July 23, 20206 yr Active Members Only issue with that is in the US the largest common coin denomination is a quarter, but then again $0.50 would actually be a reasonable price for a surgical mask... Also there's some kind coin shortage plus many just don't carry change. Otherwise a great idea...

For how long do you think coins and paper bills will still be massively used? Soon you will get your condoms and tampons crediting the 50c to a card.

I agree in general but specifically this post was about refitting common existing (specifically gumball/toy-type) vending machines in a useful way.
