The thing with rates is: if it’s a low rate I normally don’t trust the guy. I feel that I must be on my wits more than usual. When a guy quotes DOP 3000 or over usually it comes out overpriced. In my experience they can look fantastic (muscled, tall, handsome and hung) but they are terrible in bed, can’t get hard and don’t cumm. It’s not always the case, but it’s the rule I fly by. Fun anekdote: the hot, ripped stud quoted me 200 US dollar. I declined. He instantly dropped to an avatar DOP 2500 (50 USD) after which he asked for 70 dollars. I blocked the guy. He was bullshitting too much. in short: DOP 1000 (low side; be vigilant) - DOP 3000+ (high-end, be suspicious)

Also if you are ok with looking a bit further out in Santo Domingo, or even next town, there are some winners to be ‘flown in’. I’m waiting on a 6f2 hung stud who was so eager, he arranges his own transportation from the airport area. Surly he is happy to please me for the standard tip I give him. Even tho I’m a fan of Santo Domingo, where the hung boys are a plenty, I have to inform you about Boca Chica. Because my God, what a total dump this place is. Boca Chica is the ‘go to’ beach resort you go to from Santo Domingo if you like a beach break. They should rename this shithole into ‘Junkyard Beach’. The streets, the ally’s and yes the beach and water are completely littered with (plastic) garbage. The whole area is simply a pile of waste. On top of that you get hassled by street vendors with every step you take. I mean, I’ve been around. Traveled to many (less developed) countries. But this place is like fucking Monrovia, Africa during the Sierra Leonian civil war! It’s too much shit. After dark the female prostitutes come out to give an extra kick to the place. More of a kick in the nutsack if you ask me. So at night your strolling around through a gone to waste junkyard city filled with litter and dirty hoes. At the beach they rip you a new asshole every time they present the bill. You start of with a (overpriced) 200 peso beer and 450 pesos snack, but hey…you’re at the beach enjoying people watching. You and up with a 1500 pesos bill because of taxes (shitty, but normal), service charge and a fucking ‘table charge’ because you use the table as 1 person (eventho the rest of the tables are empty). Yes, I hooked up with hot guys and checked out the local love motel for a trio (since my hotel was strictly no visitors). But that prime meat can easily be found in Santo Doming or be taxied in from here. So: Bocha Chica? Fuck it. Skip it. Special note to my locally stumbled upon US friends (and forum readers): you guys are awesome. Thanks for the laughs! Jeeeeeez😱 I am shocked! Heading off to Santo Domingo again next week for a 3 week stay. I do use grindr....however I stick to a strict safety protocol. Up till now never had any problems. But Marlow is a great great guy, with a heart in the right place. I take his warning seriously.

I have had perfectly helpful information on several destinations through private messages from forum members (that said, I don't ask for referrals because we all have our own taste in boys. Maybe @Half-vaccinated is very direct/strong in making his point, but he has a point. I agree with him: 3000 - 4000 DOP is waaaaay overpriced. In Juan BinBin 1000-1500 is what you need. As do (grindr- and street-)boys that come to your apartment. DOP 2000 is for reaaaaal cuties, hung or fit guys; 2500/3500 are your ultimate Instagram models which are rare to visit you. At Marlow's a standard 1000 is quoted. Other prices and services are not scams; they are just smart business opportunities from the one's who offer it. Some ignorant tourists pay up whit out questions. Stay smart.

I always send for an Uber! Never thought of these scams as described by you @Half-vaccinated. I use my credit card connected to the app. So no cash. Does that make a different? And the ride from A to B is registered, so any deviations (eg. going to another city) can be contested in the Uber app. But I definitely see your point: a boy can take an Uber from bloody Santo Doming to Punta Cana! But can he.... I did send Ubers frequently. This ensures me the boy shows up, I can see his ETA and I can monitor the progression of the ride. I recon that, -if you would send an Uber- you fill out the pick-up point and your address as destination right? As I do. All registered in the app. I have never had any problems sending an Uber in Sto. Domingo, your points however make me reconsider!! Staying in the Zona Colonial I've never experiences bad Ubers: they showed up, were friendly and did the job as you expect. Even when driving me out or into the Zona Colonial. Shitty drivers, sure, but Uber as Uber should be. Were you scammed as described? I am in doubt now....

Wooow, I am shocked by what I read!! Over the years this forum and its members provided me a lot of info on several places I like to visit for my private adventures. I have even made friends here with forum members who I've met in real life. Sharing stories. Sharing adventures. @SlvkguyI'm reading your report with great interest since I'll stay a week in Sao Paulo from may 25th onwards. I'll be in the República area which safety wise seems 'ok' during the day, but is warned for after dark. Any experiences in that area?

