I will be travelling to Senegal and The Gambia in March. All tips are welcome.

Yes; I reported last year that he helped me with an adjustment, refusing to accept payment for twenty minutes plus work. My experience led my partner, who was due to buy a new pair of  spectacles in Pattaya Tai, to use his services instead.  He was very pleased with the service he received; and the price.

I haven't insulted any country or any opinion posted on this blog. 
Referring to my post about my (only) one-week February trip to Ghana, I clearly stated that I am not an expert, and that all my posts are solely based on biased experiences. That said, I genually do believe that the majority of people on this blog are looking for exciting gay encounters and that you find those best in the more closeted countries. Having lived in Egypt myself for three years, I am convinced that the sheer number of (sexual) encounters to be found there is directrly linked to their conservatrive gender-divided culture. 
You definitely should question what you read online, yet let me be clear: making up stories as a 42-year old curious man on a 'travel blog' would be the lowest humanity could fall.

It is very difficult to explain how my experience of Ghana was potentially differenet to someone else's.
However, let me be clear and humble, I have only been one week in the country and as probably already mentioned, it was my first time in Sub Sahara Africa. I therefore am not entitled to generalise or make assumptions about other people's experiences, countries in the region or whatsoever. 
The one thing that surprises me though about some of the reactions posted on this blog is that people seem to make the assumption that if being gay is illegal this automatically leads to no gay activity present. Bizarre. On a personal level, I fondly remember my trip to Iran in 2016. I was 31, travelling by public transport, invited into Persian homes (due to the incredible hospitality I had encoountered), so I can say that I have met 'the Persian / Iranian culture' in these three weeks. In my humble opinion: Tehran (and many other places, mainly cities in the country) is a gay paradise. It's all hidden, out-of-bound and underground, which is what it makes it so sexy and a treasure. On a contrary note: the most boring gay-place on earth in my opinon is Thailand. The men are small, average looking, fake and being gay is as commercialised as a slice of pizza in the US. Again, that's an opinion and obviously, utterly subjective.
Bottom-line: visit Ghana! It's exotic, in full development, beautiful, easy to travel in and the men look approachable, fit, gorgeous and skilled. 
Some detail I even forgot to mention in my previous post: take a seat on the sand after 6 pm on Accra's Labadi Beach and count the amountg of men willing to engage with you in an hour. If I were in the mood that week, boy I would have had fun.

Even though I've read many posts of the region and understood the risky nuance of the scene in the middle east. I think I was just surprised at the way he was talking, which was a bit mean compared to the normal friendly response I am used to seeing in the asian section.
As a newbie who's still just opened his eyes to this "world" and still always only in the planning stage of traveling and "exploring," I can only read and learn from others' contributions and ask questions at the moment.

I think without realising it you are comparing chickens and eggs. 
 Thailand especially is very easy going regarding both homosexuality and the adult sex trade. Hotels and airbnbs etc are open to local sex partners visiting their guests. They have nothing to hide.
 On the other hand in most of the North African countries discussed in this forum, homosexuality is illegal, sex tourists are unwelcome, and it is illegal to entertain a local in a tourists’ hotel room. 
 By necessity contributors here will be more cautious than they would be in the thai forums in order to protect the underground nature of contacts in these countries.

