I realize that many are posting for the contest. I should have been more clear in the rules. But, please do not reopen topics older than 3 months unless there is a need to do so. From here on out, if a post is opened that is older than 3 months, a moderator has the right to place it invisible which means it will not count toward the a tally. I apoloigze for this in advance but some very old threads are being revived and while some of the comments are still useful, they have run their course. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

I can't access the SGT board. It says the account is suspended. That may mean the hosting has not been paid and as soon as they pay, the board will be live again. This does not look like it is a problem with the government censoring the board. It seems to be more of an account issue with their hosting company.

The BF was watching Thai TV and they had a TV crew talking about a raid in Boyztown last night and the bar X boys. Has anyone seen any news reports of this?

When someone lives overseas most of the year, you often yearn for home and to keep in touch with your country. There are many ways to do this and I am sure some of you will give some great advice on this. One of my favorite things when I was in USA was to read The New Yorker. I missed it when I left years ago. I have now been a New Yorker Digital subscriber for years. I love reading the magazine and as a digital subscriber, you get access to ALL the old issues and articles. It is pretty amazing. I wanted to test the site on my IPad and I was pretty amazed they they very quietly updated their site to recognize the IPad and direct you to a nice way to use their service. I still prefer to read my weekly digital issue on the computer, but the new IPad structure tells me they just keep up with the times. http://www.newyorker.com/

I had a great time meeting so many people. The company was great. The stories kept me entertained. Thank you to all who came. A special thanks to Ya and his staff for hosting a great party. They did a fantastic job and were very in tune to what we needed all night. Salt and Pepper catered the event and IMHO, the food was great. Everyone seem to enjoy it and the Chicken Wraps were a big hit. Thanks to Scooby who paid for the food for the evening. It was great that they suggested we have this before I leave LOS. Several of us wandered into Nice Boys after the event to take some M & M's. The boys loved them. Again, it was great to meet so many of you. I hope we do this again.

Associated Press Cuba embraces 2 surprising free-market reforms By WILL WEISSERT (AP) HAVANA — Cuba has issued a pair of surprising free-market decrees, allowing foreign investors to lease government land for up to 99 years — potentially touching off a golf-course building boom — and loosening state controls on commerce to let islanders grow and sell their own fruit and vegetables. The moves, published into law in the Official Gazette on Thursday and Friday and effective immediately, are significant steps as President Raul Castro promises to scale back the communist state's control of the economy while attempting to generate new revenue for a government short on cash. "These are part of the opening that the government wants to make given the country's situation," said Oscar Espinosa Chepe, a state-trained economist who is now an anti-communist dissident. Cuba said it was modifying its property laws "with the aim of amplifying and facilitating" foreign investment in tourism, and that doing so would provide "better security and guarantees to the foreign investor." http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gG8qLd4ozL5rvaQHbiJPOHvtnRpQD9HS34FO0

It has since been revealed that Aldhouse and his girlfriend hired a taxi to take them from Phuket to Koh Samui. Along the way they got a bus to Bangkok, then made their way to the Klong Yai checkpoint at the Cambodian border. Mr Aldhouse was able to depart the country into Cambodia at the remote checkpoint, which has no on-line connection with Thailand's Immigration database. Immigration Police only realized Aldhouse had slipped out of the country six hours after the fact. The unnamed girlfriend, who returned to Bangkok by bus, was later picked up for questioning by police. She confessed to her role in aiding Aldhouse's escape and told investigators of his plan to return to England. However, British sources familiar with the case told the Gazette that Aldhouse had fled the UK years before, after serving two years in a Birmingham jail for his part in an armed robbery. He served two years of a five-year sentence for illegal gun possession, the source said http://www.phuketgazette.net/news/detail.asp?id=9151

Eager shoppers and employees at the Big C shopping complex in North Pattaya were thrown into a brief panic on Thursday night as an uncontrolled fire ignited forcing an evacuation of the center. It was later revealed that the blaze, a suspected electrical fire, was the second incident to occur at the busy shopping on the same day. Pattaya, the 26th of August 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 11:30pm on Thursday, Colonel Nunthawut Suwanla-ong (Pattaya Police Superintendent) was notified of a fire on the 4th floor of the Big C Shopping Center in North Pattaya. Due to the severity of the incident, Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekkasing along with a team of 5 engines from the Pattaya Fire Department attended the incident. http://www.pattayadailynews.com/en/2010/08/27/brief-panic-following-storeroom-fire-in-north-pattaya-big-c/

The Justice Department said late Friday that it had cleared the planned $3 billion merger between United Airlines and Continental, lifting the biggest regulatory hurdle to the creation of the world

I second that.

