And now he has. So Pape is now predicting Trump's base will further degrade for two reasons. And to be clear what he means by that, the swing voters - young men, Hispanics and Blacks who were fed up with Biden thanks to inflation - are already lost, Pape says. He's talking about the roughly one third of Americans who are true blue MAGA folk. Gas prices will be one thing that just keeps slicing away at Trump's support.
