a short visit

hi

intentinding to travel to bkk for a week in early october.

can anyone suggest any idea to maximise my time probably with couple of massages a day and then probably visit some host bar in the night. will someone enlighten me on the happening places in bkk with regard to both.

on your first day take a walk . Start at Silom and soi 6 at any time between  noon and midnight. Walk length of soi with dog leg bend in the middle until you arrive to Suriwong street. It may take all between 5 minutes and 10 hours depending if you stop or not at massage shops  and how many times. On Suriwong turn right and walk until you reach Patpong - always busy street  unless is depth of night . 

On that walk you will see enough massage shops and boys working in them to keep you occupied for weeks, not days. 

In the evening return to Patpong and go to the next, parallel  street 50 m away it's called Patpong2. By time you reach Foodland 150m  down the road you will pass 3 go-go bars and 2 host bars on your left, then 2 go-gos and your right and opposite to Foodland another host bar called ' Rainbow something"

That will furnish you with ideas how to spend your evenings. If it's not enough find two more go-gos in soi 4, Banana and Jupiter and Moonlight bit further down the Suriwong.

Bring cash, condoms , mouthwash and lube you can obtain locally.

Have fun and please report back.

Not to criticize you at beginning of your forum adventure but your question is too broad and should include time of your arrival and type of boys your fancy as offerings of Atlas and FreshBoys are light year apart even if bars are facing each other practically

WIth all respect to @khaolakguy, @rd2077 has made just this one post since his last one in 2017 (assuming the "activity" section of member's pages is accurate, which I feel certain it is). Even then he posted only twice in 2017 with the ones prior to that being in 2015. I'm sure you'll agree there has been a huge change in the Bangkok gay scene over the last 8 years and it is not unreasonable to get some new suggestions. On the other hand, if members like @vinapu take the time to provide very good information, the least @rd2077 should do is write a report on his visit.

Of course the scene has changed, but we get asked questions prior to the trips without getting any feedback in return.

I had a guy open a door 🚪 for me yesterday or should I say hold the door open as I was approaching , 

I could feel he expected a"thankyou" as I quickly passed through without even looking at him

oh man am i seeing some activity here...

@vinapu thanks for the warm suggestions but the end i did love it. yeah tastes and prefernces do wary and bottom line people have varying taste's. this time arround  i would love to post a report and let me see how i get on with it the major reason is i am more of a shy guy and hates to experiment. to get more valuable suggestions i am into lean athletic guys...

others are right i have asked this question earlier and had been to bkk twice and pattaya once but if i have my way will like to make my current beginning a fruitful one and let me see how far i am headed in expressing myself openly...

No better place to express yourself than in Thailand. No one knows you here so it is a safe space to be yourself. I'm usually shy in my 'real life' but not so much when in Thailand.

That's a fair point. I have been through all his earlier posts - all 21 prior to the 2 in this thread since 2013 - and there were quite a few other questions he sked on a number of issues, but when other members have posted replies to these and the travel queries, he never responds with even a "thanks".

rather than spend your time combing through old posts from bygone era you should start dusting off and vacuuming your place considering that Olddaddy and his boyfriend  are coming soon and that hammock on the balcony will not install itself.

With respect I think that comment is unfair. May I remind you that I was responding to @khaolakguy's point in his post above that this poster has asked before over several years for information about travelling to gay Thailand and never wrote trip reports. @khaolakguy made the negative comment, not me! Please read my first post in this thread when I pointed out that there have been many changes since that member's last post in 2017. 

After @khaolakguy responded, I wanted to satisfy myself that his is an accurate comment. It is. And I suggest if someone seeks information on this Board and as a result several members take the time to provide information based on their own experiences, I think a simple thank you is pure courtesy. Not to comment after receiving responses to specific questions is, frankly, bad manners, and I am sure you must agree.

I know I am very appreciative of the responses to my questions regarding my upcoming trip to Thailand in October.  On previous trips, other than flight reservations, my travel plans have been arranged by my straight friends so I really consider myself somewhat of a novice...especially when it comes to the gay scene.  I was finally able to venture out a little on my own last October and now am ready to 'fly solo' and make my own arrangements with the help of members here.  I am looking forward to sharing my experiences here as well.

In real life I am usually more quiet and reserved, but I am looking forward to stepping outside my comfort zone when I visit in October/November and experience all that gay Thailand has to offer.  I am probably going to be like the kid visiting a candy store for the very first time.  lol.  As for varying tastes, that is what makes life interesting I suppose.  Just like we all have different likes when it comes to food, clothes, art, music, etc., we also have different likes when it comes to our men.  I know many people here seem to like Arena and it sounds like it is always a sure thing, but I am not sure it is my cup of tea.  I am more into the twinks or some say twunks, but not so much into the muscular or very athletic type of guys.  Atlas probably wouldn't be the best go-go bar for me, either.  However, I need to explore and perhaps expand my tastes!

I have always found that one of the great joys of travel is you can step out of your comfort zone and nobody cares. You are usually well away from your home environment. All it takes is the willpower to see new places and try new things. Not everything will be to your liking but you will be surprised how much will satisfy your desires. Try lots of new experiences and enjoy your October/November trip.
