  1. In the case of male to female gender transition can the person lose their "Adam's Apple"?
  2. There is a second tier gay male couple in it this season.
  3. Everyone knows that Jim Nabors was gay but so too was the actor that played Corporal Boyle on the show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Stuart_(actor)
  4. I eat lunch in the dining room. I have two sometimes three regular table mates. I have cheese quesadillas everyday for lunch. I have "converted" two of them to quesadillas. They now them for lunch too. Alas the other person is lactose intolerant.
  5. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/334392341076435791/ He played "Le Chevalier" the lover of the King's brother. I think that he is beautiful!
  6. There is an adorable young Latino (19yo) here who works in the activities room. Tall, slim, outgoing, friendly. The other day a fellow resident (female) asked him if had a girlfriend. He said "no". She then asked him if he had a boyfriend. Again "no" but no change in his voice tone nor attitude. This afternoon I didn't participate in the activities; but he brought popcorn to my room. ===================================================================================== I take @a dozen different meds; some different from the ones I took at home. Rather than a med some think the hallucinations may be caused by high blood pressure or low blood sugar.

    Celexa

https://www.cvs.com/drug/celexa/side-effects I've been having hallucinations for a week. They had started giving me this med. The doctor was just here; he comes @once a month. He only stayed a couple of minutes. He said that med could not cause it. He's going to send a psychiatrist in a few days to see me. The hallucinations - the ceiling above my bed "rolls".
  8. YES INDEED!!!
  9. Does it bother you when people use female words in regards to gay males? Afterall a gay male is not merely "a chick with a dick". Yesterday morning I was waiting for my aide of the day to help me dress. Another aide - a male - dropped by. He said to me "You're a princess".
  10. I've always been this way.
  11. I'm almost always cold. My temp is usually 97 point something. Just now it was 96.5 and that's coming in from sitting out in the sun.

    DNR?

Do you have a "Do Not Resucitate" directive? I decided against having one.
  13. On the top of my menu card is CCHO This explains the diabetic carb diet https://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/root/pdfs/humannutr/Information_for_Unit_Staff_on_Consistent_Carb_Diabetic_Menu.pdf
  14. Thanks all. I've been having lunch in the dining room since last Monday. I didn't know until then that one could request special orders. When one at my table saw my cheese quesadillas he ordered them too!
  15. The meat, fish, fowl is so dry here at the nursing home I rarely eat it. So today for lunch I ordered a substitute, a cheese quesadiila. It was delicious! I could have it everyday so I was wondering how healthy it was?

  17. I don't want to cause any problems here for the nursing home. I'm here for 100 days max - that's all that Medicare will pay for. I don't know what will come next for me. My income is not great enough to pay for assisted living. My last week at home I sat in my own shit for a week. I called the rescue squad and they took me to the ER and I was there for 10 hours and was sent back home. My MD that I had not seen for a year came by the next day for a home visit for half-an-hour but did nothing. A few days later I called the rescue squad again and they took me back to the ER and this time I was admitted to the hospital. I was there for two weeks. I had "wounds"/sores on my butt. They went away but have now returned.
  18. The last two early mornings my blood sugar has been under 100 - in the 90s. First time I can remember. I try to control my diet here. I don't eat bread rolls, French toast, bread etc.. No desserts. Etc..
  19. When I became a diabetic 10+ years ago my doctor did not give me a specific diet to follow unlike my mother had 50 years ago but told me to avoid the big 5 - bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, cereal plus a few other things like citrus fruit, grapes, corn, peas etc.. AVOID CARBS! But at the hospital and now at the nursing home that is not the practice. They give me these things that I was forbidden but smaller portions. I asked if there was a special diabetic diet and was told "no". Still I try to avoid the bad stuff as much as possible. Last night for dinner there was a mixed vegetable, a small slice of pepperoni pizza and a chocolate chip cookie. I ate the pizza. A few hours later my blood sugar was 265. This morning it was 133.
  20. It's been a tough couple of months. On 27 March the rescue squad took me to the ER, I was in the hospital for two weeks and now am in the nursing home. I don't know if it will be a few months or I'll be a lifer. I'm not online everyday. Plus it's difficult to time from bed.
  21. I'm used to seeing sign language, hand gestures. But the episode of "Judge Judy" that I just watched the translator was positioned in front of the court room and just mouthed all the words that everyone said. He did not use his hands.
  22. One horse=sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses? I just became aware of this expression.
  23. I hope it works for me. It is miserable. Not s beer drinker.
  24. I was always a shower person. I now do what I call a "spit bath". I'm not able to step over the side into the tub/shower. And even if I could I would not be able to stand long enough.
  25. I fell in February and on 11 March. Both times getting into bed. I now sleep in my chair in the living room. Tonight (22 March) I was walking from the bathroom to my chair when I collapsed. I was just a few feet away from the chair. I have Life Alert. They have been quick in getting here. Thankfully I've not been hurt or injured. Only black & blue. I had them put a kitchen chair outside the bathroom door. So in the future when I exit I can sit a few minutes to get my strength.
