  1. Gus bar had a problem with LOUD music. Not ridiculous, but enough to see me off. No such problem at M Bar.
  2. 1 As described, profile with MB, dollar signs etc. 2 Thai including รับงาน (accepting work) & variations of that, particularly abbreviations (Be careful. รับ=accepting, so when used alone, this indicates his sexual position, as far as I understand) 3 If you are visibly over 50, have a profile picture and he's still talking to you, there's a good chance he's a money boy. But not certain. If in Pattaya, a very very good chance.
  3. Nailed it. That's the way to approach the situation. Gay people are still travelling to Thailand, but a far smaller percentage of them choose to visit gogo bars. Including some of those reminiscing about the gogo bar scene here.
  4. I agree. "Closed for renovations" or "temporarily closed" frequently is permanent closure. I've never seen a sign saying "this business has failed & is closed permanently", even when that is obviously the case.
  5. Cute naked boys, or wearing the smallest underwear possible. Good bar environment, with a well lit stage and low music volume. Even then, I don't promise to return anywhere near as regularly as I would have 15 years ago. These days, the apps provide a good supply of boys. App boys are less likely to rush back to the bar to find their second or third off of the night.
  6. Vinapu kindly provided the answer in the second post. I am not aware of any rule which says people can't wear underwear on stage, or essentially the same clothing they wear on the beach. This doesn't matter when dealing with a mafia extortion racket. About 100metres down the road, you regularly see ladies OUTSIDE their bars in skimpy underwear. But they probably paid the tea money in brown notes. I bet you can find bars with cocks on show and other bars with naked ladies. Agreed. And I won't be paying gogo prices to watch what I can see on the street for free.
  7. The boy drinks in the Jomtien host bars vary between 140 & 160, with 150 as the norm. The boys get 50 or 60 baht per drink. In many of the bars, that's all they get from the bar, so they can come & go as they please. I agree the prices at Pikkys are on the high side. I usually tip 200, or more if there for several drinks.
  8. The title was a shock, until I realised this doesn't refer to the brilliant and still free Audacity software.
  9. Wasn't the enquiry for bicycle hire ?
