I am halfway through several weeks in Mérida, Yucatán, MX. There have been many contributions, with interesting divergences in viewpoints, from several members about this area. I suggest to any Yucatecan virgins that they see for themselves, tossing themselves down the pit for a look and personal impressions. This is my final post and view in the topic on this new page. I am peacetime, armistice-minded lately. However, if a few of you wish an extended report, PM me briefly with your interest. I will receive a gmail notification and your short or abridged message. I will take the time to pull something together at the end, albeit amateurish, for a non-controversial group share/chat.

A thousand pardons, badboy ... I am tying up my loose thread here, shutting down my part in taking troll-bait. As you know, there are those with endless staying power. On balance, I would/should poke my eyes out with a stick if I really had the same stamina.

I can fly direct from Montreal, being islands français and what not. Gorgeous locales, Guad and StM. Champagne without the high tariffs when I was there. Not a sex destination. But those Québecois Haitians! One fellow an all-time 40-year best.

Latbear4blk, I have tackled your pinga blog a couple 'o' times!

Kkkkkk ... now I know what Clear Editor means here on the Board, rainmvan. If I could just figure out how to get it to function for overly ambitious spectral editors.

There are several transportation options, aren't there? Now they are pretty much outlined here. I am not saying "do what I would do". In fact, don't. If you do catch me saying "Do this", please do protest. I took taxis there previously for longer distances. I walked from Pelhourinho lodgings up a grade and down to 11 during last light but not after dark. [Insert 1st critique here]. Now I have the Über app and a Metro map for future elective use. I do not mind quiet contemplation getting from A to B, or reading a few pages of a book, easily done on the tube. I do admittedly enjoy senior public transport privileges non-existent at home, but I do not have a nutty relationship to money either. I do think that I spent a bit much on that 4-week trip 3 years back, 5-figures CDN. Five of the days in Salvador. Now a little more conservationist, or at least saving a bit here and there is psychologically soothing if not otherwise economically meaningful. I don't need to get into a cock-fight (current Mérida YUCATAN neighbour has 4 fighting roosters, get to work that in here) about how to travel ... the additional general points made here are not new, repeated a lot perhaps due to so many decision variables. In fact, I had described the Metro option months ago and I am myself culpable in relation to repetition. I don't have an anxiety disorder related to getting to a whorehouse a few minutes later , since being somewhat of a fatalist and leaning towards lurking, and the OP stated his preference for not getting too tangential or nit-picky, which now I am snubbing according to our predominant tribal customs, within which I have moderate commitment for fitting. But sufficiently insufficient to follow this very fascinating thread further while a glorious tropical Sunday beckons, offering respite from blizzards at home. Suum cuique.

In Sao Paulo During Carnival
Riobard replied to alwaysrio's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Kkkkk ... I think many readers will see that as a typo for Ass Wednesday. Interesting question. I thought that following Shrove Tues and the commencement of Lent, Carnaval was 'never say die' ... I believe that one year I arrived early in Lent and there was more in terms of residual festivities still going strong compared to penitents in sackcloth. -
I am phoning in a small tip ... From Barra area, Metro can work reasonably well to get to Fox. Embark Lapa stn, disembark Rodoviaria stn, not to be confused with Rodoviaria-Iguatemi bus stn (not Metro). Then it's hoofing, cabbing, or Übering the 1.9 kms s/e to Fox. Saves a lot on ride fare or time on bus routes. Actually, the north subway route from Lapa takes you one stop to Campo da Polvora stn, a few blocks and few minutes walk to Clube 11. I learned all this following my trip there, so hope one day to try out these transport options, including possibly getting into town from the airport via Metro.

BEAT DOWN IN SANTO DOMINGO, DR
Riobard replied to BlkSuperman's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Am I correct that photos #2 and #3 were both fellows sourced from the referenced contact Manny? I was not sure, as many guys were mentioned in this excellent account. What a great resource. How does one reward Manny for his brokering? Maybe he is simply magnanimous but I would want to give him something for his efforts. A gift? Or does he provide other services? I would be new to Santo Domingo and would take him up on some initial guiding if available. ------ OK, I found the "Sizzling" thread commenced early Dec, so the 2nd part of my question above is covered, thanks. Unless there is an update. Finder's fee for vetted guys, all of which look to be my type, makes good sense to me. -
I have not been to Asia. Prostitute muscle = sex. Stripper muscle = some level of sexual play. I understand built guys are hit-and-miss in the Bangkok clubs. I am sure you can find Thai physique fellows in social media but that is a long game requiring time, money, and risk ... you might be able to extract sexual favours if you deposit generously into a competitors expense go-fund-me. If you yourself go to the gym, irrespective of physical shape, sometimes asking a guy to meet and train you locally is an entry point. That said, they are more on the hunt for gear and nutrition sponsorships, not so much benefactors swooning over them. We both suffer from pursuit of the elusive. I have only been with one ethnic Asian in my lifetime. A big gorgeous 100% Japanese brasileiro traditional martial arts garoto at Lagoa who gave it all up. So freakin' hot. And a macho built Japanese-Caucasian admixtured powertop with shocked-dyed blonde hair at 117. Sadly, that one occurred prior to wising up and obtaining contact info. Never spotted him again.

