If you want to stay near gay area, try Le Meridan or Crown Plaza. Both are near gay bars and easy to get to malls, etc in daytime. The malls are fun. If you want to stay a bit out, try one of the Holiday Inn or Marriott Executive Apartments out on Sukhumvit. You will be a bit away from things but close to the BTS to get into city. However, on first trip, I'd say in Silom area just to be near all gay areas. IMHO

I went to the new Hero yesterday, called My Hero. The place looks fantastic. They have moved the entrance down a bit so walk a bit further. I was even beginning to wonder if I was in the right area. The inside is great. The rooms are beautiful with showers, and beds and there is a really nice Jacuzzi suit coming that I had a look at and it was very nice. Is anyone watching the Emerald City TV Show? It is a modern take on the Wizard of Oz. It is a bit weird for me to watch. It is like the took the story over to the dark side of things. I did like the rainbow in the window of Aunt Em's house and the monkey statue as part of the navigation system of the city. The Wizard apparently banned magic in the kingdom. The Yellow Brick Road is made of poppy. So, there are many familiar things to the story. I didn't quite get the boy who turned into a girl (please explain if you know what is going on in that theme). Overall, it was nice to see a story about Oz even if a different story than I like. However, Oz still is great and powerful and that is a good thing!
