  1. LOL. I can relate to that. Part of my job involves interpreting conversations in English/Spanish. I always have moments when I speak in English to a Spanish speaker and vice versa. My brain gets lost when I travel to Brazil and try to learn a third tongue. The challenge for me is to understand spoken language. I am capable of understanding several languages when I am reading. Although not proficient, I can express myself in a few tongues. I can navigate with no significant issues in professional conversations, but social settings are very stressful because I get lost in informal language. Me learning an Asian language? It is beyond fantasy.
  2. LOL. Cordell has been in his basement for a long time, probably since the 60s riots. I live in DC.there is plenty of houses in DC and many US cities with iron bars on windows. Step out of your cave, Cordell.
  3. LOL. I genuinely imagine him as Cordell. Horrible inside and outside, profoundly bitter and unhappy. His desperate attempts here are pretty transparent.
  4. He said, looking in the mirror.
  5. I think @TotallyOz may have set a requirement of participation to be able to post without moderation.
  6. Thank you for the reminder. Yes, I was there last November. My flight back to the US departed a few days before mask mandates were reinstated.
  7. I am just double-checking. Someone posted in CoM that you need moderation approval to post in this Politics forum.
  8. I will not forget to renew my Argentinean (Mercosur) passport this summer.
  9. Spring? I will be in Rio in April, the second and third week.
  10. Is that because you know no one would believe that someone finds you likable, not even for money?
  11. I did. I stayed for two weeks, and got sick for about 5 days. On my healthy days I had an amazing time exploring the city and the three local saunas. My reports should be here somewhere.
  12. I've never been to Thermas Barcelona, but according to what you say they follow the same model as bathhouses in NYC. Over there, they have a menu with different admission fees granting you different access levels. You can pay for a fee that grants you a room and a locker for the entire time of your visit. The model in Brazilian saunas is different. They have a flat fee that gives you access to a locker and all the public areas for as long as you stay. The rooms can only be rented for 30' times slots. (about 30, I do not remember exactly) Theoretically, you could keep your key and the establishment would bill you the fee for each time slot with no differential discount. But this is only if the management allows you to keep the keys. I never heard of anyone doing so in Brazil. It is just a different business model that frames different sauna cultures.
  13. Exercising is against my religion... I will be waiting for them down the hill.
  14. Agree. Perhaps closer to 5 on free cabin days, and on regular nights closer to 6.
  15. I never had to wait in a Brazilian sauna on regular days. On free cabin days, I never had to wait more than 30'. I am not sure whether or nor is relevant, but I have never been in Rio during carnival or Christmas/NYE. I did visit Salvador for holidays, over there I never waited in a sauna.
  16. Have you tried Google Fi, guys? I think you have to be residing in the US to get access. It worked quite well in Bogotá, this April I will try it in Rio.
  17. My favorite is My God!, while you are fucking them.
  18. I advise against your first time in a sauna, just because it is not the best option as @riobard pointed above. Instead, I advise using the sauna to interact with several boys and pick one you feel the most comfortable with. You take that one to your airbnb or hotel, and there with time and comfort, you will have a better experience.
  19. This is a prevalent opinion, and the main reason why RD is not in my top five destinations to try.
  20. Americans and their friends have a huge talent to guess (and condemn) other countries' intentions. What do you think is US foreign policies' compass? Peace?
  21. As someone from the Real South 😋, I feel the WaPo piece is straight on point.
  22. We assume the mods over there do not know what they are doing. Time will tell; I may be wrong.
  23. I have already seen this movie, as it's been a few years of participating in both forums. Some posters are banned or stormed out from the other website and come over here to vent their frustration and predict the demise of the snakes' nest. It was the same with Daddy, and it is happening again. Meanwhile, Company of Men seems healthy and thriving. There are posts every few minutes, sometimes several posts at once. Those who participated in the Politics forum feel like the place is dead, but it is only us, a tiny little minority.
  24. "suggests" is not the right word. It clearly and unequivocally states so.
