The only drama that interests me in Colombia is my daily intake of telenovelas.  But will be in town from January to end of March, exploring options now for la Semana Santa.

The weather is not helping, it is more rainy than usual. It is not only me, the locals are also complaining about it. However, this week I was able to enjoy A LOT a walk around the Jardin Botánico de Medellín. It is a beautiful park very well kept and with exotic flowers everywhere. There is also a lagoon with turtles and iguanas. I spent several hours walking around and loved it. Of course, I devoted sometime to listen to the birds' singing and my app helped me to identify two new species.

 

 

The entire park is designed to make a learning experience from your visit. There were too many little and big details to share, like for instance mirrors to observe the top of the trees without stressing your neck. I do share this feature that I found specially appealing.

Unfortunately, heavy rain caught me. Or fortunately, because I had to look for shelter and ended up in one of the two restaurants located inside the park. The food was good, but the drink was just gorgeous, one of the best strawberry daiquiris I ever tried.

It was delightful to have lunch on the restaurant deck, surrounded by nature and with the rain tapping on the awning. To give you an idea of how convenient local prices are, the bill, including the service, was only 23 bucks.

The park closes at 4pm, but I noticed modern lighting arrangements throughout the entire layout. They probably rent the place or organize night events. I imagine is astonishingly beautiful at night with those lighting designs. But I had to run away because I did not have repellent and the mosquitos were devouring me. 

I had planned to stop by Hotel Roma after my stroll, as it is located at walking distance from the Jardín Botánico. I called Fercho but he did not respond. As it was raining again, I called an Uber and went back home. When I was in the Uber Fercho called me back. This delay was just bad luck and very unusual. Since then we have talked and texted many, many times, and his responses have always been immediate. He was in Cali and was going to stay there for two weeks. I will give more details later in this post.

The other experience I enjoyed this week was the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín. The MAMM is across the street from my airbnb, so it is the perfect plan for these rainy days. 

I've been exploring also the eateries nearby my airbnb. Back in Recife I was concerned about my budget, but fortunately my free lance gig has provided me with some extra cash and I am not cooking as much as I was back in Brazil.

There is a local chain called Crepes & Waffles. Despite being a chain, the food is delicious and excellent quality.

Those two dishes and a water, just 14 bucks. 

But not all the places have great prices.

That trendy fast food place costed me almost 30 bucks, including a dessert you do not see in the pictures. And the burger was very nice looking but a flavor disappointment.

What I like the most is to walk a few blocks away from my place. You only have to walk two blocks to the North and you are back to Colombia, out of my gentrified hood. The surroundings are full of car dealers and car body shops, traces of what this area used to be before they started to build 30 stores towers with swimming pool and sauna. I wonder how long all those shops will be able to survive the raise in real state value. I like walking randomly and picking any popular bodega that shows up in my way.

Fried chicken and a water, seven bucks. I loved the authentic experience these places deliver. The waiters are not trained for the international neutral politeness, and their warm and welcoming demeanor is 100% sincere.

Going back to Fercho, he sent me an updated series of pictures with his offering, almost 100 pics and videos. Out of those, I chose seven and sent them to him with a preference order. I stressed to him that I wanted a guy who was into bottoming and passionate kissing. I made extra clear that I did not want a bottom for pay but a guy who actually enjoys doing it. Fercho told me that he was able to arrange a meeting with my choice #2.

When Fercho told me he was available, I told him how happy I was as I thought he was only top. Fercho responded that he worked as vers for him. So we closed the deal on Jeffrey. Fercho spelled it as Yefri. I asked him whether we could arrange a previous visit to the hotel as I wanted to know the facilities and pay the deposit. So on Thursday I planned to visit Hotel Roma and then walk up to Parque Bolivar, just 15 minutes away. There is a security guard outside the hotel, a not very nice old man, I think he hates his job and the whores place. He opened the doors for me and I met Alex, the guy who is managing the hotel for Fercho. The hotel is a refurnished old house that took me back to the 70s. The rooms are comfortable and with a private bathroom with showers, a mini fridge, a big screen TV, and a fan. There is no A/C. I paid the deposit to Alex and also bought 2 numbers for the raffle that Fercho holds, if you win you have a boy for an hour at the hotel. My date was for Friday at 1pm.

