I've stayed in the Old Town in the north of the city and changed hotels because it was too crowded with tourists and too far from Escape. I enjoyed a stay down in Vysedrad by the train bridge because it was next to the historic fort where Smetena and Dvorak are buried and a short cab to the center, But this last time I stayed by the IP Pavlova Metro on Tylovo Square and enjoyed it best. A trendy neighborhood (Vinograde) just 5 blocks south of Escape and Wenceslas Sqaure which is the center of activity in Prague. Vinograde has many of the biggest gay bars close-by. Drop-dead georgous guys waiting on trams etc and all over Grindr. 2000K is a lot of money to these guys. Generally though Wenceslas Square is the area to be in. A hotel I might check out sometime is the 4 or 5 star King David which is one block from Temple and 3 blocks north of Wenceslas Square and Escape. The Radisson Blu Alcorn and the Grand Majestic are almost next to Escape but on a torn-up street. Just my 2 cents. In the meantime one of the guys has FB'd photos of his country house and girlfriend....Huge modern but rustic house with Bosch appliances, Volvo station wagon and French bulldog.
