a447a I understand that I don't think the police in BKK will keep us safe from anything that will happen. But, I don't see this place as a major target. I think the bombing was a one off thing and doubt anything major will happen. But, you are right, you just never know. I feel safe when in Thailand but I do so not because of anyone making me feel safe but just the sense that I get. My hotel is right near where the bombing occurred and I have no worry walking by it every day or going in that or any other area. I do feel safe in USA as well. But, I was in New York 911 and I moved out of there 1 year later so I guess I didn't feel as safe as I did before that happened.

December 2015 adventures- Bangkok and Pattaya trip
TotallyOz replied to vinapu's topic in Gay Thailand
I use to spend most of my time in Pattaya and that was when I was constantly hunting for boys. Now, I am happy with the 2 I have (for now) and usually spend more time in Hua Hin or Bangkok. I can't even remember my last night in Pattaya. But, for me, it is more that everytime I go there I have tons of exes asking for money and I double my cost per day by helping them out. Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin or Chiang Mai. It doesn't matter. The best experience for gogo boys by far is any city in Thailand! -
I have been curious reading about the success that many have with the apps on their mobile phones. I have been testing them on this trip and found a few ones that I like and others that seem useless to me. Hornet - I like Hornet as I am getting the most responses from it. Naturally, that makes it my favorite. But, the design is not my favorite. I like the way Hornet does photos and has the little bubbles at the top to show whether or not the user had more photos or private photos. Scruff - I think scruff has the most features of any of the apps. I like the possibilities that it offers. There are not too many younger twinks on the site, but I do like the way it works and the information you can see from others. Personally, I like the design of this one the best. Jackd - I do like the way they show photos on the main page and not just one photo like Grindr. Jackd seems to have many guys in Bangkok and in Thailand and thus, it is good to log on and find members. Grindr - This has been the mainstay but I find I get too many spam solicitations on here. I am not sure how people send messages that have not logged in for days and thousands of miles away, but it is annoying. I’d be curious as to which app brings you the best luck in Thailand? What about when at home? What features do you like the most?

December 2015 adventures- Bangkok and Pattaya trip

I am always amazed at how fast things change in Thailand. Just a few years back, BBB sucked and had the worst show in Pattaya. Now, it has not only turned around and done a full face turnabout, but it is even bringing people to Pattaya. I think this just goes to show what many have said for years. If you have hot guys, a good atmosphere and a good show, the people will come. Or, said another way: if you build it, they will cum. -
I just put a photo of Justin Beiber on my vacuum and let it roam around the room naked.

Excellent report! I have stayed at VT6 and no issues. But, I don't mind them taking ID cards there or at hotels. It is for my own safety. I know often a PITA but it is OK with me. Most places in Thailand do not do this that I have stayed at. But, every place I visit in Brazil requires this and security will make sure they have this before someone goes to your room.

So doesn't this mean that we should be taking our passports with us on each and every trip out? Or, maybe just to the gogo areas? I usually just have a copy with me and hate to take the passport as I fear it will get lost.

I have friends that love their Irobot Rooba vacuum cleaner. I had thought of bringing one over a few years back but would had to have the wattage adapter replaced. I didn't want to do that so I didn't get it. Yesterday, as I was looking in the Apple store (not real one but the authorized sales one) in Central Festival I walked around and found the Rooba. I was shocked as I have never seen one of them overseas before. Has anyone purchased one here? Does anyone use these great devices?
-
I was just in Central Plaza and the hottest gay boy I have seen in a while was there (with his very young farang BF who was about 20). It was obvious this might be a freebie but I stared anyway and I smiled and I smiled. LOL I got up from the Dim Sum Restaurant to go to the bathroom and when done, the boy was there without the young farang. He said, "here is my number. call me." I was touched that he was so attracted to me that he was willing to go with me. Or, perhaps he was just looking for a client to pay for his free night off work? In any case, I'll use the number. Yes, Jacked was busy and so was Grindr. I have yet to use hornet. But, yes, the malls are delicious eye candy and many gay guys hand in hand. I love it!
-
I can't call them a fag bag. But, most people tell me they are man bags.
-
I have traveled a lot over the years, but I love the malls in Bangkok more than anywhere. I am not sure if it is the vast variety of things they offer or just the sexy Thai guys that smile when you walk by but I do love shopping in Thailand and the malls are divine. I found some great bags yesterday at Siam Paragon and had dinner downstairs. Lovely food and great place. Did I mention sexy Thai guys around every corner?

