I realise this is only for accidents but if the cost is 200million baht per year and there are 30 million tourists per year that means the cost should be 6.6 baht per person. If it was extended to cover general illness which required hospitalisation then there would be an increase. Clearly wouldn’t be a lot. It would be interesting to know how many tourists actually end up in hospital and what the total cost is. Then divide it by the expected 30-40 million tourists per year. The actual figure per person would probably be very small. So why not add a minor addition to the airfares BUT make it quite clear that it covers hospitalisation costs. Doubt many would complain.

I was in Doubleshot in Jomtien this morning at 04.01 and taking a pee before leaving. As I left the toilet I passed about 10 personnel in uniform who were entering the bar. My ladyboy friend urged me to leave immediately, which I was going to do anyway. As tonight was the first night of legitimate opening until 04.00 ( which is why we were still there)this was obviously planned. Be interesting to see what happens.

I believe there is a great deal of misunderstanding about the requirements. As the headline in the local paper says … ”Thai Authorities to Impose Sobering-Up Areas to Prevent Drunk Driving Amid 4AM Bar Closings” So if you are not driving it should not apply.

If you ask a non Thai boy who you know, and who has been here a long time, you will be surprised at the number who willingly admit they are over-stayers. Shhhhhh!

I now stay close to Jomtien Complex and so visit regularly. I do not think I have seen any Asian customers. Most seem to be expats or Europeans.

Had a brilliant evening in Dodo bar Jomtien tonight. They didnt mind anyone taking pics so some attached. Beer prices are actually lower than normal bars….95 baht for a beer Singh! Well worth a visit.

I arrived from the UK. Usually 30 days. Filled in the horrendous visa application form online and got 60 days stamped in my passport or arrival the other day. All depends where you are coming form and what’s available.

Excellent vehicles, well driven, quick reliable booking system, waited 2 hours for my delayed flight. A few hundred baht is nothing out of the total cost of a 3 month trip to Thailand…. Have used them for at least 10 years after a few “failed” taxi companies one of which broke down on the way to the Airport…. I didn’t say they were better than your company!

I believe that is a common misconception. Have you never been to a Thai public toilet, or even a toilet in some of the beer bars?

Typical UK public service. I went to my local hospital last week to book a hearing test. They said 10 months, yes MONTHS, waiting list. Exactly the same excuse, lack of staff, covid etc. So I went private and was seen in 3 DAYS And the same with numerous other public services…

Yes 8 months to say just a few words. Unfortunately typical of any public service in the UK nowadays. Just look at National Health Service waiting lists, police response priorities, postal services. Took a letter 10 days to reach me today. Alas, UK is a third world place now.

No! And also because most of my Thai friends, who worked in Gogo bars, returned to the farm and never came back due to Covid I find many Gogo bars to be boring now….same same!

Agreed. It is noticeable that most of the bars that are Farang run are much quieter.
