Popular Post joizy Posted Monday at 02:49 AM Popular Post Posted Monday at 02:49 AM I’ve been in Queretaro, Mexico for a week and wanted to give a short report. I’ve been getting a lot of hits on Grindr since the day I arrived. The problem is, I have become very picky in my old age, and most of the guys are not what I am looking for. The few who are my type, flaked out. In the past week, I’ve met two guys. A cute 21-year old, and a hot guy who said he was 28, but looked younger. There definitely is potential here if you are looking to meet people for fun, and are not as picky as I am. There are also guys on Mileroticos, and there is a men’s club - Cronos Men’s Club, with a sauna, steamroom, jacuzzi and gloryholes, near where I am staying. But, Queretaro is a wondeful place. It’s in central Mexico, north of Mexico City, about an hour south of San Miguel de Allende. In the highlands, it’s warm during the day and cool at night, about a 40 degree (F) temperature difference. Very comfortable. The people are super friendly. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site and the historic center is filled with beautiful buildings - ex-convents, churches, museums, and Porfirian-era mansions. There’s also a huge aqueduct built with pink stone. The food scene is solid and there are coffee shops and cafes everywhere, as well as plazas which are active day and night. It’s been a really fun trip and I’m fine with the fact that I haven’t really hooked up with that many people. My Airbnb is great - newly remodeled, 1-bedroom, a few blocks from the historic center. Nice bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, living room, and laundry area, averaged about $44/night, so it was super affordable. One of my retirement goals is to visit a new place in Mexico every year, and this was perfect. It doesn’t seem to be on the gringo/digital nomad radar yet, so if you’re looking for a place to hang out for a bit, check it out. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. Next, I’m going to try Durango, in the north. Maybe I’ll meet some hot cowboys. bkkmfj2648, PeterRS, donJ and 3 others 5 1 Quote
floridarob Posted Monday at 08:10 AM Posted Monday at 08:10 AM I've never been but have wanted to go visit and have thought about possibly moving there because the extreme heat in Merida Spring/summer is ridiculous. I was in some expat groups for there and a bunch of gringos moved there from here and like it, although my friends in Mexico City say I'd be too bored there. It has the highest average wage in Mexico because a lot of multi-nationals have their offices there, not in CDMX like you might think. Laid out similar to Merida, a historical centro and a newer, more modern area to the north, I've also heard that the narcos have been moving in all around the city and there is speculation that soon, they will be inside the city as well... who knows. I have a friend in California that's from Durango, a place you don't hear much about, even in Mexico. I've played map games with my local friends and none have a clue to where Durango is 😄 joizy 1 Quote
