music was played at Brazil's usual absurd deafening levels and destroyed the tranquility of the residential area. Since lowering the volume was apparently inconceivable, maybe the outraged residents collaborated to pressure the authorities to shut it down? Months ago residents started posting plenty of complaints online.
  4. I confess I have never recruited online in Brazil. I have used online in Warsaw ($) recently and (no $) in Taipei, Kuwait, Yangon, Amman, Bali, and a few other miscellaneous places a decade or more ago. In Brazil, I never felt the need to gamble online given so many opportunities to gauge the actual chemistry in person at the amazing saunas -- as well as the occasional Uber/taxi driver, street meet, cinema guy, hotel worker, or flight attendant (once on Azul). I have friends who often hit the jackpot online in Brazil, especially in places where a Brit, Yank, etc. is a bit more of a novelty (e.g, BH, Goiânia). But not me... yet.
  5. Maybe. Confidence is key. But with the few who do counter with a lot more, just smile, say "outro dia," and start to move away. Most will say "OK OK OK." Of course this is all situational factoring in supply and demand, and your intensity of lust.
  6. I was there last month too, but I never asked "their price." Of course they will always go high if you ask. I always state 150 or 200 confidently, and 9 out of 10 do not hesitate to continue walking upstairs.
  7. Going back to your original question. Yes, this is consistent with my info and experience. Wish I could credit the unknown person who made this grid a while back, but I still find it useful.
  8. I was Porto Alegre last July and again in December (first two weeks) and FloridaRob succinctly nails it. But, Sauna Lux varies more from week to week than any GP sauna in Brazil that I know. In December, the hot, young (18-20), northern Italianish GPs from July had vanished. But a new handsome, fresh, eager, untatted, 19yo GP of German descent more than took their place in my daily cabin. One day in December, out of the blue, three or four still handsome guys who worked at Lux back when it was Plataforma (15-20 years ago) showed up. I went with a couple for old time's sake. Thursday seemed to be especially popular. Sunday was surprisingly slow. About 8-12 older local men sit and drink for hours in the smoking area. Many come every night. I do not remember seeing any of them ever going to a cabin. Other local clients arrive, pick their GP, and soon head back to their wives I suppose. The steam room can randomly be quite a scene. One night a few weeks ago before closing, I watched through the steam as a two muscular GP tops sandwiched and pounded a horny twink GP. They all needed badly to get off. I don't think they realized I was there. Yes, sadly, Mezzaninu is absolutely totally gone. One more observation: I like variety and do not need a large selection of GPs from a specific niche (e.g., minimum inches, height, skin shade, BMI, musculature, tats). I think those who do, like most of my more focused friends, are better off sticking with the larger saunas in Rio and SP. But I still like the unpredictable, cozy scene in Porto Alegre where I always have fun.
  9. Brilliant phrase. Just so. Ranges all the way from "WTF was I thinking" to "let's go pick out rings." As well as, "wish he had not turned on that bright light now." Plus, "sorry, no WhatsApp."
  10. Yes, that's his photo (a good one). He is indeed reasonably handsome, but he has a certain gravitas (without being arrogant) that sets him apart. Promotions of his book describe him as a former rentboy. However he had not retired as of July when I was with him at Lagoa. My impression is that he slips in once a week, quickly makes a single hook up for 300 (including gozo), then exits immediately. So it's quite possible to have missed him.
  11. Honestly, I was hoping this might generate some sales with this audience, especially since it's so inexpensive! The young man went to a lot of trouble to do this. I'd feel guilty skimming off the juicy parts just for a few posts here. Maybe I should have waited until the English language version comes out in a month or two.
  12. Update: Goal is to have an English translation on Amazon in the next several months.
  13. He really did it. It was not just a fantasy. The handsome GP at Lagoa was telling me the truth in July when he said he had finished an autobiographical book that would be sold on Amazon by December. It is only $6 on Kindle (Portuguese only): Amazon link. Not very long but I think it qualifies as a book. I just got to the part where he was raped at 12 and thrown out of the house for marijuana at 14. I have not yet read about his interactions with clients! The prose is somewhat florid, but I'm not going to nitpick. Anyway, I thought some of you might find this unusual product worth checking out for a mere $6.
