  1. Maybe someone is familiar with the med and could share their experience with it?
  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabapentin This is the med my doctor prescribed for my foot pain - a burning sensation. This pain is different than the usual diabetic foot pain. I take three per day. I have 90 tablets. The doctor said it may take a week to work. When I went to the ER it was because of this foot pain. I told them several times but they ignored it. The ER doctor did give a prescription for the pneumonia he saw on my lungs Azthromycin , And he prescribed a substitute for Ibuprofen called Acetaminophen.
  3. Thanks numerito!
  4. Thanks!
  5. I was watching the recent episode of "Deal or No Deal". The contestant was a middle aged gay man. His husband was there and they were wearing identical outfits. Pictures were shown of them wearing other identical outfits. In fact the couple greatly resembled each other. One scene the ladies with the briefcases disappeared and when they returned they had on the very same outfits the contestant and his husband were wearing. White slacks and checkered sweater.
  6. I had not been outside my apartment since April of last year - I fell in the parking lot and the rescue squad got me back inside. But then I went to the ER day-before-yesterday. The ER doctor mentioned getting home health care. But my doctor would need to approve it and he would need to see me hence his visit today. I last saw him in March last year. He told me that he thought that I'd be alot worse off when he saw me today. But he was honest with me that I'll probably be going into a nursing home before the end of the year. It has been getting harder and harder to get around even with the walker. I have a bad right leg. I've had cellulitis in it several times; I was hospitalized twice for it. But now I have a "leaky leg". I've had it for months. It itches and I've been scratching sometimes so much that it bleeds. He said that could cause an infection. I do have an ointment to rub on it. The reason I went to the ER was because of the foot pain. Like walking on gravel; burning sensation. Different from the diabetic toe pain. The pill I take for that will not help with this other. This new problem only came about a week ago.. So he's giving me another prescription. My doctor isn't sure what home health care could do for me except maybe check up on my "leaky leg". But he is going to consult with the ER doctor who recommended it. My doctor said that he'll return in two weeks.

  8. I got evicted from another group for posting too much. I want to play it safe here. Else I'd be posting dozens of new topics.
  9. Thank-you! Ignoring problems like I have been doing does not make them go away.
  10. This particular forum is not the place for politics.

  14. Background: I have arthritis in both knees; surgery not an option. Diagnosis was @10 years ago. Gradually getting worse. I would go out once a week to start my car. Last April I fell in the parking lot. Someone saw me and called the rescue squad. I now have Life Alert. I had not been outside my apartment until today. Last week I fell getting into bed; the rescue squad got me up. When I've fallen I was never hurt only black and blue. But I have since been afraid to sleep in my bed. I sleep in my chair in the living room. 5 or 6 days ago when I walk - I use a walker - the soles of my feet felt like I was walking on gravel. Painful! So this morning I had the ambulance take me to the ER and they also brought me home. I was gone @10 hours - 6AM to 4PM. Once there it was 4 hours until I was seen by the doctor but they had me in an exam room. I had blood drawn, an ultrasound, x-rays. Spots on my lungs. Doctor said pneumonia. Doctor gave me a couple of prescriptions. Hopefully that will help with the pain.
  15. Thank-you numerito.
  16. Many years ago I used to attend the Dignity mass. It was held once a month in the afternoon. The drive was @50 miles away. But I like smells and bells. This was back in the days of the indult mass where one had to get special permission from Rome to celebrate the old Latin mass. It was celebrated in the same town; different parish of course and in the morning.. So I'd get up early on Dignity mass Sunday and go the Latin mass first. Two masses in one day! The Dignity mass was everything one would expect. Afterward some of us would go out to dinner together. I will be no hypocrite though. I stopped receiving communion long ago.
