  1. When I book a ticket for train, staff at the desk often turns the monitor so I can see which times and classes are free. Such information is best communicated visually (in a table: time / class / number of vacancies).

For hotel booking, their website should show a similar table: date / room type / number of vacancies, so prospective customers can have a look. On the other hand, this information could be considered business secret, hence you have to go through a lengthy email exchange to get part of this information that you could get with a one-second-look at this table. I am sure staff has such a table on paper posted somewhere for quick reference.

  2. Not an injury, but I am in a constant state of light sunburn, despite avoiding sun (stay in during day, walk in shade, use umbrella).

In France I had a bank card with insurance, when I opened an account I signed up for it, it was free in the first year. Then I forgot to read the small print, and one year later, I found a monthly fee of 28 EUR (about 1000 THB) deducted monthly from my account, and it took me month to cancel it due to poor conversation.

  3. Friday in Classic Boy: drink 350 Baht, off fee 600 (!), short time tip 1500.

I was  happy with my choice, but can get the same elsewhere cheaper. I limit my visits to Soi Twilight bar to going to every bar once in a year, and offs even fewer. I spend my money in Saranrom and Pattaya instead.

  4. PFC and all other potential visitors, do come here and let me be a gracious host... allow me to show you that sights and sites less travelled by a tourist in a package deal... the best yet inexpensive food is hidden along the streets of Geylang/Malay Village enclave..

I would like to thank abang1961 for his invitation and being my host. Great service (picking up at airport, providing a stored value card for public transport). I had a good time sightseeing in Singpore (03.-07.10.2014) within my budget (100 Euro = 162 SGD = 4100 THB for the entire time). I hope to see you again, either in Singapore (there are places left I would like to visit) or in Thailand.

  5. This is the boy firecat reviewed before under a different profile name (the boy changes profile every few months).

For me, he is bordering on too fat.

Probably taken during his recent touring of Thailand with his Farang Boyfriend. By chance, I even spotted both (with other Thai friends) in Wave Club (Bangkok Ramkhamhaeng 89/2) last month. Obviously, the boyfriend is back in his home country.

  6. "Dream boys is the iPad amongst the gogo bars." (Brainfart by ChristianPFC, I want to say new customers heard of it from their friends, it's THE place to go, the owner did advertise at the righ place - but in the end you can get the same elsewhere, much cheaper.)

I congratulate the owner for having a full bar every night (as far as I know from the forum) at these prices, but thank you, I will go elsewhere. One boring day I will sit opposite and count number of customers and boys going in and out for a full night. (I imagine a plot - number of customers or boys on  the y-axis and time on the x-axis.)

  7. When I started to post, I was accused of being a troll a few times, hence I am lenient with trolls.

I can well imagine a newbie being scared by threats of police. I have been threatened with police three times (two Thais and one Farang), two of them drunk. All outside my room, so I can just laugh and walk away. Such threats are from a position of weakness, as a last resort. It's like a barking dog, he want's to see your reaction, whether you show fear or not.

If such thing happened in my room (or hotel room), I would tell the boy to leave, and shove him out if he doesn't go (I am bigger than the average Thai I date).

I had three boys being angry with me and write "fuck you", but that was based on misunderstandings, now they all would go with me.

  8. Nothing serious so far, but several close calls, recently made a list:

    http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/10/christianpfc-gets-hit-by-car.html

In addition to that list, twice hurt my big toe (blood), lightly hurt my head a few times, slipped and fell once (wet tiles, flip-flops) and many times almost fell.

Several colds or running nose and one or two herpes. With such conditions, it's not advisible to have sex and spread it, anyway I don't feel like having sex when I have a cold. Living here, you can just sit it out, but when on holiday it's very annoying.

  9. Most of the hooting and hollering was from my group, who were celebrating a birthday.

If the birthday celebration interrupts normal bar activity, you should rent the bar for private party (and if this idea doens't occur to you, the manager/owner should suggest so). I do not want to suddenly find myself in a loud birthday party, probably with limited choice of boys to off.

    Back to the op.

What is unacceptable behaviour to one is a welcome change to others.

I would regard hanky-panky (blow job, wanking) between customers and boys as added value, others say "get a room".

