Members travguy Posted July 7 Members Posted July 7 Hi Folks: Last minute trip. Coming to Porto Alegre via Sao Paulo later this week, July 2026. Back from Rio. Looking for current advice especially for wintertime places to stay in Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo. I know Rio well enough, LOL. Nothing current mentioned for places to stay in P A. As for S P, Jardim Paulista and near Av Paulista have been mentioned both here and by folks I have met in the past. Any suggestions for just a few nights? P A and S P will be chilly at night and possibly during the day as well. Not sure if most airbnbs will have heating. Not an issue for hotels I assume. Buttercawan also noted a place or 2 to play in P A and it seems like only Lagoa is left for pay to play in S P. Any places like Sexy Rose in Rio? Porn cinemas / adult bookstores / gay cruising, indoors or outside, especially for P A, but also for S P? I enjoy pay for play rough trade too. I think most postings re S P were for summertime. But more difficult to know what to expect when folks need jackets to stay warm. Any info for a big gay dance place like Rio's The Home near centro (or whatever it calls itself now). I think there is one in S P, but no idea where or if I should check out another late night club for Saturday or Friday night in S P, or even P A. Any advice appreciated. Thx in advance. chicobalto 1 Quote
lopesv2 Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Hi. I don’t know a lot about PA. For SP: 1) location: stay near Paulista/Lagoa. the neighborhood is called Bela Cintra. an alternative would be Pinheiros or República if you are more adventurous. For a first time Bela Cintra/Jardins is better. 2) Sauna with GPs: Lagoa is the best(only?) one. Not sure if club555 is open/has GPs 3) Places with no GPs. sex clubs: Dedalos Upgrade Chili Pepper strip shows: hot house strip + drag shows Bar Queen Enjoy your trip! Quote
Members BrazilianBoiChaser Posted July 9 Members Posted July 9 In SP, the Python Club is still open, but it doesn't feature too many GP's; it still has the obligatory drag show and gogoboys. Additionally, Carlotta, the gogoboy procurer, also hosts events at his house or at various venues. I remember last year that it was typical for his house to operate like an after-hours spot when the saunas closed. Usually, he would have drinks and food for purchase, and there would be boys who were already there because they were staying in his makeshift hostel, or boys from the sauna would come by and eat with us, vying for more clients, etc. Just a chill after-party type of thing. In SP, they still have the cabins with gloryholes and cheap hustlers off Rua Aurora, the sex theatre, and other gloryholes not too far from Republic Park. As for accommodations, I usually stay in the Republica in an Airbnb that allows guests, but I have recently become infatuated with high-end love motels for their luxury and sexual amenities. Here is one located in the Republica I am considering: https://andardecimasuites.com.br/pt-BR/sao-paulo/espuma-copan/go?period=0622bca3-2dc1-4c50-9a43-42ad10b36670 . Also, just a note: in most places, they have an air conditioner split unit that also acts as a heater. For PA, unfortunately, I haven't been yet, but I want to go this year, so I am hoping you can provide a detailed experience when you go. Last I heard, the best GP sauna is Termas LUX ( Av. Pernambuco, 2765 - Bairro Floresta). Please give us an update when you go! Python Club (377 R. Members travguy Posted July 9 Author Members Posted July 9 Thx folks. I don't think I will be able to meet up with a non-gay friend in P A who I met from a prior trip in Rio. LOL. Weather in P A is not looking to be nice this weekend - rainy and chilly with highs of 16-17 (~ 60 F). I was also shocked by the very high airfares for short flights to S P and Rio. My routing has me landing in S P and hanging out for a few hours to clear customs and passport control before going to P A. Unless things change, I might just stay a few days in S P and drop the trip to P A. Between S P and Rio there are shared rides and buses taking 5-7+ hours to and from the bus stations and expensive 1-hour flights. Might be able to use air miles, but from P A to Rio there are very few non-stops and require more miles. My return flight is from Rio. As for stuff or who to do and where, very much appreciate the 2 postings above along with info from Pauleiro from 18 Nov 2024. So, spending the weekend in S P seems reasonable for now. Lots of places on airbnb for around $50/night and likely true for non-fancy hotels too in the Jardim / Paulista areas. I made summaries for P A from prior postings here and elsewhere on the web. 2 cruising places for daytime and 1 late night Dark Room place that seems to be mostly for hetero swingers. All found on generic google maps! Thx again everyone, for now.... Quote
