Bumrungrad Hospital Offering 20% Off Colonoscopy Packages

I know from experience that colonoscopy packages at Bumrungrad are quite expensive.. Now the hospital is offering 20% off provided the package is booked prior to August 15 and completed prior to August 30. The quoted cost is Bt. 27, 900.

Note, however, that this may not be the full price you pay. It includes the facility charge, the doctor's and nursing fees. However, many undergoing a colonoscopy also wish the attendance of an anaesthetist in addition to the mild sedative provided. This may not be to put you completely to sleep but to dull any pain that might occur during the procedure - and it can do, as I know! As far as I am aware, it might also be recommended if you have heart issues. The last time I enquired, the additional cost for an anaesthetist was between Bt. 10,000 and 12,000. On top will be the laboratory charge for checking if any polyps excised may be cancerous or benign.

I have not checked the prices at other hospitals. I recently had a CT scan at BNH and it was considerably cheaper than the quote I received from Bumrungrad. Other hospitals maybe even cheaper. I would not consider public hospitals for a colonoscopy for various reasons. You have first to register as a patient. You then have to be seen by a doctor allocated by the hospital. You then will be referred to a specialist. And finally you have to join a queue of patients already lined up for the procedure. That might take many weeks.

Wow, thanks for the totally relevant update from the Mexico Division of our Thailand discussion group. Not only do Latin America got cheap and amazing GPs, they got the best and sweetest deals for colonoscopies too. I’ll just cancel my local appointment and teleport across the planet—because obviously, airfare, time zones, and geography are just minor details when chasing those sweet biopsy savings.

Simply pointing out that the prices aren't such a bargain as people think....as I pointed out with my MRI I had in BKK vs what a friend had in Brasil....I'm sure Norway is even better?

There's no upper age limit for colon cancer screening. But most medical organizations in the United States agree that the benefits of screening decline after age 75 for most people and there's little evidence to support continuing screening after age 85.

my late father  used to say ' doesn't matter your best doctors and medicines, one day you must die and reason for it will find itself". Sounds brutal but true- as recent sad saga of Pres. Binden, out of blue struck with cancer,  shows

Bangkok Nursing Home has a Colonoscopy rate of 25,000 Baht. They have a promotion rate of Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy for 39,000 Baht.

I had that joint procedure at BNH about 3 years ago. But please note that as with Bumrungrad, the total cost does not include the services of an anaesthetist should you wish one.
