I’m in Bangkok for a short visit on the end of a larger holiday. Early this evening (07 Oct) I was deciding on whether to get a massage, do some shopping or have dinner when it started raining. Pay on arrival and you’re given an electronic bracket that opens your locker. Everything is on the one floor, with the usual layout of wet area, maze, private rooms and rest areas.

What is does differently is they what I’d call an instagram aesthetic - themed areas that people would love to get the perfect pic at - if cameras were allowed:)

It is a very intimate space and a late night venue. Go there 11:30. It has a youngish crowd and the performances are interactive.

Day 13

Going to Bali
We got up early to get to the Suvarnabhumi for a 9:30 am flight to Bali with Thai Airways . But because of flooding and difficulties with staff being able to get to the airport, our flight is delayed to after 3:00 pm.
Funnily enough, the flight tracker software through Apple’s text system reported our flight leaving delayed at 12:00 pm. I briefly panicked in the lounge where they promised to alert us when the flight was going to depart. The lounge reassured me that the plane had not departed and wasn’t likely to depart any time soon. The Apple software continued to report the flight landing safely in Bali. I have always liked this little featured that you could trigger with a simple text with with the airline and flight number (TG431)and get up-to-date information by clicking on the link in your text box. Now, my faith is a little shaken. Oh well.
We were eventually able to takeoff shortly before 5 PM. This was more than seven hours after our scheduled departure. It was explained to us on the plane that the pilots and the flight attendants were here. The primary problem was that they didn’t have the drivers who drive the trucks that load and unload the planes. They were the ones who weren’t present so they couldn’t remove the luggage from the plane that had landed last night. They couldn’t just find substitute drivers because of security clearance to be on airfield.
If we were delayed past 5 PM, the crew would’ve timed out and there would have been no flight. So despite our seven hour delay, we were actually lucky that we were able to get out at all.
We landed around 10 PM. We got through customs and passport control rather quickly by having done the visa beforehand and the entry card. So we could use the E Gates. Highly recommend.
