Whether in Thailand or Egypt of Latin America regardless, what drives young fit men who are in many cases straight to have sex with strangers,tourists, is money. It is a financial transaction and anything else is just a minor detail, money is the key that opens closed doors. The problem is that some tourists are so disillusioned that they actually think that these young men are offering their sexual services because of love and romance.
The only exception to this is if you yourself are young and cute and white. Then yes you might attract sex for free.

I recall a guy I took from Toyboys when I was a player on Pattaya scene. It must have been the early 2000s. After I'd paid him, he told me that he was going to dinner because he hadn't eaten for two days....business in Boyztown had been slow.
A few minutes later, I left the hotel to go to 7 11 and there he was , sitting outside Toyboys with a large plate of food and some fruit. As an example of this, P didn't have enough money for the bus fare to see his beloved parents at Songkran, indeed hadn't seen them for a year.
I cannot say if this is still true today but I suspect that that some guys are in difficulties. When I last walked through the Jomtien Complex in November there were barely fifteen falang punters. And many guys. Of course, there are the  apps , so who knows?
Nevertheless, I learnt from my relationship  that what we can give can make a huge difference, whether it be a much-needed meal, or a bus ride home. And yes, OK,  perhaps a pair of trainers  of a much-valued brand....that too.

Not doubts really just interested in getting insight from a local Brazilian gentleman on what makes Brazil a unique destination, in S America, for visiting tourists who wish to meet men there. All things being equal do you think that Brazil would offer a good starting point for visitors who never visited S America before?

I have not been to the Dominican Republic but I have been twice to Colombia and Brazil at least 5 times. So all I can compare is Colombia versus Brazil.
Colombia: People are less warm and inviting and that makes it harder to find guys randomly like you do in Brazil. When you do find guys or go to the sex spots you will realize that the guys on average are shorter, less buff, and less endowed(gifted) than the guys in Brazil. The best gay city in Colombia is Bogota due to Theatron and Gigolo Erotic House and other venues. Plus Bogota has a whole gay area similar to Republica in Sao Paulo. 
 

Take the opportunity to get to know the regional culture of each state and also the local cuisine, which is delicious, especially that of Bahia and Minas Gerais. You can find typical restaurants in all regions, Uber, Ifood are apps that have made your life easier here too.

Avoid showing off your belongings in public, avoid going to communities (favelas) alone, be careful with your belongings in tourist places, in the northeast (Salvador, Fortaleza, Recife) it is hot all year round, so bring light clothing if you are going to the southeast or south of the country (São Paulo, Rio, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Florianópolis) depending on the time of year it can get quite cold, from the end of May to August the weather gets cold in these regions, so you may need a coat.

However, Brazil is a continental country and changes a lot depending on each region, I recommend starting with São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro as the cultural impact is smaller as they are two large cities that receive thousands of tourists per year.

But I have no doubts about Brazil, the question is about the Dominican Republic and Colombia, do you have any doubts about Brazil?

I read that the CG pilot was told to hold short and he entered the runway to hold....

According to the news the Japanese Coast guard aircraft was protruding in the landing strip, or it's nose anyway. It should not have been this close to the landing area. Either the control tower or the pilot of the Coast Guard plane, who by the way survived, somebody must have committed a catastrophic human error that led to this accident. I'm sorry for the lives of those lost and am thankful for the survivors.

A federal judge has ruled that former Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis must pay over $260,000 in attorney fees and expenses following her court case relating to her refusal to issue marriage licenses to a same-sex couple.
Davis was briefly jailed in 2015 for her refusal, and she was subsequently taken to court. Courts have also ruled that she must pay $100,000 in damages to the two men she had refused to work with.
Davis' attorneys are expected to appeal Tuesday's ruling.
Davis spent five days in jail for ignoring court orders to issue licenses to same-sex couples following a 2015 Supreme Court ruling allowing gay marriage. She argued that she was acting "under God's authority," and was freed after a judge ordered her deputies to issue the licenses without her approval.

Davis had run for re-election to the county clerk office in 2018, but she lost to a Democrat. She had argued that she would be able to certify same-sex marriages due to a change in Kentucky law dropping the requirement for licenses to contain the clerk's signature.
 
Davis was defeated in the 2018 election by Democrat Elwood Caudill Jr. 54% to 46%. One of Caudill's challengers in the Democratic primary for the post was David Ermold, to whom Davis refused to issue a license.
After losing, Ermold accused Caudill of being an "anti-gay bigot."
"I just want him to lose. I would rather Kim Davis win," Ermold said ahead of the election. "At least Kim Davis has the integrity to stand up for what she believes in. Elwood Caudill is a liar."