Although I disagree with you on a number of aspects, I like how you enjoy the Middle East to the fullest. Many of the countries in that region have a very different societal set-up from what we are used to in Europe.
To start with, I disagree with your vision of homosexuality in 'the West'. Born in Western Europe in 1984, I am proud of the achievements this region has made in terms of including gay people in every aspect of society. Moreover, other minority groups are equally free to express their identities in the way they wish. All of this is protected by the rule of law and, importantly, accepted by the majority of society. That is a huge achievement and an enormous advantage, and it is not something I believe we should even begin to compare with the situation in the Middle East today.
Allow me to tell you a personal story from my days in Cairo, where I lived between 2015 and 2018. In that post-revolutionary, chaotic society, my Egyptian friends - gay, straight, and everything in between - would dream about the freedoms we Europeans take for granted and seem increasingly willing to sell out to the far right at every election.
In the neighbourhood where I lived, Maadi, gay parties would regularly take place in people's homes. In order not to raise suspicion, girls and 'masculine-looking guys' would be invited as well. At one of these events, the police did show up. One of the neighbours must have called them. I felt terrified. My Egyptian friends looked beyond terrified.
Many of them were detained; others were not. Of those who were detained, most were eventually released, but they spoke about the humiliation they had experienced. Two were kept in the police station for a couple of weeks. Their names and reputations were eventually damaged enormously by the authorities, their families, their friends, and their wider communities. As a foreigner, I was left alone. This is the Middle East. It is beautiful, warm and sexy, but many places are also brutal dictatorships in which you would not want to be born for a millisecond.
I often return to Egypt. In my opinion, it is an amazing yet deeply troubled society. Everyone wants to leave. Many Egyptians feel lost. Depression rates are enormous, and for many, survival is the number one priority. For them, sex can simply be fun. It is an escape. It is a great feeling. It can even be a personal revolt against cultural norms they feel unable to defeat, despite the attempts made during various recent revolutions.
When I am there, I always have great sex. No one questions whether I look masculine or feminine - whatever that might even mean. No one questions my sexuality. Who cares? Different genders? What are you talking about? People just want to have fun. They wantto be aliove, something they seem to miss out on in so many occasions. Unlike in the West, I believe are seen for who you are, regardless of your age, height or body. Perhaps this is because recognising one another, and being recognised by others, has become so important in a society where so much else feels uncertain. It may even be one of the main things people ultimately wish for on a broader, global scale - and something that is deeply embedded in their traditions and culture.
Does all of this make sense?

During my navy days in the 70's I was on HMS Ark Royal, we had been at sea for several months and Norfollk va was our first port of call.
Right outside the dockyard gate was a porno shop with cubicles at the back to sit and watch 8mm cine films on a small screen for a 25 cent in the slot.

And another thing, after several easy dates, all of them guys off street on Sheraton Rd, cab drivers, sex becomes slightly boring. It becomes repetitive, every time I blow a guy at some construction site, a quicky for a small tip.
Seems fun, and it is, but after about a week, several guys every day and night, always outside and not exactly comfortable, slightly risky since you are in an isolated spot... at some point you've had enough. At that point, Hurghada becomes boring, the city itself is nothing spectacular. 
Hurghada is cheap, could stay there for a month or several months, but weather starts getting hotter, day time very hot. If I had managed to find an apartment, would have stayed longer, sex would have been better, I'd feel safer being in my own home, not at abandoned construction site  or behind advertising billboard, blowing a stranger. Hotels are boring and there isn't much to do during a day. 
I ended up taking a Russian charter flight to Cairo and stayed there for few days and then back to Europe. I will return for sure, hopefully more motivated and able to find a private apartment, that would make a huge difference in Hurghada.
Thailand in mid September, staying at least until mid December.. I wish I was attracted to Thai guys. Thailand is always a celibate holiday, good place for long stay but no sex. I wish North Africa had the freedom to do what you want, stay where you like and be able to host, like in Thailand, but then it probably wouldn't be exciting.

In North Africa, we are not looking for straight guys specifically, but guys who make themselves available somehow always happen to be straight.  Could be because these are Muslim nations and there are no other types of guys but straight.
I like top guys, the fact that they are straight makes everything even easier. They do everything I like and they don't do anything I don't want. Small tip, everyone is happy, it's perfect.

Then he goes into what a terrible place this is ..😡.and how the other expats are terrible people,he wished he could go back to his home country etc ,but sold his house , I presume in the UK , I didn't ask him because I couldn't get a word in !!   🗣️🗣️🗣️..non stop whinging...ahhh the old whinging pom quote ,oh don't be racist 
People are wanting money from him and not paying him back , he done favours for expats and when he asked for a favour they didn't, apparently some other expats was driving to Bangkok he did a favour for and he asked if he could get a ride but the guy said no room in his car 🚗 
They are making him go to some office every 90 days for a visa and he is not happy 😠
He is telling me see that expat over there ,don't talk to him etc 
It went on for 30 minutes before I shouted "If you don't like it ..... LEAVE!!!! LEAVE !!!!
He then looked shocked and said ," " your a nasty person ...and why you wearing your sunglasses at night? 😎...I then immediately launched into the 1980s song singing 🎵🎵I wear my sunglasses at night...so I can.. so I can ..see the light 🎵🎵🎶
