Yes, most of us - I know there are exceptions- seem absurdly wealthy to the guys we meet. It is sometimes hard to persuade them that money worries do affect us. Not however, hunger.
Nearly all who travel to Thailand can afford  a 100bht note that can mean two days  of food to guys on the scene. I know some who have gone hungry and rely on the kindness of friends to eat. 
Accordingly, annoying though it can be , not to mention embarrassing to be taken for a fool , l refuse to make a stand and say no. Sometimes we understand very little of what's going on in the lives of the guys, not to mention the lives of their parents- something that is almost as important.
By the way, the cost of living in rural areas has rocketed in the past few months- electricity, gas and , yes, even basic food -stuffs. And it's in rural areas that much of the money we give ends-up.
 

Yeah, now it is like huge inflow of tourists in Thailand, we are about 96% booked in June there, Mac has 16 days in row non-stop, Andy is busy by weekdays in UNI. I suggest to book tours in Bangkok at least 3 weeks in advance. We already have placed ads about hiring of new guides in Bangkok and on Phuket.

Day 5
Dum was great  and earned 500 bonus in the morning. We went to Foodland  for a breakfast, staff seeing me so often with different guys started smiling knowingly and that grin will not leave their faces for next 2 weeks.

Santiagodc wrote an epic, three-part account of the 2019 prepandemic scene in Athens. His posts were my guidebook, but of course a lot has changed. Here is my update:
Theaters
Sadly, the wild, astonishing places that Santiagodc vividly described were shuttered. You’d think the guys who sold themselves there would have moved to nearby Omnia Square, but not the case.
Omnia Square
Nothing like the cruising nirvana that Santiagodc saw. Usually no more than a couple of guys, if any, were waiting by each metro escalator. And most of them were neither attractive nor making any eye contact.
Usually, only one or two guys, if any, in the whole Omnia area were signaling availability. Overall, there was neither the quantity or quality that I’d expected. I erroneously thought the pandemic would bring out more immigrants needing cash.
One reason may have been a police crackdown. Police were everywhere around Omnia, especially on the weekend.
I nodded to one good-looking young man who followed me around the corner where I discovered he was selling grass only. He refused to consider sex even with a generous offer.
Omnia side streets
A few guys were hustling on the side streets that Santiagodc had identified. But again, few were good choices. Around here I found only three (during a week) worth taking to the short-term hotel one block over.
€5 rooms
Santiogodc’s tips on the €5 short-term hotel rooms and how it all works were spot on. Rooms were surprisingly clean too.

Same pattern. Not nearly as many guys hustling as I’d expected – only a few, day or night.
Fees
Santiogodc’s summary of expected payments was higher than I paid. I always said, as if not open for debate: €20. None ever hesitated and they all smiled. Many of the bars were closed and a few were just beginning to open back up. One place that was open had a number of healthy-looking, nearly middle-class, easy-going, G-for-P, Persian guys was Sami's.

