TotallyOz replied to TownsendPLocke's topic in European Men and Destinations
This sounds like an amazing trip. I know you will have a blast! -
This is an important move for our community. I also love they make this for all 50 states as well as for allowing overseas marriages to count.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - All legally wed gay couples, no matter which state they live in, are entitled to the same U.S. federal tax benefits as married heterosexual couples, the Obama administration said on Thursday. The U.S. Treasury ruling, following a landmark Supreme Court decision in June, means that whether a married gay couple lives in New York, which recognizes gay marriage, or Oklahoma, which does not, federal tax benefits and responsibilities apply. The Supreme Court on June 26 invalidated a key portion of a 1996 federal law, known as the Defense of Marriage Act, which had defined marriage as between a man and a woman. There was some uncertainty after the Supreme Court ruling about how the tax status of gay married couples would be treated in dozens of states that have laws against gay marriage. "Today's ruling provides certainty and clear, coherent tax filing guidance for all legally married same-sex couples nationwide. It provides access to benefits, responsibilities and protections under federal tax law that all Americans deserve," Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said. http://news.yahoo.com/treasury-grants-wide-tax-recognition-same-sex-couples-182041850.html

I think he said he is keeping up with the items for himself but that he is sharing it with others so that others might benefit from it. I know that sharing on different boards is important as many members do not cross over from one board to another and you also get different responses on the boards. Personally, for me, I am glad Christian shares on all the boards. Otherwise, I would have missed this thread and I did share this with some friends who are not on this board but wanting to move to Thailand to make a documentary and asked about expenses.

You will find this Guesthouse on a stretch of Jomtien beach. This is a paradise location in Pattaya. It is beachfront and close to the beginning section of the Gay Beach Area. Tui's Place is a place that you go to getaway from all the craziness. You will have a short two minute walk to transportation into the downtown if you feel the need for some fun in some of the gay areas like BOYZTOWN or SUNEE Plaza. It's for to you to decide! You will find a restaurant with Thai and Western food. You can have breakfast looking out over the ocean at very reasonable prices. You will find no elevator in this Guest House but a huge and gorgeous swimming pool that belongs to high rise condo's behind, not to sure how their manage that but it's available for you's that wish to stay at their guesthouse. This is more a bar then a restaurant because when you need food they will get it from other restaurants in the area. It's a good place to sit at during the evening. It's not big place like Telephone Pub but more laid back. Just sit and relax watching the boys walk by with nicely priced drinks of 60-100 baht. Please let us know about your experience? I loved the first quote at the bottom of this article! It is sad to see how such hatred and bigotry can really be around today. http://www.advocate.com/news/world-news/2013/08/28/russia-raids-gay-peoples-homes

Thanks Firecat. You may have just changed my itinerary!

Fountainhall was a great poster and contributor to the site. His decision to retire is a sad one for all of us. He always had great information and was informative on a wide variety of subjects. He will be missed! I hope he decides one day to return.

It was a reality show that put about 10 couples in the wilderness and they had challenges and adventures. I thought it would be silly but I quite liked the idea. But, the moderator choose each week who he thought would not "get out alive" and they were gone. They had 2 gay guys from WeHo and they left because they were not more verbally supportive of a guy with a leg issue. Stupid and many of the others he chose to leave were just as silly. But, up until the campfire evictions each night it was fun to watch.

My sheets are changed daily. but, I live in a hotel right now. If I were in my own place, I would do them once per week.

The boys and I are thinking of going to Beijing for a week next month. I started looking for tickets and Thai Air is very expensive. The cheapest ticket I saw was from Hong Kong Air. Has anyone used them? Any experiences good or bad is greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone have a travel agent they recommend in Bangkok?

I was thinking of something like this but with work stations.

It was with great difficulty (not out of the woods yet) but also I learned a long time ago that throwing money at a problem often solves it. So, I just had my programmers chained down in their offices and only one bathroom break ever 9 hours. (being generous, I did put a few buckets under the desks for emergencies)

Justice Ginsburg’s Terrifying Assessment Of Her Own Court
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
Thanks Lucky but I was being very serious. The SCOTUS is a non partisan group. We all know this. We know they interpret laws with no prejudices. I mean, don't they normally agree on all issues and thus why the mandates are handed down? LOL Too funny hito! -
Fabulous report. Thank you. Several great photos as well. I love the architecture of Brasilia. The Hotel you are staying at looks beautiful. Please tell us more when you have time as I will stay there on my next visit. Love the photos. Is Jefferson in the military now?

Mr. Bill, I loved Northwest. I was elite with them so my experience may have been different than most but I always had great service and their site was easy to navigate to find good deals on Business Class seats for upgraded and rewards. Delta's website SUCKS. IMHO But, I find I keep getting stuck with them.

Walmart is the largest employer in the USA (except the Federal govt). They have stated that starting in 2014 that domestic partners will be covered. Nice. http://money.cnn.com/2013/08/27/news/companies/walmart-same-sex-benefits/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

We have been working very hard to finalize the City Guides Edit Functionality on the main part of the website. It is live for all to try and to test and we have already had over 20 articles edited and approved. As long as you are logged into the site, you should see an edit button at the very top of the article. You can then edit our words that you feel should have been different, add things that you want to see, or change any part of the article. This was a great suggestion a few months back and the recent issue with some of my writing not being appropriate had my teams working in overdrive to make this part of the guides live. We hope that everyone will use this and if you know a city like the back of your hand, PLEASE help us to improve on the information we give to others. As always, thank you all for being a member of this great site! We appreciate each and every one of you!
