The 7 days Cafe was not open 7 days. The first time I went in there, they had sofas which looked quite comfortable and chairs by tables, which were not. Unfortunately, the probable owner was occupying the good seats, rather than leaving them for customers. It depends who their target market is. There are 3 different Indian restaurants I eat at in S Pattaya & Jomtien. At two out of the three, the majority of customers are clearly European. The third has a mixture of customers, but Europeans are still well represented. Fortunately, almost all the Indian tourists go elsewhere.

Do explain your hypothesis. If we're measuring currencies against each other, there are probably thousands of currency pairs. For every pair, if one half weakens, the other half is strengthening. They can't all be weakening. Although, if we measure paper currencies against gold, almost all of them are weakening. I'm told it is quite hard to print gold.

If my sole requirement were the gay sex scene, I would spend 100% of the time in Pattaya and 0% in Bangkok. However, Bangkok has some interesting day time activities. So for that reason, I spend up to 3% of my trip in Bangkok.

1 Why go to Boyztown, when the selection of boys in Jomtien is better ? 2 Once we're in Jomtien, most of the boys I speak to are paid commission on drinks sold. Where is "here" ? If you're in Pattaya, it is very easy. If in Silom, you should get results, but it takes longer. Elsewhere in Thailand, it can be more hit & miss.

I took a morning train trip to Isaan earlier in the year. The train was full all the way to Ayutthaya & most of the passengers got off there. A few days later, on an evening return trip, a lot of passengers got on in Ayutthaya. I still recommend the train, but take care to get a seat.

When I've been there, Hua Hin typically had about 1.5 gay bars & no male massage options. New Guy bar & sometimes something else. For example, Red Indian was about the size of a broom cupboard (now closed). During my last visit, there was one other gay bar, but they just happened to be closed for a few days.

Nailed it. That's the way to approach the situation. Gay people are still travelling to Thailand, but a far smaller percentage of them choose to visit gogo bars. Including some of those reminiscing about the gogo bar scene here.

I agree. "Closed for renovations" or "temporarily closed" frequently is permanent closure. I've never seen a sign saying "this business has failed & is closed permanently", even when that is obviously the case.

Cute naked boys, or wearing the smallest underwear possible. Good bar environment, with a well lit stage and low music volume. Even then, I don't promise to return anywhere near as regularly as I would have 15 years ago. These days, the apps provide a good supply of boys. App boys are less likely to rush back to the bar to find their second or third off of the night.
