Lucky Suggests...

I thought I would post together some suggestions rather than create separate threads for them. I love to surf the internet, and find many things I like to share here. But it's not "The Lucky Pub" so I don't want to have too many threads with my name on them. (Someone will no doubt tell me when there are too many!)

My first one I will title BUZZ AND TOMMY- What's The True Story?

It comes from the several websites. A picture of two very handsome guys, perhaps taken around 1949...

So, what's the story? Were they lovers? Is it a good-bye note, perhaps at the end of summer? Your guess is as good as mine.

Blogger Andy Towle posts some suggestions and invites yours: https://www.towleroad.com/2020/04/life-guards-buzz-tommy/

CIRCUS of BOOKS Movie on Netflix Out on April 22d...the bookstore itself closed in 2017.

This LA bookstore closed in 2017. It was very popular. I was once a big fan...but a movie about it? I guess I'd like to see it!

Here's an article about the closing: https://www.boyculture.com/boy_culture/2017/06/circus-of-books-the-final-chapter.html

There was an art exhibit devoted to it:  https://www.boyculture.com/boy_culture/2019/03/the-circus-is-coming-to-town-a-review-of-circus-of-books-at-fierman.html

STRAIGHT STREETWORK BUSINESS THRIVING

The LA Times reports that heterosexual street walkers are out in full force despite the epidemic, and johns want more for less!

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-04-15/los-angeles-sex-trade-coronavirus-fears

It seems as if the gay escort business is way down as a result. But hookers on LA streets like Santa Monica Boulevard left long ago. Perhaps JKane can advise better on this.

I am not sure about wearing that mask even in Center City Philadelphia. But, masks are not required yet in Pennsylvania.

I walk by the Rodin Museum often on the way to shop. Flowers are in bloom throughout the grounds, but few people see them because of the COVID-19. Sad.

A friend worked in an adult book store for a few months after college. Let's just say he was a little too attractive for that job.

He is/was straight. But men like him more the women. So all these years later he may have embrased his "true" sexuality!. Good guy though.

Wait, the one in West Hollywood is unrelated or... did I not notice it close?  On Santa Monica BLVD and La Jolla...

Yes, it is the one in West Hollywood. I don't know from personal experience, but one of the links above is about the closing.

The DEAN DONG Photo !

A New York Medical School Dean,  Dr. F. Charles Brunicardi, is pictured here:

brunicardi.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=12

But, that's not the photo many people want to see!  Back in 1978 Brunicardi posed for anther photo. Above: no hair! Below: No clothes!

Since the photo is for sale, it is hard to post here, but here's a link to it. Let me know if it doesn't work. And for young guys with lots of hair, enjoy it, flaunt it! It often does not last!

My first gang bang was in a bookstore.  Well, kind of. I was young and had visited the big city of Nashville (hours from my house) and I saw this big book store sign for years and could not wait till I could drive to see what an "Adult Superstore" was. Well, I met his guy who took me home to meet others and lets just say, it was a painfully enlightening night.

Picking up on the bookstore theme: Discovered Glad Day Bookstore while at U of Toronto age 18. Eye-opening. Followed a guy to a venue nearby called Library Steambaths. Confusing. Eye-opening. This was years before the “operation soap” police raids that spurred intense activism not long prior to the AIDS crisis. The raids paradoxically set the tone for gay men’s health infrastructure.

Bored out of my mind I drove a loop of Hollywood and WeHo yesterday.

Kind of expected to see a desperate guy or tran out working it, didn't, but it was middle of day.

Did drive by Circus of Books, while the main sign is still up the windows were filled with stuff I believe said "Chi Chi La Rue's Circus", so I guess it was bought out.

When Chi Chi La Rue was on the East Coast years ago I asked him whether he felt partly response for the death of some porn stars, and specifically Joey Stefano. Strange, Chi Chi didn't like my freaking question!.

He was partly responsible.

DRAFTING JOE BURROW

I have no interest in football, or the NFL draft. But I sure would like to draft Joe Burrow! We'd start with a physical exam!

But, I'd grab him more gently!

Not even college football? How about baseball, basketball, tennis, European "football?"
