  1. Last Saturday I spent about 6 hours with one of the boys I met at Clube 11. He was my first guest to this airbnb. I learned we have a very liberal guests policy here: if they do not stay overnight, they do not even need to show their ID. Besides his charm, my guest brought me some weed, so I have been extra happy since then. We had lunch on a locals oriented restaurant, and I had my first try of escondidinhos de carne. I enjoyed it, but it seemed like the poverty version of Sheppard pie. He wanted to go to the sauna at 4pm, to be early-hunting clients during the big anniversary party (20 years). I said hell no, called him an Uber, and laid down to resuscitate after our smoking hot working out. I arrived to the party at 7. For the first time, there was a line. Not only that, they had ran out of lockers. If you wanted to use the saunas, instead of lockers they would provide you with a big plastic bag to put your stuff away. Then you would return the bag to the reception desk, they would label it with your sauna ID number, and would save it for you in a big pile. The line was very slow, but I finally made it. They had added a few extra fancy looking decorations (silver looking shapes, all in the Bahiano African fusion style), and filled the mezzanine and the entire bar with long common tables with white tablecloths. It reminded me of what I saw during my first visit in Natal and Reveillon. All the beaches covered by long white communal tables. Well, the entire sauna looked like that. It was so full that it was difficult to circulate. I was able to put up with it (I do not like tight crowds) for 90 minutes, and around 8:45 was in my Uber back home. I missed the special show, but it looked like it was going to be another drag queen lip singing performance. The day before, I had seen an unusual performance. After a regular drag queen, a man all dress in white with Umbanda cloths, performed a nice ritualistic choreography. I was curious about the new show, but I was not enjoying being pushed and squeezed, and not being able to move around. And of course, no free seatings available. On Sunday was the local pride parade. At noon, I went to the gathering area between Farol and Porto da Barra. They built a stage by the Farol, and parked all the Trios from there to Porto. At noon, no one was there, so I killed the time enjoying the view far from the gathering are. When I came back around 2pm the thing was starting to get populated. IMG_7495.mov By 3 pm it was starting to look really good. The energy was great, the crowd was one of the most diverse ones I've ever seen. I am not talking only about race. There were many women and children. The theme for these year was celebrating the older queers like myself, and we were many. IMG_7508.MOV By 4 pm the Trios, that had been just warming up with loud music, turned the already loud level to Supercalifragilistic loud, and I became this guy: My eardrums were hurting and my internal organs twerking. Get me the heck out of here. The parade was supposed to start at 3, it was 4, I had been walking under the sun for 6 hours, and it looked like we were going to be there getting more crowded and louder by the minute. Time to retreat. I went back to my nest. About 6 pm, the Trios startied to arrive to Avenida Oceánica near my airbnb. I was two and a half blocks away, and the music was so loud that I was not able to mute it not even with my noise canceling headsets, the one that mute the plane engine when I am flying. So I tried to see what I could from my balcony, which was not much. IMG_7514.mov Lesson learned for next time, because there will be another time. Take earplugs with me, and secure a location out of the street with a closer view to the parade. I should have booked a table in one of the restaurants with a terrace in the parade trajectory. The noise lasted up to 9pm, after the last of the trios passed by in its way to Ondina. There was an after parade party at Zoom, but after my experience at Clube 11 the night before, I did not even try. No more lines and tight crowds for me. Today I was going to go to the beach with my boy, but it is rainy and not nice for that plan, it is postponed for tomorrow. This is good for my knee, I did a lot of walking yesterday with no issues but on flat land. Tomorrow the beach will be also relaxing, and the following they I think I will be ready to head back to the ups and downs of this city. No much sex in this post. I have talked to a lot of boys, but having programas with only three of them.
  2. I am almost 63, my friend. And I have seen clients of all ages. Do not forget, what turns on GPs is not your looks, but your kind and respectful manners, your good higiene, and your generosity. By the way. I just came back from another great night. It is my second Friday, and today was better than last week. Tomorrow I will be hosting my favorite one in my place, and he is bringing maconha. I have not smoked since I left Rio!
