  1. The W Hotel offers a more vibrant party atmosphere compared to Le Meridien, particularly with its superior pool area and lobby bar. However, Le Meridien boasts a more advantageous location for those seeking easy access to massage services and bars. In contrast, the W Hotel has a slightly better location in terms of proximity to the BTS public transport system. While the W excels in ambiance, Le Meridien's executive lounge provides a pleasant setting for evening drinks, complemented by excellent staff service. Both hotels, however, are comparable in offering great buffet breakfasts.
  2. Le Meridien is great.
  3. How’s Sihanoukville in Cambodia? Any gay scene around there? Is the beach nice?
  4. I am thinking about a beach getaway in late March and was wondering if there are any beaches in Thailand that have a gay scene (and good bars, restaurant, massage options) other than Pattaya and Phuket? If there aren’t any other options in Thailand, how about in other countries? Boracay in the Philippines is very gay (although not officially) and there is a lot of gay activity on Bali, but I’m trying to think of ideas that are out of the ordinary. Maybe the beaches in Sri Lanka or Goa could be an option? How about Cambodia and Vietnam?
  5. Very interesting thread. Thank you to those who have been sharing their experiences. I think a new reason not to live in Thailand more than 6 months out of the year is the change in tax policy, which makes foreigners liable to pay tax on foreign sourced income brought into Thailand. Malaysia is also implementing similar changes and unfortunately the changing tax landscape in making it unattractive to live in many places for more than 6 months out of the year.
  6. Really just to discover a country that I have never been to. Not interested in intense sightseeing, but enjoying the experience which means restaurants, walks, seeing a few interested things without having a packed schedule, hopefully meet some cute local guys along the way and have drinks and see what happens. Basically an easy going itinerary without it being too long to get bored or feel uncomfortable, since the accommodation appears to be a little rustic.
  7. How many nights would you guys recommend one spend at Gomez Place for a first visit to avoid getting bored?
  8. The videos are intriguing but I don’t understand what you wrote. Could you please translate to English as I’d like to understand the backstory. Thanks.
  9. Not sure why luxury accommodation is discouraged? Nothing exciting about roughing it if one can afford to stay somewhere nice.
  10. The guys maybe, but you can’t walk around relatively carelessly at all hours of the day and night the way you can in Thailand. Quite the opposite.
  11. Thanks for that. It’s also the distance that I was seeing on Google Maps. I wasn’t sure if there was a gay scene other than Jomtien Complex that might be nearer to the resort, but I guess not.
  12. Worth visiting for the beach or not even that?
  13. I have never been to Pattaya (although I have been to Bangkok many times). I see that a new Andaz resort opened in Pattaya this year. It looks really nice and seems to be receiving great reviews. Would the location be very inconvenient for enjoying the gay nightlife in Pattaya? When I look at Google Maps, it looks like the resort is a 22 minute drive from Jomtien Complex, which is quite a drive when you want to go out unplanned and just roam around. Is there other gay nightlife closer to the resort’s location? If the location is overall inconvenient, is there another resort on the beach of similar caliber that is within walking distance to the gay scene? Thanks
  14. How do the digital nomads, bar boys from Cambodia, etc manage to live in Thailand year round if the maximum number of days you can stay per year is 180? I thought that with periodic visits to other countries for a few days at a time they essentially allow people to keep coming back in.
  15. What is the current number of days being given to tourists entering Thailand? Is it 30, 45, or 60? I am reading different articles that are saying different things. It is a little bit confusing and I’m thinking about an extended visit. Thank you for your help.
  16. The gym at Pathumwan Princess sounds like a great option. Thanks to both of you for suggestions!
  17. Is there a really nice gym in Silom that one can pay to access on a daily basis? A large facility with a good selection of new, well-maintained equipment, very clean, good air conditioning. Bonus if there’s a concentration of good looking gay guys who work out there thanks.
  18. Hello friends any tips on where to go for a good massage with cute young fit masseurs in Hong Kong? Preferably on the Hong Kong side.
  19. Thanks Peter. I think I’ll skip it this time around and spend a couple more days in Taipei. Going to go re-read through the multi-page Taipei post and hopefully make some plans.
  20. Planning a trip to Taipei and wondering if it’s worth spending a couple of days first in Kaohsiung? Is it easy to meet young, good looking guys at bars on Thursday and Friday evenings? Or would it be better to just spend more time in Taipei? Thanks!
  21. Doxycycline can be used as a prophylactic to prevent STIs. It’s not only used to treat them. FYI: https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2023/02/424861/doxycycline-sti-prevention-highly-effective-minimal-drug-resistance
  22. Dirty Old Man, and I could hear him speaking.
  23. Interesting that this was your takeaway from the post. Dancing wasn’t the issue. When I saw all of that going on yesterday I actually asked myself … could that be Olddaddy?
  24. Yes both were. Which is why it’s disgusting because he is wasn’t and it was not consensual.