I think we previously discussed that actual competitions are not likely going to yield trade. The bodybuilding and physique fitness competitors are busy, stressed, dehydrated, caught up in their routines, and tied up with their coaching teams and the like. You are not going to mingle without an official role and name badge. They are under the microscope at these events. There are no major Asian continent IFBB or Musclemania events in Thailand this year. You would have to drill down and research country-specific competitions or regional qualifiers. thaibody.com is one lead but may not be up to date and may tend to report after-the-fact. It is a vastly growing sport and different federations springing up, so difficult to keep up. Another lead:

Sorry, you are correct, I meant the private curtained areas at GEH (Bogotá). Thanks for the info and the reconnaissance. I think it makes sense for me to pay a dancer directly in cash. In Mexico City I found it complicated when everything had to go on a runnng tab (or even in Colombia if you pay by credit as-you-go to the dancer). In Mexico City there were squadrons of staff in your face along with the dancer to make sure everyone got their cut ... annoying. In NYC in some places you pay a fee to enter the private area, each time you take a dancer in. Canada is the simplest and fairest to the dancers. It appears that in Colombia that model can apply. At Theatron I would likely tend to slip a generous tip and note to a go-go I like when he is not actually on stage. The joke is that that gratuity would likely be astronomical by their standards. I understand the Bogotá climate is quite cool even in March the warmest month. It appears that Medellin-bound from Bogotá the plane has to begin its descent almost as soon as it reaches cruising altitude.

You mentioned "card" for tips. I assume this also means that a private dance sequence is also put on your tab? What are the details of the tab procedure? I do not comprehend whether you pay as you go for drinks and dances, like strip clubs North America, or they track your drinks and private dances for final payment when you leave, like the spa brothels in Brazil (except in Brazil you pay cash to your trick). But at Theatron, if there is "negotiation" with the dancer how does the agreed fee get transmitted to the house staff for the overall club tab. Please walk us through how to prepare for the adventure with cash and/or credit in hand.

Vietnam, quick note on my last visit to Hanoi. And I’m going back
Riobard replied to endlessdream's topic in Gay Asia
My guess is paper notes with contact info. -
The ad indicates Friday 18th but, yeah, it makes sense it is longer. I am curious if it is an all-inclusive fixed price. Might have been my cup of tea circa 1979. One thing that irks me is that they use the same Facebook profile name in their ads, but that page is outdated 5 years, maintains the incorrect address, and even a recent visitor post does not correct the location. How hard can it be for management to fix this? Does not inspire one to expect solid orgy-anization skills for a pop-up Bacchanalian retreat.

Never been to Colombia. Researching for upcoming trip. I plan to get by with translate app and a few key language basics. That worked well in Brazil prior to upticking my Portuguese, but the clubs there with commercial sex workers may be more structured and with more staff to keep things under control. I do not know the rates of bilingualism in Colombia.

True Detective - Season 3
Riobard replied to TotallyOz's topic in Theater, Movies, Art and Literature
Dorff is underused. Made somewhat of a comeback in the excellent film Somewhere (2010) but that movie did not get a whole lot of attention. Glad to see him dusted off, a good fit for True Detective. -
Some searches (eg FB) yield a previous (incorrect) address for Fercho. Tartegogo also provided the correct location in the listings here. It is #24 on Cra 43 (aka Carrera Girardot) just north of Cl 54 (aka Calle Caracas). Or Cra 43 #54-24. The building numbers there characteristically have a prefix designating the cross street. By rights there should be a hyphen after the prefix, some buildings do and others don't, but everyone there knows the system.

That explains why screaming queens are among the healthiest mentally.

No, just Brazil several times past several years. Frankly, Bogotá is the priority so I am glad to hear you're having a hoot. I prefer to spread out various city visits over multiple travels if I take a shine to the country itself. Rather than tiring myself out getting to all the worthwhile places in one go, I can get to Bogotá in 10 hours from my front door and go straight to an evening venue for fun. In contrast, 14 hours from my house to Thermas Barcelona jet-lagged action; 25--30 hours from my house to Rio brothel action Be sure to report, if possible, on Gigolo Erotic House upstairs from Banos St. Moritz. I wonder if it is the same group of providers that migrates from the sauna up to the club later in the day.

He sent me a couple of promising photos, including the Theatron guy. Enough to support a side-trip when I book Bogota.