  3. That is hot! I am two tired and old for a foursome but I am jealous! I am taking them one by one, and they all are adorable and very hard workers in bed! I know Sauna Fox. I went there during my first visit in 2017, but everyone is telling me that the place went down and I do not feel the motivation for the long trip when Clube 11 provide so much joy at 15' of my nest. But who knows? I will be here for a month, I may get bored at Clube 11 and find the motivation to go to Fox. I am not sure if sex will happen in Praia Porto da Barra at night this Sunday, because that is actually the starting point for the parade. It actually ends in Ondina. I will see. Thanks for the good wishes about my knee. Yesterday I stayed home, and today, and right now it is feeling much better. I think I am ready to climb the stairs at Clube 11 tonight!
  4. https://sopla.substack.com/p/clube-11-566 I am having a great time here. Check my report on the sauna above. It is just my first week, my only doubt is whether I will love Clube 11 after a month. Everything depends on the turn around of boys. It looks like the standard price here is 100R for a full service programa. I am offering 150 and the boys are treating me like a Queen. I am surprised all the boys I talked to (about 10) are openly versatile. Back in 2017, when I visited for the first time, that was not the case. And when you meet Bahianos in Rio, they are always only top (at the beginning). I am gladly impressed by this change. The sauna is celebrating its 20th anniversary week, a big party is planned for this Saturday. This coming Sunday is the local gay pride parade, from Praia do Porto da Barra down to Ondinas. I will probably be there if the crowd is not overwhelming (I do not like to be squeezed). I guess I could keep my distance from the most heavy crowded sections of the parade. If I feel safe pulling out my camera (I think I will), I will get nice pictures. There is an after parade party at Zoom, so I will probably go there for the first time. The city and the people are fantastic. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. However, I do not think I would like to live here. I hate walking up and down all these hills. Today I took a day off to rest, my right knee is killing me (I had a surgery 10yeas ago). Besides that, poverty is too ubiquitous and too many buildings, often beautiful ones, are falling in pieces. I went to the Museu de Arte Moderna de Bahía and saw some very appealing artwork, but everything would look so much better with more investment. After my visit there, I attempted to walk south to get to the Museu de Arte, but my knee forced me to call an Uber to go back home to put some ice on it without reaching my intended destination. Before taking the Uber, I walk through a path between the highway and the favela you see bellow in the picture. There were homeless people living on the path, they could not even afford the favela. They smelled horrible and looked like corpses, malnutrition and heavy drugs. It made me very sad, so much misery in such a beautiful natural scenery.
  5. I never tried 32, but 20oz are not a challenge for me.
  6. Unjustifiable act, indeed. Any political assassination should be condemned, beyond political signs of victims and murderes. That said, and talking about poetic irony:
  7. Sólo con la foto se me hizo agua la boca.
  8. Contramano! I hooked up so many times there when I was in my 30s! Back then it was full of escorts and seekers for sugar daddies that I would hooked up with for free, as I was relatively young and hot. Since I switched my biological clock to DC culture, I have not been able to enjoy Buenos Aires gay night. When it starts, I am already deeply slept. However, the local times are perfect for a self-declared vampire as you. I am appalled that you did not like bife de chorizo, which is my favorite meat cut. I guess you chose a terrible restaurant, it is usually good and tender even at mediocre establishments.
  9. Oman, Saudi Arabia? I guess this is a list for straight male Muslim expats.
  10. I will be in Medellin from November 6th to December 15th. Are you going to be around? This will be my first time staying near Poblado, very close to the Museo de Arte Moderno.
  11. Yep. He has partners who prefer to remind backstage. I do not think that fact takes away any personal merit from his personal story.
