December 4, 20169 yr The Thai government has approved a 10 year visa for foreigners. It is mostly aimed at people coming to Thailand on medical holidays. There are some financial requirements to it but it does seem to be a good way to get medical work done. One of the requirements is that you make 3,000 USD per month. I have said for years that Thailand has the best medical care in the entire world. I love the hospitals here and they are clean, cheap, efficient and amazing. If anyone needs details on any places in Thailand for medical reasons, just ask. I'm happy to provide a few hospital recommendations. http://www.thaiway.com/topic/4552-gov’t-approves-10-year-visas-for-foreigners-over-50/#comment-11169
December 4, 20169 yr This visa still has the 90 day check in. If they offer 10 years why can't check in be yearly or more.?
December 4, 20169 yr Author Even employment visas have 90 day check ins. They are easy and some do it online. That would not impede me at all. But, it may some. It is not for those to live here permanently. It is just for those that want to come and go pretty much hassle free. Think of it this way, for a stay of 6 months, you have one check in half way though. Pretty good IMHO.
December 4, 20169 yr Active Members I have never considered being in Thailand for ten years. One would have to speak the language, I think. Otherwise, what's the point of being there, only surrounded by Expats. That reminds me, wasn't there once a poster here named EXPAT? I wonder what happened to him.
January 5, 20179 yr Active Members Oz, how are the plastic surgeons there? I was thinking of tightening my neck a bit.
January 5, 20179 yr Author They are good and cheap. But, when I thought about a tummy tuck years ago, I headed for Brazil. It is the capital of the world for plastic surgery as most (yes I mean most) Brazilians get it.