Cartagena is definitely worth a visit longer then 'just a weekend' depending of your plans of course. As far as I understand, most forum members like a place to wonder around and discover as well as finding potential prospects for their sexcapades. The colonial city, founded in 1533, is a time travel tour into history. It takes you back to the times when Spain, Portugal and The Netherlands were competing for navel and colonial dominance. As a dutchie I was surprised that he San Felipe fort actually is designed by the Spanish after the state of the art Dutch defense works in those days. The city is amazingly picturesque and inviting to stroll through, have a coffee, lunch or cocktails. Foto opportunities on every corner. And a lot of eye candy for the queer eyes. The beaches of Playa blanca are one hour away by Uber. Nice for a day trip. They also offer tours there, but personnaly I don't like to be stuck on one of those. I rather follow my own agenda. You can take a guy here; he'll love it. The playa itself is quite packed, crowded and commercialized. But Colombians love it. One can also easily hop one a boat to Isla de Tierra Bomba, across from the Bocagrande peninsula. Boats leave from the beach behind the Nuevo Hospital de Bocagrande. No sauna's in Cartagena! But there is a loooot of street cruising. Also the shopping malls adjacent to the old centre are playing ground for those activities. All AYOR, so prepare yourself for these adventures. There are quite a few short time hotels in the old city centre, that can be a safe(r) option for a quickie. Grindr is popular; the 50/50 rate on pay and regular as described above seems pretty accurate to me. There are a few bars and clubs that are gay or are openminded. But, Like Medellín (Poblado, Parque Lleras) the guys that are, out of the blue, very attentive to you are mostly commercial guys. The average Juan normally goes out in a group of friends. The times I visited Cartagena there was always the change to arrange sex, anywhere, any hour of the day. So don't be afraid you'll miss out! Bedside that there is enough to do, see and enjoy!

@SlvkguyI think I DO agree with you. In principal at least. Haggling about 10 or 20 dollars is nasty... And what happens when one is happy with his 5 dollar lower rate? He'll end up with a shitty date, haha! I was more aiming at these 60-100 dollar rates, where a normal rate would be 20-40. On top of that fixer fees. Wast of money imo. @Riobardor should I say...Professor Riobard! Wow, what a mathematical break down of price elasticity :-)!!!. You are right: it's an open, moving market, there is'nt a 'standard' rate. Maybe a 'common rate' is a better phrase. Simply a shout out to my respected forum members: don't get screwed (outside the bed room that is) love!

Dear USA travelers, please don’t screw up the local market by overpaying for those special services we all like so much! Yes, I’m addressing you guys, because you turn out to be the most oblivious when it comes to recognizing when you are getting ripped off. I’ve seen it all over the globe. Hell, I’ve met boys who joked about it when we were talking rates: ‘oh sorry, I thought you were American. No worry, this is my normal rate’ Been to Santo Domingo few times, never used a middle man. Save your money. Don’t get overcharged. 60-100usd is waaaaay too much imo. Get your guy directly. Grindr. Street. Bar. What ever. Simple rules: - no cédula, no date. Make a photo. Mail it to yourself so you file it in your inbox - make sure that all your important valuables are in a hidden (travel)safe. Only carry a boy-fee and some pocket money - keep your phone with you, or in sight. Take it in the shower also. - listen to your inner gut feeling: too good to be true? Don’t do it. Sketchy guy? Leave it. Feels all right? Go dot it. I had some big dicked muscle studs plowed me passionately with no issues at all. Hell, some of those became regulars. basic rules keep your mind at ease and your surrounding acceptably safe. maybe its that sense middlemen provide super models? Meh, I don’t know about that. enjoy!

Thanks for the replies! So many already, love it! There are multiple options in the area: cine republica, cine arouche, cabinas, dedalos bar. I already pinned my google map 🙂 ....uffff where to go, what to do!?!!? I also like the old fashion street cruising and eye candy spotting. That sensation during interaction, it's great. Praça Republica is the place to practice cruising. Supposedly quite some hustlers. Yes, it has a definite AYOR level: I would never take a street guy home, rather a short time hotel in the vicinity and I would never walk there at night. I've cruised Bogota, Medellin and even Santo Domingo, so I think I can be cool enough to keep my whits about. Those cinemas are true sleaze pits.....I love to check them out hahaha. Dear Forum friends, waving covid goodbye, seeing it go around the corner (and hopefully stay there) I planned my 'Tour de Slut' to Brazil arriving end of May. I'll be in Sao Paulo from 25th of May onwards and Rio de Janeiro from June 2nd - June 10th. An adventures slutface as I am, I stay next to the Praça República in SP and Ipanema in Rio. SP is my first, so I am eager to scout the República and Lago de Arouche area, as well the infamous Lagoa and Club555. Any short time motels in the República area known to you? One never knows what to come across in the parc... If any forum members are in those cities on said dates, feel free to hit me up and meet for coffee and/or drinks! I did my research and I'd consider myself a seasoned traveller, however I am open to tips, advise, warnings etc.
