July 4, 20206 yr I found this message on my Blued account, does anyone know anything more about this?
July 4, 20206 yr Yes I had this message too. I reported it to blued asking if it is genuine but received no reply

I got the same message. I wonder what message Blued users in places like Switzerland and Norway get ? For me, Blued is pretty useless in whilst in Europe. The nearest people on it are miles away and all I get is spam messages, occasionally. However, I've found it to be of considerable use in Myanmar and found my best massage guy of all time on this app in Yangon. So to have my account deleted, lose all the messages & contacts, then have to start again when I return to Asia would be inconvenient. I would like to find a work around & figure I'm not the only board member with such a view. I've logged out of my account on the main phone. I've fired up my old phone, used fake GPS to set the location to Myanmar and am considering an e-mail response to Blued.

Advantages: More features available in the free version Disadvantages: Highly irritating features, such as allowing people to share their a photo in a format which disappears after half a second. Someone should be shot for that. Of course, when it comes down to dating apps, I find it's necessary to use what app is popular in your chosen destination. Whilst anything might work in Pattaya, if you go to Myanmar (for example), Grindr and Blued are the apps to use.

Someone should be shot for that I have to disagree. Blued is a site based in China, run by Chinese with a Chinese state company as one of its main investors. It claims to have 49 million users the majority of whom are based in China. Given anti LGBT feelings in part of the population, a huge number of Chinese gays do not want their photos permanently available to view. The one second glimpse of someones face pic is in my view perfectly understandable. Presumably it is one reason why so many use the site. The site is also big in Thailand where there is no need for users to make use of the one second glimpse. There is also instant Thai/English translation just as there is Chinese/English translation. FYI Blued has filled for a listing on the NASDAQ.
July 7, 20206 yr Thanks. Lived in China last year for 9 months, never heard of it. Grindr worked fine for me
July 20, 20206 yr of course Grindr is also Chinese owned. I suspect it has something to do with Europe's attitude towards the Chinese government at the moment and probably some kind of data privacy laws. I used to enjoy Blued for the live videos. For some reason I'm unable to log in to my account anymore. Not a big loss.

Beijing Kunlun had bought it for US$93 million four years ago. With the sale now finalised it got around $600 million for its shares!

I've personally found it to be highly inconvenient when lads in Myanmar or Northern Thailand make use of it and send me photo's I can barely look at properly before they disappear. In Myanmar, where Blued & Grindr seem popular, my response was to not deal with anyone who won't send a picture that remains on my screen. In Thailand, I stopped using Blued.
October 3, 20206 yr Around 1 Sept. my Blued account was suspended. I was no longer logged into my account and any attempt to log-in would result in being told that my account was suspended. After several e-mails to Blued support - which all remained unanswered - I contacted via Messenger in FB and received the reply that European accounts have been suspended. I don't recall receiving any warnings about this from Blued Annoying as I used Blued from time to time, in particular when traveling. So I assume that all Blued users in Europe have now lost access to their accounts?. The funny thing is that I keep receiving push notifications from the app notifying me of activities of members that I follow

October 3, 20206 yr My Blued account is suspended. I had taken the precaution of logging out of Blued on my main phone & ensuring my last visit was using the old phone, with a fake GPS location set to Thailand. It seems that was not effective. I then tried to start a new account, with my fake GPS location set to Thailand again. A popup said opening a new account is not allowed in my region. So presumably they know I am in the UK from IP address or something. I'd imagine that could be circumvented, but I'm not that motivated. After all, I'm only planning to use Blued when I go back to somewhere like Myanmar, where it's popular. Once I'm there, I'll try opening a new account. Then I'll make sure I don't log on when returning to Europe. Unfortunately, previous contacts will be lost. Although I do have screenshots of the most outstanding ones. Presumably if any board member outside of Europe logs in and browses people in Europe, he's going to find no active members ? As for the reasons why, presumably Blued are unwilling to comply with GDPR regulations ? I can't immediately figure out another reason.
October 3, 20206 yr Good questions. Although I can't access my account now, I hope that it is only suspended and that I will get access again at some point. I had a lot of contacts in Blued that I would like to keep in contact with. Could we ask those with non-European accounts to check if Blued members in Europe are still visible in the app?
