emiel1981 Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Planning a trip to Bangkok and Pattaya again in November. Stayed a few times in Agate hotel. Good quality rooms and bed, location can't be better and always got a good price directly via the hotel website. Also important: never a problem taking "a friend" to your room. They can even walk in on their own coming to your room without you having to get him from downstairs. But this time I might to choose to stay somewhere else. As I would like to have a bit more relaxing time at a pool. I know Agata has two pools, but somehow these pools don't really are inviting for me to spent some hours relaxing. I did see nice rooms for very good price in Welcome World Beachfront Resort. This one: https://maps.app.goo.gl/K7gWMJY2vf3QWyAr7 Did anybody by any chance stay here before? Would you recommend it? Any idea about bringing boys back to your room here? Other hotel suggestions are welcome also. Quote
vinapu Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Zing hotel, one midway between Jomtien and Pattaya has two pools, one on ground level and another one, smaller on the roof. I stay there in January and liked idea of being in between both gay areas. Liked their breakfast too. No issue with visitors, day or night. I tested both options FunFifties, Kiwi306 and tm_nyc 3 Quote

I contacted this place some years ago asking what their joiner policy was and they informed me that there would be an extra fee of 800 THB per night. So I decided not to. Zing resort in the complex is decent, relatively cheap, visitor friendly and has a pool (which I haven't used). BL8gPt 1 Quote
Members sydneyboy1 Posted June 15 Members Posted June 15 I have stayed at the Rabbit Resort a couple of times. Very nice. Great pool. Opposite the gay beach. Quote
Travellerdave Posted June 16 Posted June 16 The Zing Resort in the Jomtien Complex (Supertown) has a larger pool compared with the small size of both at the Agate. Both are favoured by gay guests and there is no problem with joiners, including sitting with them around the pool. The rooms at Agate are very good for their price, but that’s only my opinion. peterholland Posted June 16 Posted June 16 how is the joiner policy at the rabbit resort? It is near the gay scene and looks very nice. Quote
peterholland Posted June 16 Posted June 16 many years ago I did have a problem at the welcome world beach hotel to take a boy from Cambodia. Because he could not show he was legal in Thailand. For me that was the reason not to go to this hotel again. And beware of the fact that many russian people stay in this hotel. Rent Boy 1 Quote
Londoner Posted June 16 Posted June 16 There are many Russians in Jomtien. On my list visit I entered a Jomtien Complex Estate Agents' office in my (so far unfulfilled) efforts to find us a suitable home in the area. To my surprise, it was Russian and its clientele was potential Russian ex-pats. The manager claimed he could build us a villa to our requirements in Jomtien; there must be big business in that market. How things change. Our first visit was six years ago and Agate's clientele then included many Chinese tour parties. Bizarrely, their coaches would arrive in the late evening and depart in the morning. One-nighters, it seemed. None of this bothers me; live and let live. As long as P and I can stroll into breakfast holding hands, as is our wont being deeply sentimental, I couldn't care less. There are always plenty of gay guests and many of the staff are gay. Agate has the friendliest and most helpful staff we've encountered in Thailand in hotels stretching from Chiang Rai to Krabi. I suppose I should add that wherever we go in Thailand, hotel staffs treat our rather Odd Couple with respect. mauRICE, BL8gPt, Ruthrieston and 1 other 4 Quote
Travellerdave Posted June 16 Posted June 16 In addition to the Zing Resort and Agate there are at least three other hotels in Supertown (The Complex), all of which are popular with gay guests with no problems with joiners. I once stayed at the Poseidon, which seemed to be 100% gay and having a Very good restaurent . BL8gPt 1 Quote

PeterRS Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Anyone know if Le Prive remains a gay owned mini-hotel? It is/was located on Thappraya Soi 1 and has/had six self-contained bungalows set around a pool. It has a bar and served an excellent breakfast but no other meals. I have not stayed for around 8 years. It was run by a gay French guy. The gate was locked at 10:00 pm each evening but guests were given keys to open the gate. Joiners were always welcome. Quote
Lotusleaf Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Staying at Welcome World now. No idea about joiners but you can enter from Dongtan beach and there is no security. The hotel main entry is via a long, long driveway from Thappraya Rd. Staying in a room overlooking the beach. Very nice. I would take a look at BB House which is just next to Welcome World. Looks promising. FunFifties 1 Quote

Lotusleaf Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Sorry but already have my boy so cannot complete assignment. Security seemed to be absent when returning at night but maybe lurking somewhere. Quote
Popular Post sasoon807 Posted June 18 Popular Post Posted June 18 I've stayed at Welcome World a couple of times. Last stay was in February together with friends. Never had any issue taking guys back to my room. Just walk past front desk, never saw that they questioned anybody about joiners. Rooms are a bit dated but clean. Location is great with direct access to the beach, also nice pool area. khaolakguy, vinapu, emiel1981 and 2 others 4 1 Quote
Nasherich Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Is Baan Souy, between Pattaya and Jomtien, still an option? That has an excellent pool area. Quote
gerefan Posted July 5 Posted July 5 They are building a monstrous block of flats immediately opposite Baan Souy. I believe it over 50 floors high with huge cranes on top. Apparently one fell off recently and the powers that be put a temporary stop on the work. As a guide I stay in Jomtien and you can see the top of it clearly above all else. Kiwi306 Posted Monday at 10:40 AM Posted Monday at 10:40 AM Last year I stayed at BBHOUSE, next to Welcome World. It's a budget hotel and if you pay at reception it doesn't seem to be any dearer than through Agoda. The cheaper rooms are basic, but they are quite large. But what I love about this hotel is that you can sit at the entrance, where you get a sea view and can watch all the people walking past. It's easy to walk over the road to the beach as the traffic is much lighter here. A short walk takes you to the baht bus route and also to Jomtien Plaza. I stayed at the Zing Resort and Spa initially, but the bed was too hard for my liking, so I ended up staying at BBHOUSE. tm_nyc and vinapu 2 Quote
Pinnacleore Posted Thursday at 03:53 AM Posted Thursday at 03:53 AM I got a room at Agate for the first week of November but they were largely full already. I got lucky. Quote

I got lucky. from my experience many hotels are releasing their rooms to different platforms and while on one website you may be out of luck, of another one or hotel own website rooms my be still available. Certainly it was my experience with certain hotel in Madrid last month, no luck on Agoda but I got what I wanted on booking.com few minutes later. Not to mention price difference sometimes on the same site. Just before covid I tried to co-ordinate lodging with one of our members in Asia. We both were looking at Agoda and price he got for the same room in the same hotel for the same dates was quite lower to a 40 vs. 50$ tune. In short it pays to do some shopping before committing, on another hand if one sees acceptable price for desired hotel my advice would be just grab and run. Quote