PART THREE:
OMNIA SQUARE (red outline area on map below): This place is brimming with Middle Eastern young men for sex. This is a place you either love or hate (as our other reviews here have shown)!!!! The whole square is very seedy, but the area for sex is the northwestern part of Omonia. This is the part in front of and surrounding the Hondos department store. The Syrian, Iranian, and Iraqis are usually sitting/standing at the top of the tube escalator that empties in front of the juice bar Gregores (red circle). The escalator that empties in front of Hondos (and the elevator area) usually has the Greeks and eastern Europeans (red circle). As you face Hondos, the side pedestrian street on the left side is filled with Afgans and Pakistanis. The same can be found on the right side of Hondos on the side walk. It is also the case that if you cross the street to your east you will find several outdoor cafes. One of them, whose name escapes me, you will find has old gay men sitting with their young male companions. I usually frequent the outdoor café/restaurant right in front of Hondos where I can sit and watch the boys on offer (dotted red on map). When I arrive at Omonia I usually take a complete walk around the Hondos center and then spend a few minutes seeing what is available by standing at the top of one of the two escalators. Now there is a nearby police station, so do not be so stupid as to do business in public. As to where you can go for sex, that is rather easy. All the boys will know that there are three possible sex hotels from which to choose. One is one block to the west (the one I prefer), there is one next to the Kosmopolit cinema, and then one more one block east of that. So, for those not familiar… once you negotiate what you want with the boy and how much to pay, you then proceed to the hotel. Just tells the boys to show you the hotel. You will probably pass a number of female prostitutes along the way who also use these hotels. Once you get to the hotel, you approach the clerk and hand over 5-10 euros depending on which hotel you go to. No id is required. I do this with one swift motion as I hand the 5 euro with my right hand whilst my feet continue to move to the elevator with the boy. It is usually the second floor if you choose the hotel west of Omonia, but that changes over time. The boy will know the floor. Once you get off the elevator, you will be in a hallway with about 10 rooms. There will probably be one or two couples (gay and straight with prostitutes) waiting ahead of you for a room. Once a room is clean, the maid will motion for you and you enter the room. It has a bed with one fitted sheet on top, tv with porn, a bathroom, two towels, and usually a condom. You have between 30-40 minutes until the maid will bang on your door. Most of the Syrians were especially phenomenal kissers and fuckers. Often they would also ask if I would fuck them as well. Interestingly to me, the Afgans always liked to get fucked and kiss.  My usual deal was 25 euro for the boy and 5 euro for the room. I have found it safe 99.9% of the time and only had one problem. I once got a boy back to the room and he stripped. I then looked and noticed he had a small discharge from his penis even before it got hard. It was clear he had gonorrhea or chlamydia , so I used google translate to tell him how to get some medical care. A friend of mine DID have one problem when a guy could not get hard to fuck him, so he paid the guy only 10. The guy went ballistic and would not allow my friend to leave until he paid more. My friend then started yelling for the maid who started banging on the door. The boy had to relent and my friend left. I never had problems and had some amazing repeat business with these boys. Most of these boys ALSO show up a few hours later at Victoria Park where they are also available for more sex. 
TYPICAL DAY: I would begin the morning with work. Around 11:30 am I would take a nice walk to Omonia Square to see if there was a young male appetizer I might enjoy. I would walk completely around Hondos Center and then stand for a while at the top of the two escalators. I would always find someone. After going to the nearby hotel for sex, I would return and settle down at one of the cafes for lunch…usually the one right in front of the Hondos Center. During my time I would regularly make eye contact with another young man and invite him over for lunch. After lunch he and I would go to the sex hotel for some fun. I would then walk back to my place to freshen up and take an afternoon nap. Afterwards, I would walk over to Pedion Park for an afternoon to sample one of the guys there. Then, I would walk back to Omonia for some theatre action where I would always find one or two guys to my liking. After some sex, I would leave and have a coffee and enjoy one of those amazing Greek rice curd desserts they have. I would then return to the theater for one more round. After this I would walk up to Omonia Square and see what was on offer. I would always take at least one guy to the sex hotel for some fun, sometimes two. Afterwards, I would make my way to Victoria Park. They have some nice caffes with outdoor seating right off the top of the tube escalator that are perfect for eating dinner and watching boys. If I did not catch the eye of anyone special, then I would check Grindr or PlanetRomeo to see what was on offer. As was almost always the case, I would find someone in Victoria Park to take back to my place for a late-night snack. I would generally repeat this pattern, but add the two bars especially on Friday/Saturday nights when new guys would appear. For those not yet familiar with these areas, then simply use the street view of google maps and you can see pretty much everything that I noted above. Day 4
No problems with early rising and rinsing, at 7.30 on the dot we entered world famous , jimbill joined us there and after breakfast we hailed taxi and went to the Grand Palace. Taxi from Silom was less than 100 .There is some construction so we circulated a bit to find entrance , they made sure we are not wearing shorts. Tickets are 500 , Thais free. Since S is Cambodian  I paid for his ticket.
Visit was a treat, just like private tour due to early hour and sparse crowds.  Even Emerald Buddha temple we had almost to ourselves. We were also pleased with S as he clearly was interested in sights , tried to explain to us some motives and rituals. That was pleasant contrast with last time I was there with a guy who couldn’t wait until we go back.
 Wat Po with Reclining Buddha is walking distance   but ever stylish we took tuk-tuk to take us there, 50 baht for good start of the day for driver.  The same situation , few visitors,  while in normal times seeing Reclining Buddha is testing patience, fact well testified by signs on the floor ‘wait here” and so on. Us three and perhaps two Japanese girls was all crowd in the grand hall with statue.
Instead taxi or MRT ( Sanam Luang station nearby is very impressive ) we decided to go by the river to walked to a Wat Arun ferry nearby. They made us waiting 15 minutes so we had some beer and S called him Mom in Cambodia proudly showing her farangs he was guide of , at least this is  how he presented us I presume. Don’t believe he said ,”mom , tonight I slept with that grey haired  guy in glasses, he snores like saw mill “. Ferry is whole 4 baht , 25% rise from Decemver when I paid only 3.
From Wat Arun we took tourist boat to Saphan Taksin  at 50 a piece for single trip and there by BTS to Silom where we parted our ways. Than you both gentlemen for such interesting trip.
Jet lag is still there so I had some rest in the room, went to change money as at those tip rates is almost daily ritual, did some laundry and at dark to soi 4 for my daily schnitzel .I truly don’t like soi 4 and never did but somehow this trip I’m frequenting it daily, shame on me.
After dinner to Hot Male downstairs bar for chat with paulsf, jimbill  and bar boys there with Alex behind the counter and tiny Laotioan clingy as always.
From my rotation today was supposed to be Jupiter day so it’s where we went to feast on their handsome guys , in process to get frozen and deaf  at the same time. A/C was set waaaaaaaaaaaaay too low and sound volume  waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high.

