I had a very productive year in 2013. No complaints at all. The year ends with me helping take care of an elderly family member for a prolonged amount of time. I never really thought I'd be back in Alabama for more than a week at a time but it looks like I'll be spending more time in the deep south this year than I did since I left when I was 18. Business wise, I am looking forward to 2014. I have some fun things in store.

The old man is a preacher for the Church of Christ. It is a church that is even more conservative than the Baptist Church. His sons actually went to college at a Church of Christ school. I did as well. Let me tell you, it was the same ideology that has been spewed from the pulpits for 50 years. I am not condoning the old fucker. Johnny Cash was a tremendous talent and I grew up listening to his music and his wife June Carter Cash. Being from Alabama, the gospel music and country music was just all we had and while I grew away from it the older I got, I still have great memories of the good songs along the way. My family also loved Johnny Cash and I remember once we were driving by his home in Nashville and we got out to takes some photos and both Johnny and his wife came to the gate and chatted with us. He was a kind and gracious man and very humble.

It is a very sad country. And, I find the lack of sexuality in the country part of the problem with many things. The people are sexually repressed. Repression causes sexual deviance. IMHO. Rapes are rampant throughout the country. Gang Rapes are prevalent. Do you think any of this has to with with trying to control the sexual needs of citizens?

Driving from Hua Hin to Bangkok today, there were literally 300 or more vans of people being bused in for Monday's demonstrations. Several were gathered together at one rest stop and the BF and our driver chatted with them. They all came from down south and are avid yellow shirt supporters. It was interesting to see the vans at midnight covering the road. I hope this does not turn into the mess it looks like.