I can report that there are no boys hanging out in the place, and the brunch that our Colombia guru @macdaddi recommended has been discontinued. They work strictly with appointments. 

When I was ready to leave, Alex used a walky-talky to let the security guard know that I was in my way out. When I got to the front door the grumpy old man was already waiting for me. I asked him in what direction I should walk to go to Parque Bolivar and she just pointed with his finger without saying a word. Unfortunately, heavy rain started when I was half way to the parque and had to call an Uber. 

The following day, Friday, Fercho contacted me in the morning to confirm the appointment. I arrived 5 minutes before the time and Jeffrey was already there. I paid to Aex the rest of the money and he escorted me to the room. He asked me whether I wanted porn on the TV and I told him that I did not. But he insisted, telling me that the boy would need the porn. This was a first bad sign, as he was looking for straight porn on the TV. I sat to wait at the lobby, sipping a coffee served by Alex. I really felt like in a Time Machine. Not only the place was reminiscent from the 1970s architecture and decoration, but the entire situation reminded me of my 30th birthday. Back then there was no internet, and my hirings were street hustlers. For my birthday I decided to call one of the escorts agencies that used to advertise in Buenos Aires' newspapers. There was a section in the classified ads called Rubro 59. So if you go be aware that if you use their condoms or take any snacks or drinks, you will have to pay extra money, it is not for free.

As soon as I was in my Uber, Fercho called me to check how everything had been and to offer me another boy. It gave me peace of mind to notice that they do not expect you to continue meeting the boys through them once you are introduced. I think it is smart that they let it go, but I was concerned that we were somehow betraying them by arranging other meetings without them. They do not care, and that is great.

Finally a sunny day! It is a holiday here and took advantage of the beautiful weather to walk up to Paseo del Rio, an urban park kind of the High Line in Manhattan but here it is placed over the Rio Medellín. On November 26th they will inaugurate the Alumbrados (still a work on progress) from here and hopefully I will mingle with the crowd.

 

I was expecting more people, it was a sunny day after over a week of cloudiness and even heavy rain, and it was a holiday. However, very few people was around and I sat to get a snack in a cafe right in the middle of the Paseo that was empty. Not one customer besides me. I do not understand the locals.

Yesterday, Sunday, I met with Andres who delivered again. And besides sex, he delivered something else.

6 beautiful apanados. I had not smoked since I left Salvador, so since yesterday I am in the best of the worlds. We had time to chat, and his profile matches the standard "garoto de programa". 30 years old, based on his texting he is semi literate even when he told me that completed HS and started college, has a 10 years old daughter, lived for 9 years with his daughter's mother but got apart two years ago, spent three years in jail because of drugs dealing. The days are still cloudy and rainy, so when I get a sunny day and have no boy in my bed, I always try to walk around. These last days my most interesting excursion was to Cerro de Nutibara. On top of this hill you have the Museo de la Ciudad de Medellín and the famous Pueblito Paisa. As it is a truistic place I never visited it before, but now I have plenty of time.

As expected, the Pueblito Paisa is forgettable. I even tried one of the restaurants, and food as well as drinks were not good. The Museo de la Ciudad is also not special. The pleasure arrives when you walk away from the buildings and start exploring the sculptures and the gardens going down the hill. I loved it. I even found a place that seems to be taken from a fairies tale.

 

I do not think the video captures the magic, those stone made slides seemed imported from a Cartoons Universe.

I missed the Alumbrados inauguration last Friday and will probably miss tonight la Alborada, because I was and am too tired after hot encounters. I have been at the Hotel Roma three times. The second time the security guard was a very hot moreno, I wish I was less shy and would have made a move. Very hot.
