Popular Post Londoner Posted Tuesday at 09:40 AM Popular Post Posted Tuesday at 09:40 AM This isn't a gay issue but I must recommend a visit to the charming village of Maekampong, an hour or so drive from Chiang Mai. My partner arranged this trip for me without explaining anything about it; he knew I'd like it and wanted to surprise me. He did. In short, it is situated in a beautiful, unspoiled and mountainous country and is distinguished by its wooden houses, tiny temple, numerous restaurants and a commitment to eco-tourism. I didn't see many other falang visitors but it is evidently popular with Thais. daydreamer, tm_nyc, PeterRS and 4 others 7 Quote
Moses Posted Wednesday at 06:44 AM Posted Wednesday at 06:44 AM It is located to the East from Chiang Mai. And if you will drive to West from Chiang Mai about the same distance, then you will visit villages of Hmong people. by the way you may also visit few waterfalls and Doi Inthanon (Thailand's highest point) with amazing views daydreamer and vinapu 2 Quote
Londoner Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Yes....on a clear day! We've been there three times; on one of those trips, we might as well have been in Bangkok so thick was the mist! Except for the fact that it was rather chilly, that is . Quote

I just recently visited Mae Kampong village, in January. If you drive, go early in the day, so you can find a parking spot. Parking is very limited in the small village. It's an easy drive to Mae Kampong from Chiang Mai, and it can be combined with a stop at the San Kamphaeng hot springs, as it's in the same direction from Chiang Mai. vinapu 1 Quote

It has at least two waterfalls. vinapu 1 Quote
