Ariston (the patio part across the street which has been renovated) is 5 minutes from U&D and very decent. Sklep apartments at Husinecka tram stop a good choice for private apartment. Sklep is a good restaurant. If you like communist style hotel (No service) you may want to go to Olsanka 2 tram stop from U&D. Decent place. Gym. Sauna. Finally the former Temple hotel is now youth hostel managed by russians. If you like sleeping in a 18 hunk bed bedroom in dirty sheets with commun showers with only cold water and only two toilets for 60 persons, it is the place to go ! 140 Kr including what is called breakfast.

ummm.... not to sleep but I'd be willing to pay the few crowns just to use the communal showers with the 18 hunks. There are some really good looking backpackers who stay there and hang out front. (that's when I stay around IP Pavlova). 

I'm big on nice hotels because my time in Prague is hopefully in the hotel with a guy or guys the whole week. Business boys love fine linens and marble baths just like we love fancy offices. 

But I could cross the street in the cold to use those communal showers with the backpackers too.

Which places would you recommend to stay during this time (OK with bringing casual guests back and somewhere good to pick up boys).
