  1. Confused
jamieb202 got a reaction from pylonguy71 in Sauna Thermas Barcelona... scams and smell.
I just got back from BCN last week and I went to the Thermas 3 times. Thought I'd share my experience. The best advice I can give is if you don't like the hustle and you're not street smart - don't go. I later talked to a guy in Barcelona who used to work there and he gave me the full low down.
Overall the guys here run from average to unattractive, there's only one hot guy Brazilian who calls himself Anaconda. Going rate here is 50 euro, then it goes up to 100 euro etc. Be firm and agree before hand. Take the exact amount of money to the room and make sure he knows that's all you brought.
First night (3pm - 4pm) I met Oliver from Santo Domingo again. He's like a wasp. If you're upstairs - he'll be there. If you're downstairs - he'll be there. Sit at the bar, he'll be at the stool next to you. Get in the pool and he'll come floating along like a jellyfish. I would avoid him and don’t engage. Then I met a guy called Fercho from Bogota who also works the door at Boys Bar - not my type but actually a lovely honest guy who is learning English. I had a really nice time talking to him, but he was busy with a customer. Then Oliver came back with massage oil, so I decided to leave and come back after hours.
Returned later that night (11.30pm - 1.00am) Oliver was still there and I actually! gave him 50 euro to go away! A bunch of trans kids were in the bar. They seem to live in the place. They have a room that they stick to and take blankets etc. but they're nice except they (and lots of other customers) smoke in all the rooms so if you’re asthmatic avoid the place. The staff however work hard to keep things clean. As I walked around, there was one sex worker OD'ing in a room and another guy sleeping on the bench - I was told that scopolamine was sometimes used to drug people in the club so keep a really close eye on your drinks. It's a myth that it'll turn you instantly into a zombie, but it is a very powerful sedative. That was enough for me and I left.
Second night (11pm - 1am) I met a Colombian guy who was okay looking with a tattoo/body art diamante thing on his shoulder - he was okay - good conversation although I got vibes from him like there was something a bit untrustworthy. Nevertheless only 50 euro for the whole works. Afterwards, in the bar I met Christian from Nigeria. He's a black guy with a big dick but not handsome - he looked homeless and walking around in his underwear. He told me a story about buying a bar and managing his wife and kid. It was quite a nice conversation until he offered me an investment opportunity to support him with the bar refurbishment. I wasn't buying it but later I learned the full scam to avoid - there is a disused bar - Nigerian hustlers take you to it and pretend it belongs to them, and they need investors. Apparently one old guy was stung for 50k via Christian. Also Christian lives at the sauna so if you buy him a drink, use a drink token otherwise, you'll find the 24-hour room hire is on your bill.
Third night (5pm - 7pm) I met Oliver again who followed me around until Christian showed up. I noticed that as I was walking around the place and literally no one selling would talk to me. They were walking/ looking away. I had no idea how I'd offended them. It turned out that Christian has warned all the other guys off me. I was his customer now. From what I could gather later, he's a pretty bad guy - runs with some bad people so once you're his customer you get no other offers. To be fair, this gave me the oppertunity to have a proper look around.
One more thing you should know - mobile phones are allowed throught the place - this is fine with me - however, make sure you don't allow a hustler to take your picture and whatsapp details - apparently it's common for the guys to try to extort you when they have a photo with you. That said - this didn't happen to me. Aside from that the club that night smelled horrendous, the pools had that smell of chloramines where the pool cleaner is reacting with urine. Some guys go into the pool, urinate and come straight back out then a cockroach almost reached my foot – with the hygiene issue I left.

jamieb202 got a reaction from HotBottom4U in Mexico City
Just come back from a trip from Mexico City so I thought I'd give an update.
Arriving at the airport there are self service passport checks at the border. As you come into arrivals - turn right and you'll find the official taxi payment processors DO NOT go outside and get your own taxi. It's about 300 pesos to the city.  I stayed at the Sheraton for 9 nights. I had no problems bringing guests back. This is a decent hotel and I was upgraded from a Corner Suite to a Malmaison Penthouse Suite.

Bars are relatively conservative I went to the following:
    In the gay area:
Blow Bar - 150 pesos cover charge. This is 70% women to 30% men. GoGos are hot but they keep their shorts on the whole time. The women here tend to be a bit screetchy and scream when the guys dance.
Marikoteca - Unsure of the cover charge because it was 250 pesos on NYE. This used to be kinky bar - 50% to 50% men and women. The women here are different, chill, don't scream etc. Again GoGos are hot but stay in shorts. Drag show is maximum effort - one bitch was waltzing round in a ball gown.
Workshop/ El Taller - 100 pesos cover charge. Drag show; no GoGos but the staff are really the nicest in the city. Chilled out.
Macho and King/ Papi Fun bar* - No cover charge, no menus and no show; these are scam bars. Do not go to them. You will pay prices similar to Los Angeles.
Sauna Olympio* - 250 cover charge, decent enough gay sauna and bathhouse.
    Outside the gay area:
Tom's Leather Bar - 250 pesos cover charge inc. five drinks. Guys dance with hard ons in the two bar areas. They do this every half hour from 10:30 for 15 minutes. The crowd and the staff are good fun here. Worth the Uber with one caveat - I'm a smoker when on a night out so I didn't mind but the guys here smoke in the main bar which wouldn't be ideal for someone with respiratory problems.
    Near the historic center:
Funny Love Cabinas - 100 pesos cover charge inc. one drink. This is cabins in a sex shop. You go in and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. The guys stand around the Cabins. There is a show here (full sex) but they don't give out the details. It just happens.
Sexto Piso - 150 pesos cover charge. Most difficult place to find. In the same street as Funny Love you go into a building and it's on the 6th floor. Staff very nice. Cruise club with light room and dark room. Guys fucking all over.
Cine Savoy - 60 pesos entry. Old fashion sex cinema. Anyone can get it here. It's packed with about 100 men.
    Things to be aware of:
Gringo prices - You will pay gringo prices in a load of bars. I've put * next to the ones I paid extra in. This can be anywhere from an extra 100 pesos in the sauna to an extra 100$ in Macho and King bars. If they won't give you a price list, just walk out. HOWEVER, if you chose to be taken to a table by a waiter and they run around after you and look after you all night expect to pay about 20% for drinks. I didn't mind at all because I took it as a service charge but if you're on a tight budget go to the bar yourself.
Uber - Uber is 99% safe however, do not come off the main drag or the busy areas to make it easier for your driver. This leaves you vulnerable. The concierge told me that occasionally an Uber driver accepts and if the area is remote, they send friend to rob the gringo waiting for them.
The metro - If you want to get flashed at, or see someone suck off a random guy - use the last carriage of the metro from Cuauhtémoc to Hidalgo.
The street scene - Not my thing but there are a few guys who look too vulnerable to me but they offer sex for less than 10$. These are not in much evidence but they are occasionally available and always on Hamburgo Street between C.Ambrese and C.Varsovia.
Closed bars - old favourites BoyBar and BotasBar are perminantly closed.
Honestly - I'll be back to Rio for my next adventure. CDMX isn't a lovely place but fun.

