No date has been set, right now it's just a matter of jjkrkwood finding out who is interested. This is not a new idea, gatherings like this have occurred in several places. But it's the first time that jjkrkwood has shown an interest, and hosting it at that. The invite is directed to ALL NY members and those in neighboring states. As of yet, Boytoy members still await their invitations. But I have no doubt that we who qualify will also be invited. I am confident that jjkrkwood wants as many people who are interested in showing up to feel welcome. So we await details here at Boytoy. Now I no longer live in New York...

January 24, 20188 yr Active Members Have anyone ever organized an inter-website gathering? I would love something like that, I like both gangs. I just attended a couple of DC gathering organized from Daddy''s during MAL weekend, and even when I am socially challenged (let's say I do not bright in social settings) it was nice to put some real faces to the people I often interact with on line, as well as meeting several professionals. In April I am attending the Palm Springs events. The closest thing I heard about here is the famous party in Rio. I would love to have more chances for clients and escorts to mingle face to face, like in the old pre-internet times.

I know that I enjoyed seeing him. I didn't go last year but I plan to go this year. Temperatures should be in the low 80's with lots of sunshine, making a pool party a great idea. Oliver has a nice yard and pool. For the past few years, the Saturday night dinner has been held at Trio. Anyone here is welcome to attend. Palm Springs is a friendly place!

January 24, 20188 yr Active Members It’s a long story, but the housing prices in formerly gay areas like Laguna Beach and WeHo got so high that many middle-aged and older guys decamped to the desert. Before that, it had been a winter destination for many in the community. In the 90s, LB had three gay bars, including the famous Boom Boom Room, and two decent restaurants, Shame on the Moon and Mark’s. At the time, Shame on the Moon was also in PS and there was another Mark’s in WeHo. LB is full of oligarchs and parvenus now.
January 24, 20188 yr Author Active Members It's proximity to LA helps, kjun12. I first came here in 1980 for a weekend. I didn't like it. Of course that changed. There are indeed a lot of older people here who like the dry climate, the mountain views, and the relatively lower cost of living compared to big cities. The gay life is not just old men because many young LA guys come here for the weekend to party or play. But, as far as masseurs, they tend to be older, and escorts usually operate out of LA.

I think it made Daddy uncomfortable although we both chatted and had a nice conversation. There must still be hurt feelings on his part. For those of you interested, there is a donation fund to help him run the site which he says costs 1k per month to run. LOL This might alleviate those hurtful feelings a bit. Be sure to put the donation in honor of TotallyOz.

January 25, 20188 yr Around 2002 to 2007 many “older” gays from the SF castro and adjoining areas took advantage of real estate prices of 7 figures for places they bought in the 80’s for a few hundred thousand! they took their profits and bought new houses in PS area for in the $300,000. - $450,000. and PS has a number of programs for those with HIV such as reduced electricity bills(big expense in the summer there). i know personally of 6 individual that did this. I heard that PS has the highest % of gays of any city...