  14. I received a DM from another guy who visits Jeri often and said he had similar experiences. So, yes, maybe the lack of competition and desperate clients allows him to score 800 sometimes. And of course he may just not be into it and figures he needs a premium price to suffer through the indignity! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  15. Yes — United States citizens can legally buy property in Brazil, including apartments, houses, land, and even commercial real estate. Apparently you can't buy rural property especially near the border, but I doubt you were looking for a farm way out in the country. 17. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c33p7vvyp2zo The BBC just reported that the UK Foreign Office now warns of the risk of methanol poisoning from counterfeit or tainted alcoholic drinks in 16 countries: Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Thailand, Laos,Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Fiji, Turkey, Russia, and Japan. After the news we cited above regarding this problem in Brazil, curious that it is conspicuously missing from the UK list. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  18. You are not alone. Agree completely.
  19. Good exercise, good food, good drinks, and great sex! Wonderful to hear you had an excellent upbeat day in Sao Paulo. Me? Along with visiting other countries, I spend a couple of months every winter and a couple of months every summer in various cities and towns in Brazil -- but two weeks maximum in any one place. I have to have variety -- in cities and in saunas. In contrast, I have friends who have lived happily in Rio for a decade and have the same stable of studs year after year. Definitely not for me but good for them.
  20. Sorry you are so very unhappy. But it is wise of you to move and see if you are happier elsewhere -- especially since you are pretty young! My only suggestion is -- just to be sure before making the leap! -- first try living six months (two back to back 90 day stays) as a resident in your top Brazilian locale. (Of course if you have already done something like this, nevermind.) By the way, if you have not already, you might like to check out the forum here dedicated to politics, economics, and so forth: https://www.gayguides.com/forum/5-the-beer-bar/ It can get interesting. Cocoa prices have indeed surged since 2022 and the poor harvests in Ghana and the Ivory Coast. And Investopedia.com says cocoa prices jumped up 30% in December 2024 alone. I hate that too. Anyway, if you do move, good luck🤞 and keep us posted on how it goes.
  21. Envious as I read your casual comment, in passing, that Brazilian condoms are "too tight" for you! 🍆 🌽🌭🍌🥕🥒🥖
  22. Actually, lots of nonstop flights to São Luis.
  23. Easy Azul flight from Fortaleza to São Luis. I did not discover any particularly brilliant places to stay. I liked the high-rise Luzeiros Hotel by the ocean and it was a good value. Ubers were even less expensive than usual in Brazil. São Luis has over a million residents (1.5 million metro) and has several gay saunas. But, as far as I know, only Go63 has GPs. The Go63 website is http://www.go63.com.br/ San Marcos beach is the most popular, but I used my few afternoons to explore the charming colonial old town, the Palácio dos Leões, and museums. The golden age of São Luis was in the 17th and 18th centuries when it was a major Portuguese port. Sadly, Azul (struggling with bankruptcy) cancelled its flights from São Luis to Barreirinhas (the airport near fantastic Lençóis Maranhenses) and to famous beach town Jericoacoara. So adding those great (but sauna free) northeastern sites requires long car/bus rides but totally worth it. Curious footnote: São Luis is considered the raggae (hay'gee!) capitol of Brazil! There is even a little Museum of Raggae in the old town.
  24. I love the Nordeste too and my guys in Fortaleza keep getting better and better -- except for one handsome favorite for several past years who keeps getting fatter and fatter. Last December, I paid for one last time. By June his BMI surpassed mine! Despite his sad puppy eyes, no more trysts. He must have some chasers who adore him. Great Uber Eats story. I also like the Sao Luis GP sauna a lot. Wish that United or some kind of Star Alliance connection flew into the Northeast! Thanks for the great report.