December 2015 adventures- Bangkok and Pattaya trip

I had a friend that owned one of the largest and most successful escort agencies in New York City. He always told his clients to never fall in love with a hooker as the relationship will always be about money. You can wine and dine a hooker and buy them a BMW and even a house. But, in the end, the money is the crux of the relationship. (I am just glad my boys love me for me and not my money as I am different than anyone else.) LOL -
I won't be there but I always get there in the summer. Merry Xmas to you!

ihpguy is a wealth of information and his guiding allowed me to see Rio differently than I ever had before. A truly wonderful guy and a someone willing to give great advice to see things off the beaten path.

I have only one right now in Thailand. He is in the living room with me as it is 9AM. The other one is still in asleep in bed.

Can you really trust them not to date others? No I want them to have money enough to make the decision to do things that make them happy. The only thing I get is a bit of satisfaction in knowing they are happy and their lives are better. One of the 2 is about to finish college (one day in the future in a galaxy far away) and the other one has a son to support. For me, it is totally worth the money just to know they are OK and have money to make their own decisions in life. You would be surprised at how many want this to happen. I have heard so many times over the years when a guy meets a boy in a bar and gives him a bit of money and then doesn't understand why he returns to the bar so fast. It is his work. This is what he does for a living. As long as one can understand this, they will be better off. IMHO Excellent. I hope each night gets a great rating for you! -
I saw it today and loved it. The boys were not as excited as I was but they said it was good. I think they may have missed the earlier ones and some of the story gets lost if you don't know all the characters and back history. However, I agree with Firecat that this will be a great success for Disney and well worth their initial investment!

December 2015 adventures- Bangkok and Pattaya trip

In my personal opinion, if your bf is not paid year round, there should be no expectation of anything. I know many who have BF for a few weeks or months a year and expect them to stay home and be waiting for their return while not paying them. Anyone that is working is fair game. Like you, I do like to see what the BF is up to but it has been less and less over the years and now I talk to them once a week or so and that is it. I have 2 LTB that I support year round and I have greater expectations of them but I am even open to that as well. They both have women and lives outside of me and that makes me happy. If they wish to work in a bar that is OK with me as long as I know and can adjust my contribution to their weekly income. -
I am off to see this today and am very excited!

Your reports are great! Thanks so much for sharing all the great information with us. I'm going to give both Tawan and Jupitar another try based on your reports. I think things may change time after time and am always willing to spend a few dollars to check in on a place. -
Thank you for the great reports. I really did enjoy them and also the photos. Like you, I enjoy Sao Paulo a great deal and I also enjoy Rio. It is hard for me to pick between the 2. I seem to like LaGoa over any place in Brazil for my last few trips but I also like 117 and Meio Mundo. I have not been to Brazil in over a year so my next trip I'll do both cities again. For me, it only takes one special lad to make the city for me. In cities of many million Brazilians, that is often easy to find.

I got into Thailand last night on a flight from Dubai and the airport lines were packed. I did fly Business Class and got a free bypass to the Premium Lane but that was still packed and took over 30 minutes. I know, that is not a bad wait time for most countries but for here and the Premium Lane, it was the slowest I have seen in a while. The airport both inside and outside was packed. The immigration officer said that this weekend was supposed to be the busiest of the year for incoming tourists. It sure looked like it.

I always like to have a good Internet connection when I am in Thailand. I usually get the BF to call and sign me up but he was late getting to my hotel on my first night and so I went online and found one myself. I signed up for the 30 day package for 239 bath and the speed was over 8M download today. Great deal for those of us that do not want to sign up for service and want good internet. For those traveling and have a SIM card, I used this page to find what I needed. http://www.ais.co.th/3g-one-2-call/en/package-addon-detail.aspx?type=1&id=19

Just Back From Havana....

Thanks for the report and the photos. Both were excellent. Odd question: Do the boys not have lots of tattoos there? -
And, some wonder why someone repeats the same thing time after time. I get it. I don't get it. But, I do try to get it. I do believe that adults can control their own conversation and moderate their own discussion. I have always felt the same. I know that some disagree with me and I hate that not everyone believes exactly as I do as the world would be so much easier (for me at least). I have just not understood why people don't use the ignore feature for each and every person that they do not wish to see posts and threads by. To me, this is the easiest and simplest way to live on a message board when not everyone agrees with you.
