What memory from the past makes you smile the most?
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
It wasn't bullying I assure it. It was done by loved ones whom I have "rolled" tons of times over the years. It was funny and perfect pay back. I was almost a Christian minister. Had it not been for my gay gene, most likely I would have stayed the course. I loved it then. Now, 30 years have passed and my philosophy has changed but it changed because of the paths I chose. Had I not chosen those paths, I'd likely be married, a preacher and spending weekends in bathhouses when I could get away from my wife. Now, hi, what is your memory that makes you smile the most? -
We have all lived lives full of adventure and fun and work and love, etc. Looking back over your life, what memory makes you smile the most? For me, it goes back to my teen years and my "thing" was rolling yards. Yes, taking toilet paper and cover a friends yard was great fun for me. When I was 16, my mom got me a new baby blue Firebird. It was my joy. Well, one day at church, all the kids I taught in Sunday school were laughing and I knew something was up, I just didn't know what. Everyone was starring at me. I went outside and right in the church parking lot was my beautiful baby blue car rolled with hundreds of rolls of toilet paper. Not only the outside, but the inside had so much paper that I could not sit down. It was payback for years of mischief. Still, to this day I look back at that moment and smile. Sometimes I even laugh out-loud at the crazy things I use to try to pull and in one swoop, the whole gang got together and changed the colorr of my car from blue to white. My best friend said, "only Charmin for your car as we know how you like softness."

Beiber has a new friend. A real cutie. I wonder what he sees in him? Other than the musical talent?

Here I am in India and sadly I have not had much time for this site and I come here to see a thread I don't quite understand where it came from but more importantly, people are posting photos of my beloved Wizard of Oz characters in a thread that talks about poop. I never. I say I never!

CNN answers question about demonstrations in Thailand
TotallyOz replied to daddydawg's topic in Gay Thailand
It seems to me that no matter what happens and who is elected the opposing party will protest and try to bring down the government. What is the solution to this? What does it take for the people to be satisfied with a duly elected leader? -
Interesting Rio Video's
TotallyOz replied to Bucknaway1614502762's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Bucknaway, he has some good videos. ihpguy hooked me on a New York Times writer a while back that writes from his adventures from less likely places in Brazil. He writes a column called The Frugal Traveler. It is great stuff and I got some great info on a recent trip to Salvador and Fortaleza from the articles. Here is one of his latest articles: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/10/travel/in-rio-and-sao-paulo-go-north.html?_r=0 -
Adorable! When you met them was one of them missing a slipper? I have one I have been trying on boys for years and it never really fits. This one might be the one.

To help a contestant struggling with his sexuality, The Biggest Loser Trainer Bob Harper, made the courageous decision to come out publicly as a gay man during Tuesdays episode of the show. Bobby had admitted on the show that he was gay, but had not yet been able to come out to his father. I havent talked about my sexuality on this show ever, Bob said to the cameras. And now, meeting Bobby, I really do believe this is the right time. I want to show Bobby that he doesnt have to live in shame. When I came out, when I was 17 years old, it was one of those things where I realized that there was going to be so many obstacles, but being gay doesnt mean being weak, he told Bobby. And being gay doesnt mean that you are less than anybody else. Its just who you are. http://www.thegailygrind.com/2013/11/27/biggest-loser-trainer-bob-harper-comes-gay-help-contestant-video/

You mean this one? So, you mean: "Well, technically that's true."

There are about 500 million Buddhists worldwide, but it's unclear exactly when in history this religion began. The Buddha's life story spread first through oral tradition, and little physical evidence about Buddhism's early years has been found. Now, scientists for the first time have uncovered archaeological evidence of when the Buddha's monumentally influential life occurred. Excavations in Nepal date a Buddhist shrine, located at what is said to be the Buddha's birthplace, to the sixth century B.C. The research, published in the journal Antiquity, describes the remains of a timber structure about the same size and shape as a temple built at the same site in the third century B.C. Archaeologists also found reason to think that a tree grew at the center of this ancient structure, lending support to the traditional story that the Buddha's mother held onto a tree branch while giving birth to him. "This is one of those rare occasions when belief, tradition, archaeology and science actually come together," lead study author Robin Coningham, professor at Durham University in the United Kingdom, said at a press briefing Monday. If this study is correct, the Buddha's actual life could have overlapped with a popularly recognized time frame of 563-483 B.C. But lots of other date ranges for the Buddha have been tossed around -- some scholars say 448 to 368 B.C., for instance. http://edition.cnn.com/2013/11/25/world/asia/buddha-birthplace-buddhist-shrine/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

Well, technically, let me tell you that you never know who is a moderator on a site and who is not unless their primary group is set to Moderator. Anyone can have Mod permissions but their primary group is set to Member and thus they do not show on the list and you don't know who they are. Now, why would anyone want such a thing? Lets look at the history of the Gay Thailand message boards and see those that are openly moderators and often times are given hell not only on the board but in person by other people. One example I'll use is GayButton. When he was a moderator on this board, his friends gave him a hard time based on him not banning certain posters. They didn't just PM him on the board, they did it at dinner, etc. Who the hell wants that kind of shit? Having run hundreds of boards in my life, I would always recommend to anyone on this board if they wish to be a moderator and are asked to help out that they do not do it under their own screen name they post with. This is just something I came to realize over the years and not something I have known for 10 years. However, that is a recommendation I make only on this board and other gay Thailand related boards. On these boards many people are known as they walk down the streets of Sunee or Boyztown, etc. and it makes it hard for them if they make a decision that others don't agree with. And, as a mod, you always make decisions that someone doesn't agree with. It is the nature of the job. For Admins, they can also log in anonymously. I know this is shocking to some but it is an admin option. I am not saying that Scooby is using that as I don't know and I have not talking to him in weeks. But, I do know it is an option. So, don't come up with conspiracy theories just yet. I do know two moderators check many times each day as I see them online often.

For now, it would work just fine but I do plan on retiring to LOS one day and much prefer to just keep the same policy. I did think this new plan would make this easier for me but it has had the opposite effect.

I like both sites. But, they are sales sites and not profile sites. There is a big difference between them. I'd love every site to look like Apple's site as I think it is simple and beautiful. But, it is just not possible from a design perspective.

I like any color scheme where the text is readable. I have seen sites in all black and I can't read them.

Who said there were no more moderators? Just curious.

I have been excited to see the new plans and while the costs are greatly reduced in NYC where I live, they do not provide overseas coverage for anything but emergencies. In the past Blue Cross / Blue Shield would provide overseas coverage if done through a Blue Cross provider. That does not seem to be the case now. I also looked at California plans and they have also limited overseas coverage. Has anyone spent time with the sites and trying to figure out if they will get coverage while visiting Thailand or other places under the new rules and if the new rules are just allowing these companies to offer less coverage overseas?
