The thing to understand about Bangkok is that if you reserve a room for 2 people , in 99% of the cases you will have no problem with visitors. That said you need to remember that by US or Brazil standard, hotels are ridiculously cheap.. One member here just recently stayed at The Courtyard for $60. Believe me the courtyard in Bangkok is nothing like Courtyards in the USA. So you may find Holiday Inns , Radissons, Park Inns etc in this price range. The other thing to remember is transportation ( taxis etc is also very cheap). I have a feeling you will want to travel to some of the Massage Parlors during the day . Some of the best ones such as Hero are not in the Gay GoGo Bar area. Yet that is where many very nice Hotels are at bargain basement rates. Not to discourage you from Tartawan because it is certainly a good choice for a first time visitor. Always worth checking Booking.com , Agoda etc for better rates. The reviews on Booking are the best because only checked out guests can post reviews. I know way back when Tartawan did not have safes in all the rooms. Not sure now but I like having a safe especially with overnight guests although Thai boys are overwhelmingly honest . We have members here that spend a few nights at 2 or 3 hotels. If you pack light that is easy to do in Bangkok. I think your best bet is search on Booking etc and narrow down to 3 Hotels and then post those for comments by anyone who may have stayed there. Unlikely you will find a Hotel that a number of members have not stayed at. Probably should look at Raya Surawong Hotel. They give large advance booking discounts once you have secured your flights . Gets great reviews . Upscale at reasonable prices and next door to the Gay Bars.

I think Royal House has separate rooms. Also All of Me in Sunee

I used China Air recently which is a Taiwan based airline. Very pleased with the service and used DL miles. You have to call DL because they don't always post availability.

Narai is famous for that and to be avoided at all costs. The overwhelming number of hotels could care less about guests as long as you reserved the room for 2 people. At worst they may want to see or keep the ID.

Use the search function first. You will find mountains of information available. After that if you still have questions I 'm sure many will help. As far as how long. No way anyone can answer that. Depends how far you are travelling, how much you have to spend etc etc etc.

Although I have not used Uber I can see why they have been successful. I don't think price is the reason. Knowing that when I take an elevator down and walk out in the rain , my ride will be there. Knowing that is likely the driver will no where he is going and will get there in the quickest manner is another reason. When I get in taxis all over the world I am amazed with the exception of London that: 1. They don't know where they are going. 2. I have no idea if they are taking the shortest route 3. Certainly I find no consistency in the quality or cleanliness of the vehicle or conversation ability of the driver. Government regulations of the service mean very little to me because all I see is a Taxi. I have no idea whether the liscence is real, when it was last inspected. Certainly in Bangkok I would have absolutely no faith in the Government doing its job.

Lots of good points if I thought taxis were actually inspected and had insurance etc etc etc. I certainly don't in many cases . At times I have been in taxis that are falling apart and I have to wonder if they adhere to any of the rules that the Government supposedly enforces.. I have also been in some really new and nice taxis where the drivers had GPS etc. Bottom line I think it is a crapshoot taxis vs Uber. I have not used Uber but I can imagine how great it is to order a car to pick me up at Hero in the rain when no taxis exist.

I use Airbnb a lot outside of Thailand. I was surprised by how many apartments they have in the $500 range. Just be very careful. Some are very tiny, size of cheap hotel room. But there appear to be some not that far from Sunee that look pretty good.

I would suggest you go to www.gaybuttonthai.com and join and post that same request. Has a lot more Pattaya residents that may be able to suggest something where you get most of what you want. I doubt you'll find a gym worth using but I believe a pool may be possible. Month to month might be possible as long as you are not planning on high season.

Note the picture of the boy was taken from the Balcony of the Presidential Suite. And lets not forget you stole my boy sitting in front of my room and subsequently he become a favorite of yours . Never would have happened except for the checking into the best suite in Welcome Plaza. HeHe. I have to admit my taste improved in regards to Hotels after that but never could stomach the high rates at Marriott in Pattaya for tiny rooms and even tinier bathrooms. Great Pool and fabulous breakfast if it was included not if you had to pay for it.

Of course you could spice it up a little by going back to your treasure trove of photos from that time and posting them. I can dream. HeHe

What planet are you on? Many countries block the internet or restrict access to certain sites . Free exchange of ideas and thoughts does not exist in many countries and believe it or not there are many countries where the majority of the population could not afford it even if permissible .
