The Thai police were not investigated, however 18 months after the arrest of Kevin, Thai police admitted that Kevin had been framed. The drugs (less than 100 yaa baa tablets) were found in a carton of cigarettes, that much is true, however there was overwhelming suspicion the drugs were planted there, and then the party that planted the drugs notified the police of exactly in which carton, and which pack within that carton to find the drugs.
As for the cigarettes having been smuggled, no, they were still in the country of purchase, they had not been smuggled. Kevin was stopped still inside the Pattaya city limits. According to news articles:
"The cigarettes were acquired by his partners, and came from Don Muang airport duty free via a friendly policeman." and "In one of the packets in just one of a staggering 198 cartons police found just under 100 yaa baa tablets.  Quill was not a drug user. It's obvious that Kevin was set up. A carton of Benson and Hedges cigarettes contains 10 packets. Kevin had 198 cartons in his car, so that's 1,980 packets of 20 cigarettes each. Out of the 1,980 cigarette packs, the police knew exactly where the small amount of pills (less than 100 tablets) were hidden, inside just one packet. How is it the police did not open the other 1,979 cigarette packs?

It's highly unusual that upon finding illegal drugs, that police searching for contraband would stop looking after finding less than 100 tablets, leaving all the other cartons unopened.

Here my takeaways from a trip to Sousse in September. I spent about 6 days there.
You can find what you like, but you need to be focused and patient.
Corniche of Sousse - I was there twice and I walked back and forth - nobody is looking of approaching you even if you are alone. I saw families with small kids and parents walking together and mostly groups of guys and women hanging together. They all just ignore you. I didn't see single guys or girls looking for meetings or even attention. Waste of time.

They have men who work there (and not bad looking) but it feels rushed and they were not interested to play.
Royal Jinene Spa. Things are more interesting here. They have ladies and guy (who acts like receptionist and manager). If you choose a guy he is very nice in massage - very sensual, completely naked and they have enough privacy to feel comfortable. He also offered happy ending.

Le Monaco Spa and Thalasso. They also have women and one young guy working. I visited twice. I haven't insulted any country or any opinion posted on this blog. 
Referring to my post about my (only) one-week February trip to Ghana, I clearly stated that I am not an expert, and that all my posts are solely based on biased experiences. That said, I genually do believe that the majority of people on this blog are looking for exciting gay encounters and that you find those best in the more closeted countries. Having lived in Egypt myself for three years, I am convinced that the sheer number of (sexual) encounters to be found there is directrly linked to their conservatrive gender-divided culture.

It is very difficult to explain how my experience of Ghana was potentially differenet to someone else's.
However, let me be clear and humble, I have only been one week in the country and as probably already mentioned, it was my first time in Sub Sahara Africa. I therefore am not entitled to generalise or make assumptions about other people's experiences, countries in the region or whatsoever. 
The one thing that surprises me though about some of the reactions posted on this blog is that people seem to make the assumption that if being gay is illegal this automatically leads to no gay activity present. Bizarre. On a personal level, I fondly remember my trip to Iran in 2016. I was 31, travelling by public transport, invited into Persian homes (due to the incredible hospitality I had encoountered), so I can say that I have met 'the Persian / Iranian culture' in these three weeks. In my humble opinion: Tehran (and many other places, mainly cities in the country) is a gay paradise. It's all hidden, out-of-bound and underground, which is what it makes it so sexy and a treasure. On a contrary note: the most boring gay-place on earth in my opinon is Thailand. The men are small, average looking, fake and being gay is as commercialised as a slice of pizza in the US. Again, that's an opinion and obviously, utterly subjective.
Bottom-line: visit Ghana! It's exotic, in full development, beautiful, easy to travel in and the men look approachable, fit, gorgeous and skilled.
