The CIA made videotapes in 2002 of its officers administering harsh interrogation techniques to two al-Qaeda suspects but destroyed the tapes three years later, CIA Director Michael V. Hayden said yesterday. Captured on tape were interrogations of Abu Zubaydah, a close associate of Osama bin Laden, and a second high-level al-Qaeda member who was not identified, according to two intelligence officials. I saw a miniseries last week called The Tinman. Having loved the Wonderful Wizard of Oz for many many years, I was happy to see a new movie based in Oz. The miniseries was 3 2 hour episodes each. This Sunday night, they are doing a repeat of it and showing all 3 episodes together. If you have time to watch it, it is an enjoyable story. News of the latest gun massacre in a mall is horrible. The 19 year old that committed the act left a suicide note. What a sad day for the people in that area. The BBC had an article on it and said: The incident is the latest in a series of mass shootings in the US, which have reignited the debate in the US about gun ownership. From my earliest memories of my childhood, Evel Knievel was an icon. I watched the stunts he performed with such admiration. Having my first motorcycle when I was in 2nd Grade, luckily I didn't try it all at my home but watching him for me was pure magic when I was a child. CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) -- Evel Knievel, the red-white-and-blue-spangled motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over crazy obstacles including Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho's Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69. Knievel's death was confirmed by his granddaughter, Krysten Knievel. He had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs. Knievel had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his bone-shattering spills. He also suffered two strokes in recent years. Longtime friend and promoter Billy Rundle said Knievel had trouble breathing at his Clearwater condominium and died before an ambulance could get him to a hospital. I have donated to many charities over the years but I have decided to start one of my own. I am not really sure where the aim will be but I have almost decided to make it a language school for the guys in the gay bars who want to learn English. It would be totally free to them if they were willing to enroll in the weekend school to earn their high school degree. The charity would pay for their tuition each term as well as books and supplies. I do believe that the only way out of the business is through school and an education. I also have friends in USA who can help with scholarships for those that finish and want to pursue a college education in the USA. This is not a done deal but just something I have been contemplating. Any other ideas?

I love parties. I love hosting parties and planning them. I love to have a lot of guys over to my home and just hang out and have a good time. When I was in Thailand I did this often and I always had a good time. My recent experience in New York really makes me realize the differences between a party in each place. First, the expense of having a party in NYC is infinitely more expensive. The cost of just the flowers is more than I spent on the flowers and all the food in Thailand. The cost of the wine was more than I spent on wine, whisky, beer and all other beverages. What I could do in Thailand for 100 people, I don’t think I would be able to so the same for in New York City for 10 people. The fun is the same. I had a party last weekend and had a great time. It was a bit more work for me in USA than in Thailand but it was still fun. The end result was everyone had a good time but I would say the overall cost was about 15times or more expensive than what I would have spent in Thailand. Just one example, the flower arrangements in Thailand I ordered were on average 15 USD. In New York City, they were 90 USD. I guess this was my first party that I really realized what a bargain I had in Thailand. Damm, looks like my return may be sooner rather than later.

Well, truthfully, if I hadn't been in a packed theatre, I would have used the Diet Coke Cup I had finished drinking from. Had to do that once on a car trip and am not above doing it again.

As an undergraduate, I feel in love with Gabriel Garcia Marquez and all his books. The book Love in the time of Cholera is one that stands the test of time and is a true story of love that has no ends and never dies. Sitting there watching the movie was like magic. The story is wonderful but it has been brought to life by a wonderful cast and the great imagination of the crew. I could not leave my seat to pee worried I would miss a scene. This movie is a must see.

I found several of the guys sexy but Ryan was one of the first gay videos I was into. Jeff Stryker was another one and I saw him in Making Porn and loved it as well. Yes, they have aged but aged well. My first crush was on Elizabeth Taylor and to this day, she is still the most beautiful woman on earth. Jolie is a close second but Liz has my straight heart.

The night I went it was filled with more older theatre goers than the younger crowd. I didn't get all the references and neither did the young men with me but we all enjoyed it as well. I do wish I had known more of the references.

I signed up for the Times years ago and have never gotten spam from them. But, I also use e-mails online that are not checked daily and gmail has the best spam protection IMHO. They may use it when I log in to keep track of the kind of articles I read, I doubt that. It is a daily check for me each AM, along with CNN, BCC and TMZ.
