In North Africa, we are not looking for straight guys specifically, but guys who make themselves available somehow always happen to be straight.  Could be because these are Muslim nations and there are no other types of guys but straight.

As for Marrakesh itself, hotels/riads are difficult but whilst apartments are easier - lots have a guard and sometimes an entry camera too.
I'd be very selective who you bring back if they think easy money/pleasure then you might not get rid. That's not counting those with sticky fingers and scammers.

Those days are long behind me but the memories of almost all the occasions in North Africa burn brighter than most of the couplings in Thailand.

If they're interested, they'll usually ask if you're married etc.
I usually say I'm visiting with friends but they're away at the moment (e.g. on a tour) as that means your not totally alone if there are any issues.

It's fine as long you accept the opportunities can be random and you take basic precautions in terms of safety. 
I've personally stayed in apartments and hotels with some success at both.

Whilst he was younger, he did some kind of apprenticeship at the EU Commission in Brussels and apparently frequented certain bar/clubs there.
He also has a long term bodyguard/friend MMA Abu Azaitar and likes to travel outside Morocco very low-key

I always advocate for Tunisia due to the following reasons :
cheap return flights from Italy, France, Switzerland off season cost 100-120 eur 
u can find sex for 15-20 eur while it costs 40-60 eur in Morocco 
pretty safe and open for gay sex tourists , the majority of crime is related to theft rather than a personal threat with knife or machette in Morocco 
Guys 18-30 yo are the most open minded in North Africa 
big european expat community 
 
Algeria isn't an open country at all, Its more muslim compared to Morocco , while the majority of gay sex is free , it requires pretty good French or arabic and a long How To process

Morocco is the most expensive and the most unsafe country in NA while the best quality of food, hotels, restorants and all other services. 
Tunisia is cheap safe while its a very dirty country and quality of everything is on the average level.
Egypt is very cheap while the quality might disappoint u. I always get my stomach upset while staying in Egyptian hotels.
Algeria is very nice and very affordable. Great people and European colonial style. Visa is required.
Lybia is pretty unsafe and not touristic at all.

Mine were toned and were fine to talk to also - in my experience, the local guys usually have decent bodies until they hit 30.
I do like a bit of rough too but they all seem to smoke and haggle alot 🤣 

None of these guys are available in Grindr.  I spot them via FB , in cafe , walking up & down on the corniche , in the train.
Gridr is the real piece of shit in arab countries : 
scammers, ugly bastards , thieves, all of them are never interested in your personality and are looking for quick cash for nothing.

Safety is always an issue if hiring an apartment/airbnb in these locations rather than a hotel. 
I had a non-safety issue in Morocco when I hired an airbnb off-season. A local taxi driver decided that he wanted to become my personal chauffeur for my visit. 
He was probably available too. Maybe mid-twenties but very skinny and like lots of locals smoked etc so wasn't aging well.
He would try to pick me up several times a day, was regularly parked at the exit from the street whenever I came out on foot, offered to get me hashish, a wife, hookers etc.
He was annoying but harmless. I can imagine not all locals are and might be problematic without the barrier of a hotel location.

My sis in law went to Marrakech recently for a girls weekend away and they hired a whole Riad. 
She did say there was a local person - cleaner, cook or maintaince guy there most of the time if they had any issues.

Me and a friend rented a whole riad in Marrakech with the thought, it would be easier to bring guys back.

Never did I imagine they'd keep an onsite "keeper" that was a pain in the ass he was always lurking around somewhere. We brought guys back and he got in touch with the people I booked from ratting me out. They told me I'm not supposed to have local guests, this was before Airbnb by the way.

Wouldn't you know it, the next night he was either smoking hash or drinking and showed up tipsy knocking at my door, rubbing his crotch, he wanted me to suck him or fuck me.... he wasn't good looking or I would've, so I ratted him out to the booking place and they sent him away, we had the place to ourselves after that.