You mean XBar? I heard they'd closed too - but they were an awful lame rip-off to start with, I'd discourage anyone from visiting even if they were open. I don't think it should impact your decision whether to visit Prague in any way

I'm still pretty new in the game so a bit of a rant here - yesterday I was at Lagao, found a guy I liked went out and then headed back to my AirBnb and the facial recognition picked up he wasn't registered so I rang the owner to register him and they said they don't let gay men bring guests!  I really book rooms to sleep in, not to have a stranger monitor and approve my sex life.
If, every time, Julia Roberts had gone to see Richard Gere at the Beverley Wilshire, the security guards had surrounded her, it would have ruined Pretty Woman.
Is there a security reason for this? Specifically the gay man bit got me - I mean we aren't going to burn the place down. Surely they have my Amex card on file if anything goes wrong?

Just got back from this place - it is ridiculous.
I hung out with 1 Colombian called Christian, 1 domincan (forgot his name) and a Nigerian called Collins.  They start with a price of 50 euros - really cheap in reality - but it doesn't work out like that as the price goes up as you spend time with them.
The Nigerian was the worst but all are similar - Go to the room and he says "I said 150 euro not 50." I'm horny, plenty of money... whatever... and then it's "I only top." Specifically I asked if you were a bottom and you said "yes." And so I say "okay, it's fine - I'm top too - I'll pay you and move on," Next thing... he pulls out the phone. He needs 1500 for the time plus 500 for the room. 2000 Euros. Needless to say, he got a 20 euro tip for time and nothing else.

On the flip side, on the last night I met a Brazilian twink kid called Eduordo. He was lovely, eager to please, intelligent and really good company. When I came to pay, he said it was okay; that he had enjoyed the night etc. and I had to force him to take the money by hiding it in his bag.

Fully agree. But that Colombian guy was not budging at all - he was not even a fan of small talk or touching his impressive chest: "if you decide to go with me, come back and we'll go to the cabin when you decide", he said taking a step back . Wrapping a towel around the hips was also below him, so he was in longish jogging shorts with a towel around his neck. So I gave a hard pass - my experience shows that this attitude will be even more present in a cabin and the experience will be actually sub-par, even though he was certainly #1 in the sauna looks-wise. I had two other guys in the sauna that night, and it was a blast, so no regrets, it's a full experience what counts after all, not just the looks

Update on this guys - while I was away in CDMX Uber contacted me to apologise. Don't know why. It was out of the blue. Possibly their internal review?
They offered me 300$ USD per night as compensation plus a full refund and the apartment will no longer be offered. I asked if someone else had had the same issue and they couldn't answer.

    Recife
Recife, the capital of Pernambuco in Northeast Brazil, is often referred to as the "Venice of Brazil" due to its waterways and bridges. While in Recife, one is likely to visit Marco Zero and from there it only cost 10rs to take a water taxi to Parque de Esculturas Francisco Brennand, a small island featuring works of the famous Brazilian sculptor. I spent three days in this city with a Brazilian friend, with the main purpose of the trip being to meet him and lift his spirits. Depression and poverty can be a dangerous combination. Unfortunately, that also meant cutting back on my visits to saunas. I only visited Termas Boa Vista on my last night in the city, despite being a week night, the visit was a success. Uber is a must in this region of Brazil, the sun sets early in July, the touristic neighborhood of Recife felt okay but on the way to TBV, I passed through some questionable neighbors that look dangerous especially at night. TBV itself felt secured, clean, and the management is welcoming.

The bar area in TBV had live music and the acoustics was pleasant. The drinks were about 1/2 the price of SP and Rio and the suite was superior in comparison. There were only about seven GPs working, in general the men in NE brazil felt very masculine, more tan, and don't flash their smile as freely as Cariocas. Despite with only 7 GP on premise, I had 3-4 candidates in mind. I came to an agreement with J very quickly and we went to the presidential suite. I was blown away by the amount of passion that came from J inside the suite, easily the best kisser I ever encountered in Brazil. As @ShivRoy stated in his report, the GPs accept 100r without haggling. It was the right choice to visit TBV on my last night and I wish I had more days in Recife because during the weekend, TBV stays open until 6 AM!
Overall, I can see Recife becoming a repeat destination in the future.
