April 16, 20251 yr Pattaya Mail Now that Songkran celebrations have wrapped up across most of Thailand, all eyes are turning to Pattaya — the last big splash of the season is about to begin. While other provinces are cleaning up after their water fights, Pattaya is just getting started. The real party here kicks off on April 18 with Wan Lai Naklua, followed by Wan Lai Pattaya on April 19, known as some of the wildest, wettest, and most anticipated Songkran days in the entire country. Crowds are already building — from locals to long-term visitors and tourists alike — all waiting for the grand finale. Expect massive water battles along Beach Road, cultural parades, concerts, foam parties, and nonstop fun from morning until night. April 16, 20251 yr I did 1 day of Songkran and have been sick since, maybe unrelated, but assuming wet clothes for hours didn't do me well. I think i'll stick to bkk and let pattaya have their fun to themselves for the additional half a week of splashing
April 17, 20251 yr I fled from my home in Pattaya to Bangkok on 16th, since Songkran finished here on 15th, and I shall stay safe and dry here until 20th when I return home. Bah humbug! This Grumpy old git is happy here!
April 17, 20251 yr Wan Lai Naklua doesn't officially kick off till tomorrow, however about 30 minutes a go a convoy of 9 Utes just drove past my condo over in Pratumnak with a couple of the filled big blue water barrels and 3 or 4 fully loaded squirters in the back with the music blaring. Watched them take out a couple of scooters from the safety of my balcony. Half-a-dozen bottles of rosé in the fridge, F1 from Saudi Arabia starting tomorrow. Enough snacks to open a corner shop.
