Hi All! Any fellow brothers here ride Peloton? My husband and I bought ourselves one for Chanukah this year and have been enjoying the ride so far (yeah... it's kind of like a cult, but I'm hooked!) My goals for 2021 have a lot to do with Fitness and the bike and trainers are helping me stay motivated!
 
Fellow riders, favorite rides? Favorite coaches?
 
So far I am a fan of Ben Alldis, Alex Toussaint, and Robin Arzón!
 
Particularly now that the studio is empty (because of COVID) I enjoy seeing Ben and Alex's ass in the mirror behind them while they're coaching! haha

I went back and forth on that as well. There are ways to replicate most of the experience with a cheaper bike. TONS of good videos online of how you can turn a $300 bike into a quasi Peloton by using the app and conversion tables. For me, it came down to the benefits of using their bike with their training. They have a concept called Power Zone Training where you regularly take assessment rides to track your numbers and then train within the zones it creates. They call it "Personal Training at Scale." So once you calibrate your zones you can do things like take rides and stay in certain zones (e.g. Zone 2 is maximum fat burn, Zone 4-5 are aerobic training, Zone 6-7 is anaerobic...).

Agreed man! And his personality is so attractive! He sometimes says some cheesy shit... but I can't help but smile every time I take his classes and I feel so good by the time I get off the bike!

This movie was brilliant- I'll be thinking about it for a while. It's definitely a statement, and makes you think about the morality of the main character long after the fact, or even if we're supposed to be questioning the morality of movie characters or basing our judgement of the movie on the judgements of the main characters. It really got me.
As for Jennifer Coolidge, I loved her in this more subtle role, but I did also imagine that it was the same living room decor as her role in Best in Show.

Alex Toussaint is really incredible.  I also can't take my eyes him!  

I want to buy one but I am not sure its worth the money?

Saw this one today and thought it was especially on point...

I accept. Hahahah. My first task would be to affirm that ‘honorary’ means ‘without the usual requirements and functions’. Somewhat like the presidency playbook. That might limit the prospects of somebody seconding your motion. But I am more than willing to assume all of the authority without any of the accountability.

Every NYE,  I see people at parties enjoying themselves, or intimate time with friends and loved ones; while sitting at home watching through social media.    Of course I can live it up in a destination city or event, but why alone and not invited.  Despite it all, I’m Thankful for a great 2020 and excited about the possibility’s of 2021.  I’m thankful for a healthy mind, body, spirit, and this new community.  I will give more, love more, and promise to be a little selfish sometimes.  I will explore the World and learn to be my own best friend.

Yeah, usually I have a couple of friends over. but this year that was illegal.
First new years eve I can remember being on my own.
but with Sabrina and Queen of the South and some vodka tonics it ended up being ok.

Finished Valhalla this week

After all the shock and worry of yesterday, I was downright blissful when I woke up this morning.  Congress had done it's job, and Trump was blocked on Twitter.  Sadly they soon unblocked him, but for an hour or so I had this great preview of a time 14 or so days from now when I don't have to see or hear what latest catastrophe he's caused every single morning, and maybe our government can be less actively incompetent.  
Fully support the calls for Pence to invoke the 25th, but I know he doesn't have the balls.  Also, everybody with a spine quit their cabinet positions months or years ago...  Now even the rats are jumping (including McConnel's wife, so she won't have to actually do something of use to earn her fucking Presidential Medal of Freedom...).
So yeah, second impeachment.  Hopefully gets through the House ASAP... and then, I assume, dies in the Senate.  Again.  

I like the previous work of all 3. And I am reminded that Bo Burnham and Bill Burr have only initials, stand-up, and now screen roles in common. 

A fantastic indy film that is coming soon to streaming! It will be available on demand in the US January 15.
Carey Mulligan is fantastic in this, and a surprisingly good performance from Bo Burnham as well. Used to seeing him as a stand-up comic but he really shone here in this more serious role!
Also... Jennifer Coolidge is almost unrecognizable in this, but delivers a great (even if quite small) performance!
