  1. Yes, so true. Unfortunately, the only thing that seems to make it into the news these days is anything related to the orange bobble head. In addition, even news organizations are so fearful of his wrath that you cannot trust or believe most of what you read these days. I had no idea corruption was so bad in Thailand. Then again, it should come as no surprise that Thailand would be an exception to the norms of the world. Just proves that money talks. Certainly doesn't make it right. Regardless of compensation offered, how can you put a price on human life? Such a tragedy indeed.
  2. Not familiar with this. Is this a website providing reviews? Primarily in Thailand? Would be interested in learning more about this.
  3. How terrible. Didn't see anything in the news about this here in Denver. Will there be some sort of investigation to determine the exact cause?
  4. The thing about Airbnb you need to be careful of is the 30 day rule. Thailand has the Hotel Act which limits short term rentals of 30 days. Condo's, houses, villa's, etc that rent for short term are technically considered hotels under this law and must be licensed as such. The other problem you may come across is some buildings have their own rules that prohibit these types of rentals. That doesn't necessarily mean the actual owner abides by the building rules, but could present problems for you if discovered. There are a number of posts on here that talks about Airbnb. You might try doing a search to bring up past experiences other people have had using that service.
  5. And unfortunately for the rest of the world, those who could stop him sit idly by and let him do the stupid stuff. They have abandoned their fiduciary duty. The ugly orange one and his cronies are rampantly running amuck like a pack of wolves.
  6. My understanding from @unicorn original post is that some of the 'inside jokes' were made in Hebrew. I doubt anyone other than Jewish individuals would know or understand Hebrew. Not many of the general non-Jewish population is going to have any clue about Hebrew. Perhaps I misunderstood his post.
  7. Not to mention that pain factor. I know a couple of people who had it done as a young adult and they talked about how painful it was. I guess I never really gave it much thought until this post. Not sure I would have ever equated male circumcision to childhood mutilation. Wasn't really something I had a choice in...back in those days in the small town where I grew up, the local hospital just automatically circumcised infant boys. As a matter of fact, I don't know that my parents were even given a choice. It was just SOP back then.
  8. Make that 4. I missed out as well. 🤣
  9. Kinda of agree with you. Seems like they made an assumption that everyone in the audience was Jewish and would understand Hebrew.
  10. Think I must be the newest member of that club. I'm quaking in my boots! LOL!!!
  11. I stayed at the Ibis Styles Silom in October and had a great experience. Convenient location, reasonable price, good breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend it, and if I was returning to Bangkok for a short visit would definitely stay there again. Rooms are a little on the small side, and for longer stays there isn't much in the way of storage for personal belongings.
  12. ok, good to know. I hate cold or even warm showers. Like mine nice and hot...just like my men. lol. Think Zing is off the list.
  13. Wish I had seen the bar tender from Ibis Styles Silom on Grinder when I was there in October. Would have been all over that in a heartbeat!!!
  14. Is this something temporary due to construction or remodeling? Just asking because I was thinking of going to Pattaya for a few days on my upcoming trip and Zing was one of the places I was checking out. Might not be the best choice if possible guests are uncomfortable with the arrangement.
  15. Interesting. I am like you...not something I would even think about. I just assume they would be different young men, not work at both businesses. Wonder how many there are that actually 'double dip' like that?!?
  16. Doesn't matter where I am traveling to...domestic or international...I always shop around and look for the best deal. I have no qualms about canceling a reservation if a better deal comes up. I am also not so particular about having the same room if it is a repeat location. No issues if it is the same, but also fine if it is a different room, different floor, different building, etc. As long as it is a decent room, clean, good service, reasonable price and good location...I am happy.
  17. Not surprised. Absolutely no way to prove this...but my gut reaction is most of those who donated are probably MAGA or trump supporters.
  18. I realize that I am relatively new here compared to other forum members, but this post goes far beyond the friendly banter that takes place among the group. From my perspective, this post is hurtful, targeting, and shifts from good-natured teasing to bullying and harassment. I cannot speak for Gay Button, but I, for one, am offended by this post.
  19. No, at least not the two therapists who gave me their LINE account. I did exchange greetings with the one from Paradise who asked if we could stay in touch. He is the 'special friend' I mentioned who will text every two or three weeks and has never asked for anything. No idea if the other one tried to message me or not, since he is blocked.
  20. Initially I started visiting this forum after it was recommended to me by someone at COM when I posted questions there about Thailand travel. While I still come here for Thailand travel info, I really enjoy many of the various topics discussed. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming...and, of course, as @vinapu pointed out...handsome! I feel a real sense of belonging and camaraderie here that I have never felt at COM. It is an extremely toxic environment at COM.
  21. COM is not a Thailand forum. It is more of a general gay forum. It hasn't always been called COM...that was the name created when new ownership took over. It has been around in various forms for a very long time. I first joined that forum in the late 90's or early 2000's. Originally there were two sites...one was general gay community stuff and the other was a masseur/escort review site. It has been so long ago that I don't remember the original name of the forum. The previous owner from Las Vegas who passed away during COVID was called 'Daddy' and I believe the review site was actually called DaddiesReviews or something similar. The review portion of the site no longer exists as a separate site. They seemed to have been merged into one site. It was Hooboy who originally created the forum many, many years ago, not Daddy. Daddy took up the cause/forum when Hooboy passed away. His passing was unexpected and sudden, so no planning or thought had been given to continuation of the forum...who might take it over, what that might look like, etc. That would relate directly to @PeterRS question about the continuation of gayguides in the future. Do forums and chatrooms have a future? If so, what might that look like in 10 or 20 years.
  22. Also, if you are looking for a boyfriend and you have already learned he is a money boy, are you going to be able to handle that fact in a relationship. That could complicate things even more...your emotional well-being.
  23. Same here. Never really have been a club or bar person. When I was still in college I let a group of friends talk me into driving from Ohio to NYC for New Year's Eve in Times Square. I hated it. Far too crowded for me. Could barely move. Only other time I did anything similar was when a group of us went to the gay March on Washington. I cannot even recall what year that was...early 1990's? The march itself was fine as well as the rallies, but I avoided going to any of the clubs as I knew it would be wall to wall people.
  24. I agree. It is like you were reading my mind. If it were me, I would continue with the fantasy and see if a request for money comes up in the future. Sooner or later, if that is his real motivation that request will come. Believe me...I speak from experience...a very recent experience! lol.