I have been testing this today. It is fantastic. Easy to use and fantastic clarity.

I agree. If it were only his silence, I'd be more forgiving. He was part of the problem. That means he has a hell of a lot to make up for.

We will have this added to the list. Thank you for the suggestion. After the party this weekend, I'll pin the list back to the top of the site so others can add to it as well.

My link Google Inc. is adding a free e-mail feature that may persuade more people to cut the cords on their landline phones. The service unveiled Wednesday enables U.S. users of Google's Gmail service to make calls from microphone-equipped computers to telephones virtually anywhere in the world. All calls in the U.S. and Canada will be free through at least the end of the year. That undercuts the most popular PC-to-phone service, Skype, which charges 1.2 cents to 2.1 cents per minute for U.S. calls. It also threatens to overshadow another free PC-to-phone calling service called MagicTalk that was just introduced by VocalTec Communications Ltd. Skype, Google and many other services have been offering free computer-to-computer calling for years. Google hopes to make money on its PC-to-phone service by charging 2 cents or more per minute for international calls. The international rates will vary widely, sometimes even within the same country. Google posted a rate chart at https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/rates. People also will be able to receive calls on their PC if they obtain a free phone number from Google or already have one. The phone numbers and technology for the new PC-calling service are being provided by Google Voice, a telecommunications hub that the company has been trying to expand. It had been an invitation-only service until two months ago when Google Voice began accepting all number requests. Google disclosed last year that it had assigned about 1.4 million phone numbers through its Voice service, which can field calls made to a person's home, mobile or office number. Craig Walker, a Google product manager who helped develop Voice, said the service has expanded its reach since then, but he wouldn't provide specifics. Besides planting Voice's technology into Gmail, Google also plans to promote the service by setting up red phone booths at universities and airports scattered across the United States. People will be able to make free calls from the booths to U.S. and Canadian numbers and save on international calls. Google also plans to enable people to transfer, or "port," their existing home or mobile phone to Voice to widen the service's appeal. Walker said Wednesday that flexibility will be available soon. The PC-to-phone calling option initially is being offered only to consumers who have accounts on Google's Web-based e-mail, but the company left open the possibility that it will be expanded to the millions of businesses and government agencies that rely on Gmail as part of an applications suite that includes other programs such as word processing. The added competition comes at an inopportune time for Skype S.A., the Luxembourg-based company that recently filed plans for an initial public offering of stock. Skype has 560 million registered users, including 8.1 million paying customers (most people use the free PC-to-PC service). After four years under the ownership of eBay Inc., Skype was sold to a group of private investors last November for about $2 billion. The company has been doing well since the sale, earning $13 million on revenue of $406 million during the first half of this year.

Hotels and Apartments in Porto Alegre
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Thanks. I have a desire to get an apartment in Brazil. Rio and Sao Paulo just keep going up high with the rents. I don't mind a boring M-F. If I am tired from the weekend, I'll have to rest up anyway. I remembered you talked about the Sheraton. I have talked to them several times but they don't like giving long term rates. I also see the Holiday Inn is there. I guess I just have to go there for a month and test this and see if I like the city. That said, my favorite boy of all time in Sao Paulo just got a divorce. He says he wants me to live with him. aka get an apartment and let him live with me. What to do what to do what to do. -

If you are logged in and in the forums, there are not tabs. If you are on the site, you can hit the x to remove the tabs on the rest of the site. Best thing is to just always stay online. jk I removed the tabs from the forum as that seemed to be the general consensus. The rest of the site has the tabs but they can be easily hidden by hitting the x. -
You have done a FANTASTIC job with the August Challenge. Thank you! You deserve a long weekend! Have a great time.

Hotels and Apartments in Porto Alegre

I hope that those that have been there can share a list of recommended hotels that they have stayed at that don't mind visitors. Also, are there apartments that are available to rent there that are more on the high end side? If so, where can I find them? -
I am not convinced that "fake" daddy was a "fake" on his first post or two. It is IMHO that he came to reek havoc and he accomplished that. He got some upset and he caused some to leave. IMHO that was his intent. Now Daddy may be a "fake" daddy as his posts are moving in another direction. All in all, I can honestly say, I don't fucking know jack shit. Lucky is right, it is time to move on. I think we all need to be positive and promote love and kindness and forgiveness. In that vein, I forgive MarcAnthony for taking a really hot guy to Brazil that I feel in love with but was never able to get him to love me back. I have said cruel things about Marc's good nature and kind heart since he brought his boy into my life. I am now over it (more or less). Please forgive me.
