I've stayed at the Tarntawan, Pinnacle and Le Residence. For the budget traveller, consider the new gay guesthouse Om Yim Lodge on Naratiwat Rd adjacent to the Chong Nonsi BTS. Rooms 650-900 baht. Everything is new and works. Wi-fi, room safes and A/C. Big plus is location. Right next to BTS so getting around Bangkok is very convenient. The negatives are no lift, a breakfeast that truly sucks and being on a major traffic artery (Naratiwat) with it's noise 16 hours a day (ask for a backside room). I'm currently in Taipei enroute to LOS. I can access Thai websites with no problems, fast connection.

I know little about Thai economy. 16 hours is one looooong flight. If Thai offered a substantial savings I would consider them. I'm an EVA frequent flyer and am quite happy.

If the OP was happy with the BT hotels he will satisfied with Howard's (and Howard's even has a lift!!). You are right, there are no 4* or 5* in either of these areas (BT or Sunee) and he would have to look elsewhere, but for someone who wants access to the Sunee or eay access to the baht buses to JomTien Howard's is a good choice. Ask for a back-side room as the street-side rooms can be noisy.

Just curious if you have protections or safe guards built in to your will/trust that so you don't have a timely "accident". Others in a smilar situation feel free to respond too.

If you are practising safe sex then testing is redundant. Perhaps you get tested just to make the boy(s) feel they are not being singled out.

Do what makes you happy. If you don't take baths and you are going to be there for some time I would rip it out. I find as I age my current bath tub/shower is becoming a nuisance because I only take showers and later in life it might even become a safety issue (stepping and slipping).

For those who have eaten at both....which one is best? The Amor appears to be more expensive for basically the same meal.