There was a case reported (in Sunee, half a year or a year ago) on the forums where one attractive female got bare-breast (and more), getting all straight boys in the bar hard and dripping with precum. I would pay extra to watch that.

But the case in the op, count me out. I want to see boys in underwear on stage, not females doing a conga.

  10. I think I saw sign and was kind of surprised on one some motel like hotel in soi Sri Bumphen across from Malaysia Hotel saying something about same sex couple not being accepted, may be Christian can verify since he is camping in the area.

This is indeed true. Thung Mahamek Privacy Hotel (near 7/11 opppoiste Malaysia) has short time rooms only for mixed gender couples, I had to book a full night (650 Baht) to take a boy there (last year, when I was still living in Lak Si).

Similar for a hotel in south Pattaya that charges 200 Baht for ladyboy or gay:

    http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2013/12/notes-in-hotel-in-south-pattaya.html

(a friend used to stay there, now he goes elsewhere)

  11. The view on this issue is a bit obscured by "screaming Chinese females". Gender and nationality does not matter, the important part that they disturbed other customers and the owner/manager/staff didn't prevent them from doing so; even encouraged it by moving other customers (very rude by my standards, shows complete lack of respect).

It doesn't matter if it's straight Chinese woman or gay White men who disturb other customers.

Fortunately I have never been in such a situation, and it's difficult to tell if I would argue with staff about moving (suggesting I leave immediately without paying) or be so surprised that I don't realize I'm being screwed and follow their orders.

  12. Unacceptable behaviour (the loud-mouthed Chinese females, getting on the stage; and the Thai staff moving other customers to the side). I have no problem with women in bars, as long as they behave.

They should book the bar for a private party. I certainly do want to get into such a situation as a customer.

  13. Big C Ratchadamri. I can confirm toilet cruising there (there are even signs in Thai not to perform any indecent/obscene activities in the toilets, the Thai word is ลามกอนาจาร laa-mók a-naa-jaan). Others are Silom Complex and The Mall Bangkapi. Sometimes there is one, sometimes two, sometimes no-one. Have yet to participate in such activities.

  14. This place is nowehere near boystown - but the pics on their Short time rooms always makes me feel a little bit excited!

    http://www.pattayasweethearts.com/loveinn/tkresort.htm

For anyone thats not familiar with Pattaya its right next to the Gay Mecca of Tum Nan Issan and just down from Idol/I:D - so I'm sure that Anonone and NIrishGuy are familiar with it!

I have been in the "space" room about a year ago with a boy who didn't want to be seen in Sunee Plaza because he used to work there before.

Back to the op: there is absolutely no reason not to take the boy back to your hotel, no need for short time rooms.

One of the things I don't get: people fly half around the world to hire prostitutes, but are too timed to say "no" to drink requests from staff or to take boys back to their hotel.

  15.

    4. Notre Dame de Paris (and Dalida monument) - (I know :) and so much more - A moveable feast - (done)

What do you think is so special about Notre Dame de Paris? I have been there, and in Chartres, but know cathedrals of Amiens, Reims, Rouen, ... only from pictures. I think Notre Dame de Paris is nothing special compared to the others, it just has the advantage of being in the centre of Paris.

I haven't heard of Dalida, and don't remember seeing the monument from my trips in Paris. Missed Montmartre cemetery (but went to most other cemeteries in Paris, they are wonderful).

My list of places would mainly include buildings, especially art nouveau (Barcelona, Bruxelles, maybe Riga, Prague, Budapest) plus Albi Cathedral (southwestern France).

I have spent considerable time in Paris, and some time in Berlin (I lived in Berlin for 7 years, but spend all my time studying!) and Vienna, but only one day trip to London. That is something I will rectify some time (spending more time in London, provided the weather is acceptable and I can find cheap accommodation, preferably staying for free with a friend like in Vienna).

Of the places others mention, I have been to Paris, Egypt (Pyramids, Luxor, Karnak, Abu Simbel, around 1991), Athens, Jerusalem, Angkor Wat.

But there is a difference between exploring places by your own over weeks and months and speaking the language (Paris, Thailand), and going on group tours for one week (holidays with my parents when I was a child: Egypt, Sicily, Greece, Ireland, Israel).