  12. I agree with your comments about Praia da Porto da Barra, I had a great time there 7 years ago. I did not stop over there yet (just passed by) but perhaps I go to the beach tomorrow. I went to Clube 11 yesterday and Friday, today I am taking a break to rest. Next weekend is the local pride parade, right in my neighborhood. I did not plan my visit around it, it iOS just a happy coincidence! I've been walking around, and it is hard not to get hard with so many hot men of all ages.
  13. I only use cash to pay the boys. Everything else is paid for CC. In 7 years of doing this intensively everywhere, not only in Brazil, I never had an issue. My first issue was in this trip, but not with my CC but with my Debit Card. I was in Rio, but I do not know whether the scammer got my data while I was there or before, when I was in Argentina or the US. I found a debit from my checking account for almost 300 bucks, booking an hotel in Japan. I called my bank and filed a claim, they told me that it may take 90 days to solve the claim. My card was immediately invalidated and my bank sent me in 48 hours a new DC to my Airbnb.
  14. I went last night to Clube 11. The crowd was OK, but I was disappointed because it was not better than Friday. I saw only one GP that I had not seen before. However, I will try again next Saturday. Yesterday was the final for the state soccer championship, and Bahía played and won. Everyone I talked to told me that without that game I would have seen more boys and more clients.
  15. IDK, I am not looking for that.
  16. I arrived yesterday night, but I was too tired to go out. Today, I went to Clube 11 and I loved it. They refreshed the installation since my first visit back in 2017/18, and the place is clean, well maintained, with four very nice suites with bathroom and hot showers. They have more rooms but I did not try them. One of the boys I hired confirmed what the friend @Peter Parker reported above: Sauna Fox has gone down, with installations not well kept and with few clients and garotos. As I am sick of long Uber trips after my Recreio dos Bandeirantes staying, I will not go to Fox. I went to Clube 11 about 5:30, and it was well populated with garrotos but not so much with clients. About 6/6:30 it looked much better, with more boys and more clients. My first boy was cute, but it was early and I would have not picked him. He picked me, and seduced me with his charm. 22 y.o., with HS and one year of college. He reads Paulo Coelho! My first GP well educated, I think. We chatted for about one hour before going to a suite, and his performance was excellent. When we were going to the suite, a hottie intercepted and tried to convince me to do a threesome. Instead, I finished with my first boy and then hired him. Both of them fully versatile, both of them came with my dick inside. I was surprised, my first experience with baianos had been not so good when they had to bottom. These two guys were impecable. Both of them recommended me to go tomorrow Saturday and on Wednesday, when they have a Bingo night that they say makes it the most popular day in the week. For sure I will go tomorrow, I am hoping for a third boy I did nit have energy to hire today. I am three blocks away from Zoom, but I do not know when I will stop by there. This is a very good beginning.
  17. I agree with that 100%. But is has nothing to do with nationality but with poverty.
  18. Things seem to be changing in the saunas scene in Rio. Last Wednesday I had a great time as usual at Point. However, what is surprising to me is how much I like 117 on Tuesday. Check this post: https://sopla.substack.com/p/point-202-vs-clube-117-whos-on-top
  19. I suffered a couple of extortions attempts in the US, by American escorts, and once I was robbed by a guy I picked up from a bar in Washington DC. I never had an issue in Brazil, other than GPs begging for money through WhatsApp, or asking me not in a nice way to put down photos I published of them.
  20. I just checked Zoom in Google Maps. My Airbnb is going to be just a couple of blocks away.
  21. Thank you, so much! This report is super useful!
  22. Tomorrow I am leaving Rio and settling in Salvador for a month. I will be staying in Barra. This would be my second visit, my first one was before the pandemic. I understand Clube 11 and Sauna Fox are the two GP saunas still working. Questions for whoever has updated info: are there other saunas? What are the best days and times to enjoy these two establishments? Obrigado!
  23. Question to the friends settling in SE Asia. Do you actually mingle with the locals and the local culture? Do you learn the language? Or instead you live inside a community of Westerner expats?
  24. It is a virtuous circle. Then, that cash is used to pay for other programas. Nature is so wise.
