And this is exactly what I said to one Pattaya expat last night in a Jomtien complex beer bar 🍺.

I was in no mood to listen to negativity 

He sat down near me and the conversation started well until he told me he had retired to Pattaya Yada Yada years , ( no idea what yada means ) but anyway you get my drift, probably a lot 

Then he goes into what a terrible place this is ..😡.and how the other expats are terrible people,he wished he could go back to his home country etc ,but sold his house , I presume in the UK , I didn't ask him because I couldn't get a word in !!   🗣️🗣️🗣️..non stop whinging...ahhh the old whinging pom quote ,oh don't be racist 

People are wanting money from him and not paying him back , he done favours for expats and when he asked for a favour they didn't, apparently some other expats was driving to Bangkok he did a favour for and he asked if he could get a ride but the guy said no room in his car 🚗 

They are making him go to some office every 90 days for a visa and he is not happy 😠

He is telling me see that expat over there ,don't talk to him etc 

It went on for 30 minutes before I shouted "If you don't like it ..... LEAVE!!!! LEAVE !!!!

He then looked shocked and said ," " your a nasty person ...and why you wearing your sunglasses at night? 😎...I then immediately launched into the 1980s song singing 🎵🎵I wear my sunglasses at night...so I can.. so I can ..see the light 🎵🎵🎶

"Your a fucking weirdo " he said 

👀 before grabbing his drink ( which he asked me to buy as he supposedly was going to buy the next round)  🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

" Takes one to know one ! I replied 

Anyway....I'm sick of negativity and negative people , enjoy your life and enjoy your time in Thailand, and if being an expat doesn't suit you then visit a few times a year and if that doesn't suit you ...there's always ALICE SPRINGS in Australia 🦘 🦘 

And ...if you don't like it.... LEAVE!

In my early Pattaya days, I was so enthralled with the place - I mean, endless sex with the guys - that I seriously considered buying a condo in Jomtien. I could retire here and just fuck 24/7.

I would usually go for a post-coital ciggie and a drink at one of the Sunee bars, and that's when reality struck.

I would find myself accosted by some expat and end up sitting there listening to his tales of woe  - how he hated the place, hated the beaches, hated the Thais, hated his fellow expats.....

Had it been just one person, I would have ignored him, but this was a common topic of conversation and frankly, I started to consider whether or not I should even go to these bars, as the talk was always depressing. When sitting away from the farang for a bit of peace, they would often come up, introduce themselves, sit down and start carrying on about their sad lives.

 Needless to say, I never bought a condo in Thailand. (I bought one in Bali instead, but that's a different story!)

I only kept it for a couple of years and then sold it  - but not because of the Aussie bogans. I just decided I didn't want to go to Bali any more.

But I almost doubled my money so, thank you Bali. I will always love you!

I saw one young farang sitting by himself at a 3 seat table so I walked over to him and I pointed at a seat opposite him "is anyone sitting there ? I asked

Was quieter than a normal Friday due to the start of the annual music festival over in Pattaya.

Sitting outside at the Mexican, who's 1 year birthday it was, so margarita's were BOGOF (buy one get one free), however as soon as the M2M bar show opposite started, legged it along with a few others as the volume was unbearable, and that's saying something; as having worked with Motörhead and a few others headbangers in the past, I'm slightly hard of hearing anyway.

Food good, margaritas too. Also local is Mike's Mexican, which I would rate above Buenos Mexican in the Complex.

Presumably the volume was even worse for customers in the bar watching the show? Yikes! This was one of the shows I had on my to-watch list when I visit next month.

He did but they would inevitably quarrel with one another and get booted out by the venue owner. Happened many times.

They have suspended speakers that point onto the street, hard to say what inside was like. Their opening number involved the dancers on the street, not inside. The volume most likely to grab everyone's attention.

Moved down to CockA2 where you could hold a conversation.