K, hero of my first night no doubt told him what he got as they are friends and hailing from the same city but  muscle  beats belly any time in my books and he knew it. I'm joining long chorus above with the same advice, it's not  a way things are done in Thailand although  when I was whoring locally where I live it was standard practice here.
I was never in 22 trips asked to advance payment by the boy. Only massage places sometimes are asking for payment for massage up front but that's it.
I had a case when mid long time boy asked me for advance partial payment as he was hungry and wanted to go to buy something to eat. I gave him half of negotiated fee hoping he will not show up at all as he smelled like an ashtray up close but after about 1 hr he disappointed me by knocking into door. But he was a gentleman and himself suggested I reduce his final payment because he left me for so long.
It's not to say I did not pay in advance there. When with the guy offed previously  often I put money on the table saying it's for you in the morning but it never resulted in any reduction in services and time - who would risk losing such generous and charming client anyways, LOL

I arrived on a Sunday afternoon after being away for two years. Not many people at airport. Need to check Thai Pass before proceeding to immigration. Quick process. Just show Thai Pass QR code on my handphone and the lady scanned it and marked my arrival card. I saw some tourists who printed A4 coloured pages of their QR codes. Not necessary! At immigration area no long snaking queue to reach the immigration counters. About 20 counters open and only 2 or 3 people queueing at each counter. I went to a counter manned by a boyish looking immigration officer with a high crew cut and tight fitting uniform and admired him as he processed my passport! No queue at SIM card counter and taxi stand. Not many cars on highway and roads as well but I attribute it to Sunday afternoon traffic. The moment the taxi driver turned left into Surawong Road, I felt right at home. Passed by The Raya which I had stayed many times in the past but this time, I would be staying at Le Meridien. Gave the taxi driver 500 baht and told him to keep the change as a Le Meridien staff unloaded my luggage. Very efficient and friendly service with great hospitality. I was served a welcome drink of orange juice as I did check-in. I had opted for long term stay at Le Meridien which cost about 2200 baht per night. Clincher was the daily laundry service. Sorry, Raya! I collected my card key and was told to go to room first. My luggage would be sent up shortly. My deluxe room on 16th floor gave me a good view. Spacious room with bath tub and separate shower. The door bell rang and a young lanky porter brought in my luggage. Tipped him 100 baht and he went off happily.
