This is my trip report for our two weekends in Bangkok. We are an older married couple and when we come to Bangkok we invoke the Bangkok Rule in our relationship, and have a great time at the massage spas. I thought I'd add my experience about sauna Thermas as I've been going there for a few years now. I remember being very nervous the first time!

I totally understand one might be nervous going for the first time, but I've found that most everyone there (from the staff to the providers) are friendly and want to help you relax because happy, relaxed clients spend more money 😉
Ideal times to go are any day between 4pm and 8pm. The busiest days (with the largest number of providers, but also the most clients) are (usually) Wednesday but definitely Friday and Saturday, same time (4pm till 8pm). Outside these hours there will rarely be providers in the sauna.

I wanted to add some comments on Apolo Spa/sauna based on my recent Sunday afternoon visit for the foam party which was great fun.
The entrance fees have already been covered above. It is 600 pesos on Sundays (but including a pair of nice trunks (underwear) from the collection for sale). The guy in the reception is indeed very good looking/handsome. 
I arrived around 4:30PM. Downstairs are the section for changing clothes with lockers and the main room with the bar and the jacuzzi in the corner. A DJ was playing but only a few quests downstairs. Upstairs it was quite busy - 2 saunas (1 wet and 1 dry), dark room, video room and the cubicles with glory holes/cabins (and shower/toilets of course). HotHouse is located close to Republica in Sao Paulo, so not the safest place in Sao Paulo particularly in the middle of the night ... Use uber or taxis to get and to leave from there, avoiding to show your  telephone in the street. 
No sign in the street indicates HotHouse. It is at first floor to the left of a street bar as shown in the pic below.

A security guy stands at the beginning of the steep stairs. He will give you a card which you must show to get your drinks. Price of cover charge is 40 R$ (and you pay all your drinks) or 80 R$ which can be used to pay for drinks : you start paying your drinks when the total of drinks is over 80 R$. Another option, which is advised : 100 R$. In this case, you are seated on a sofa in a VIP place just in front of the strippers who will all come to you to be cuddled (and tipped) and you start paying your drinks when the total of drinks is over 100 R$.
Drinks are rather cheap : beer in tin : R$ 15 ; beer in bottle : R$20 ; soft drink : R$10 ; caipirinha : R$20/40 ; whiskies : R$40/50. 
The security guard at entry will ask you your name and give you a card (which takes 5 seconds) and then start typing on his telephone, changing screens, typing again, ticking boxes, putting a (totally useless) wristband, during 2 to 3 minutes for each customer. Brazilian bureaucracy ...

It depends on the day, but there are around 6 strippers, plus 2 "interactive boys" who will do the live sex show ... and more.
 
Example of strippers present this week end :

In BKK I had the opportunity to go 3 times to massage places. Since I had zero place for spontaneity I pre booked them online. I Lined with all the recommended massage places and found my types (Asian Muscle) in 2 places: Jay Spa & S'sense Suan Plu.
S'sense – I first booked Singha. 90m massage was heaven with him. When I wanted to book him again he was unavailable so I booked Knott – and it was just as satisfying. Great men & great place. 1150 THB for the house and minimum 800 THB for the guy (I gave them both double than that).  
Jay – I booked Phong  - 2000 THB minimum tip as Jay Spa wrote me. He is built perfectly in my opinion. But I wouldn't call that a massage nor did he succeed on bottoming as he said. It was all and all OK but I would not repeat. My husband picked a stunner there for a minimum tip of 3K. Guy's name was Veel and my husband was satisfied.
That’s about it. Was unable to fulfil all the usual stuff I get to do in BKK. But in just one more month I will get my compensation as my husband gave me his blessing for a 2 week Rio & Sao Paulo solo trip.

I have never been to Pattaya either but have been to Bangkok many times. Every time when I tried to make plans for Pattaya, I read some info that says it is great destination for twink lover, and couldn't find much info about other non-twink types(which I prefer). Then I decided to stay in Bangkok only.

If you want to be in the middle of action, you should stay in Surawong/Silom area. The higher end choice is Le Meridien. Tarntawan is also a popular choice thought a bit older. But cheaper price can compensate that. And there is a newcomer Ibis Styles on Silom Rd seems good and close to both actions and BTS station.

From the venues you listed, I think we have similar taste. I would also recommend Sabaidee Spa.

I also recommend Arena. Last time when I was there there were plenty of choices of that type.
