  1. I do something like that when I am in the USA. I have some very real looking gold coins that are fakes. A real one costs about $1200. The fakes cost about $10. You would be surprised how many young men have spent time and walked off with a fake gold coin. Looking forward to trying that in Thailand.
  2. It's nice to see some more gay businesses there. Every time I've been in Hua Hin I thought it was a great place to go to write a book. No distractions.

    Tip or no tip

Congratulations! Finally, you've come to your senses! ;-P Seriously, there is no right or wrong answer. It depends on the circumstances and the people involved. Everyone has different expectations and as long as everyone is satisfied with the outcome, everything is good. It has been in my experience, that many young men will not accept money from you if you've given them a nice time out. There are guys looking for a serious friendship or the possibility of a relationship and they don't want money to complicate things. Of course, after a few dates, they may tell you that there is a funeral back home or the water buffalo has finally kicked the bucket. So, then you're expected to ante up.
  4. This is why I visit Thailand and have for over 22 years. The bars are just icing on the cake.
  5. In Thailand, with all the places you can go to meet young men, I don't understand why anyone would sit in front of a computer screen to look for potential hook ups. Such a waste of precious time. Just walk around and the young men will either smile at you or wink to let you know they are interested. You can see them first hand, ask questions, check ID's or whatever. And it doesn't matter what you look like, are old, fat, slim or anything in between. To the Thai guys you're a walking ATM and that is a big attraction. However, if you are looking for a lover or BF, then the internet might be a better choice.

    Tip or no tip

You can debate whether to tip or not to tip for an eternity. Since these young men are doing you a favor by spending time with you, you should feel honored to give them something. Remember a small sum of money such as a tip doesn't affect your lifestyle in the least. But, 500 Baht (or more) to him for an afternoon would make it tolerable to sit in a cold theatre, watching a movie or dining in a restaurant when he may prefer a something more to his liking. It is a nice gesture to offer to buy him a gift or take him shopping, what he really needs is money. He can't eat a shirt or pair of jeans. These guys are just surviving and if you don't want to tip them you should be ashamed of yourselves.
  7. http://www.directrooms.com includes tax, service and most of the time ABF.
  8. Has Thailand
  9. I have also used Classic Tailor and they've always done a good job. It's always a good idea to have them snip off a piece of the fabric and keep it for later comparison. It's best to allow plenty of time so you can check everything carefully. One time I had some shirts made at a tailor shop in a Bangkok hotel. I was foolish and did this on my last day. They were delivered late that evening and I just packed them away in my suitcase. When I looked at them after getting home, I found they had no pockets. Not exactly what I wanted, but hey, thats what happens when you don't check things over carefully.
  10. Please girls, stop fighting! I don't enjoy reading this board when people argue about pros and cons of prostitution. It's the world's oldest profession for a reason. And it will always be there no matter how well off a country becomes. Deal with it!
  11. This whole story seems pointless! There are so many other boys in Pattaya that without much effort you can find one that will treat you well provided you do the same for him. Why on earth would you discuss this topic on a message board? This makes absolutely no sense to me!
  12. You can buy 2 Magic Jacks with phone numbers in the same area code (USA) Give one to your friend and you use the other. It is like dialing a local call. So your friend in Pattaya can call you wherever you are and it's basically free. I've used this while traveling in most of Europe, Australia and several other countries without any problems. Check out the Magic Jack website for more info.
  13. My friend decided to build a house in CM for his bf. By the time they were finished with the construction the final cost was around $48,000 US. Not that cheap and they were out in the woods. I'd rather have a condo in Pattaya or Jomtien!
  14. Yes, it does work very well. Have used them for over two years and haven't had any problems. Great for calls to friends or loved ones. Never worry about a long distance charge. Not bad for $19.99 a year!
  15. OK Ladies, it's time to stop!
  16. Does anyone remember the Classic Inn - Pattaya? If I remember correctly, the owner's name was Martin. What happened to him? Is the hotel still in operation? Thanks for your replies in advance.
  17. I hope that you keep in contact with him. You never know how things will work out with he and his sponsor. In any event, there are more boys out there for you to befriend.
  18. The Philippines has some excellent places to meet those looking for pay for play. Almost all understand and speak english. Because it is more discreet, don't think that it doesn't exist as it did in the 80's. The internet has made it easier to satisfy those cravings! :-P
  19. Taxis usually get the change or rounded up to the next 20-50 baht, depending on how far. From the airport to a Bangkok hotel I give 100 baht. In restaurants I leave the loose change or at least 20 baht. In hi end places usually 10% of the check, providing there hasn't been a service charge added. If there is someone that I think is cute or gives excellent service I'll put 50 baht or more in his hand or shirt pocket. That way, it is his and not shared with the staff. I usually tip the room boy or maid 100 baht the first day I see them, if I am staying a few days in the hotel. You'd be surprised how well your room is taken care of and while others wait, your room is refreshed, restocked and ready for whatever you may have planned that afternoon or evening. Or, if you prefer to sleep late they will make sure that you aren't disturbed and as soon as you want them, they will be there to take care of your room...quickly! If I ask a boy to sit with me in a go go bar I give him 100 baht. The waiters usually 20 baht per drink. As a tourist you can be a little generous. 20 to 100 baht will not break the bank! I'm sure that resident expats have learned that overtipping or being too generous is looked upon as being a little foolish. Have your Thai boyfriends told you that?
  20. Damn, you're hot! Wish I was older..lol
  21. Showing physical force to any Thai is not a good idea! I don't even think it is a good idea to raise your voice. You'll get nowhere. The best way to avoid any unpleasant situations is to walk away. You're in Thailand as a guest. For a few thousand baht you can be made to disappear. Rather unpleasantly I might add!
  22. I doubt that you can seriously find a BF in a bar or club.
  23. I wish you all would put this time and energy to teaching Thai youth about safe sex. Let the smoking issue take care of itself. This isn't something expats or foreigners should be concerned about. This is Thailand, not your land.
  24. I don't fly Thai Air from the USA. The Thais are always cold and they keep the plane's temperature too hot for my taste. On the other hand, Northwest has it so cold you need a couple blankets.
  25. It must feel creepy to the mom's farang bf too!
