Guest reader Posted March 12 Posted March 12 From ThecThaiger The parents of a 19 year old American boy who vanished in Phuket three weeks ago have turned to social media in a desperate bid to find him. He was last seen with his bicycle in the Mueang district of Phuket. The parents of the American teenager, Steven, turned to social media platforms, and The Thaiger today, March 10, in search of more information about their missing boy. Steven reportedly left his family home in Phuket on February 17 and never returned. The boy’s mother, Srj Snyder, revealed in a social media post that her son had been missing for about three weeks, and she and her husband were desperately seeking any clues about him. Steven was last seen with his black and blue bicycle in the Mueang district of Phuket. He was wearing a black T-shirt and green jeans, and he was also carrying a blue backpack with a black bottom. The missing American was known to enjoy adventure and outdoor activities. His mother disclosed that he loved fishing, woodcrafts, and other survivalist activities. He often visited shipyards or boat piers in the province, but she found no clues of him at any of these locations. https://thethaiger.com/news/phuket/19-year-old-american-man-missing-for-3-weeks-in-phuket Quote

I thought this was after he was reported missing, even if that didn't fit with his age. So my pun might be a bit cold, no matter how depraved his urges are. Quote

It seems that his family paid off the horse owners. Some tabloids said he raped the horses, but that does not seem to be the case, it was, so to speak, sexual assault. It is a parallel with Peter Schaffer's play Equus, where the lead character, an attractive youth (!), has a sexual attraction to horses. In the play, he has to appear naked! In the first production Peter Firth played the boy, rather attractive! vinapu 1 Quote

It's a very fine play which I saw in London with Peter Firth (indeed very attractive) as the 17-year old boy and Alec McCowan as the psychiatrist. When it transferred to Broadway, McCowan was replaced by Anthony Hopkins and later Richard Burton. In its most recent production, 'Harry Potter' (Daniel Radcliffe) played the boy in both London and Broadway and insisted on stripping to the buff. But when playing the part, those playing it always had their bare backs to the audience. (I'll bet there were a goodly number of binoculars in the audience!) I have to correct one possible misinterpretation, though, given the nature of thread. As @Keithambrose points out, the pstchiatrist discovers the boy has a deep attraction to horses (in the play they were not real horses). He works in a stable and frequently takes one out for riding at night, often when he is naked. Any form of mild sexual attraction is limited to feeling their coats, muscular bodies and the smell of their sweat. He visits the psychiatrist because he has blinded a number of horses. In their sessions, the psychiatrist realises that the boy comes from a very mixed religious family. His deeply religious mother's teachings about the violent aspects in the Bible have turned into a fascination with horses. In one part of the play, a girl attempts to seduce him but he cannot get an erection after he hears horses in the barn underneath. He then blinds the six horses as they have "seen" into his soul.
