In SP, the Python Club is still open, but it doesn't feature too many GP's; it still has the obligatory drag show and gogoboys. Additionally, Carlotta, the gogoboy procurer, also hosts events at his house or at various venues. I remember last year that it was typical for his house to operate like an after-hours spot when the saunas closed. Usually, he would have drinks and food for purchase, and there would be boys who were already there because they were staying in his makeshift hostel, or boys from the sauna would come by and eat with us, vying for more clients, etc. Just a chill after-party type of thing. In SP, they still have the cabins with gloryholes and cheap hustlers off Rua Aurora, the sex theatre, and other gloryholes not too far from Republic Park. As for accommodations, I usually stay in the Republica in an Airbnb that allows guests, but I have recently become infatuated with high-end love motels for their luxury and sexual amenities. Also, just a note: in most places, they have an air conditioner split unit that also acts as a heater.
For PA, unfortunately, I haven't been yet, but I want to go this year, so I am hoping you can provide a detailed experience when you go. Last I heard, the best GP sauna is Termas LUX ( Av. Pernambuco, 2765 - Bairro Floresta). Please give us an update when you go!

Last minute trip. Coming to Porto Alegre via Sao Paulo later this week, July 2026. Back from Rio.
Looking for current advice especially for wintertime places to stay in Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo. I know Rio well enough, LOL. Nothing current mentioned for places to stay in P A. As for S P, Jardim Paulista and near Av Paulista have been mentioned both here and by folks I have met in the past. Any suggestions for just a few nights? P A and S P will be chilly at night and possibly during the day as well. Not sure if most airbnbs will have heating. Not an issue for hotels I assume. Buttercawan also noted a place or 2 to play in P A and it seems like only Lagoa is left for pay to play in S P. Any places like Sexy Rose in Rio? Porn cinemas / adult bookstores / gay cruising, indoors or outside, especially for P A, but also for S P? I enjoy pay for play rough trade too. I think most postings re S P were for summertime. But more difficult to know what to expect when folks need jackets to stay warm. Any info for a big gay dance place like Rio's The Home near centro (or whatever it calls itself now). I think there is one in S P, but no idea where or if I should check out another late night club for Saturday or Friday night in S P, or even P A. Any advice appreciated.

Brazil Speed-Run: São Paulo RecapHere's a quick summary of my latest trip to Brazil before I head to Montreal and piled up with even more stories. Since I’ve visited more places this time, I’ll be more detailed about the new locations I’ve been to for the first time. I’ll share more about those new places soon.
Visa, old passport vs new passport: I recently flew with Delta, and the process was surprisingly smooth. While all Americans at the counter were asked to present their Brazil visa check, the gate agent was completely fine with my new passport and never even asked for my old one. I still keep both passports as a backup, but I didn’t encounter any issues when I presented them at the Brazil counter either. They simply stated that I didn’t need my old passport. Lagoa Thermas: It was just as fun as ever on a Wednesday night. There were plenty of new faces joining the regular crowd, and the quality was pretty good in my opinion..... I met this newcomer from Recife — a gorgeous guy, very slim, with a swimmer’s body. We had a sort of boyfriend experience during my time at Lagoa, but I was clear that I would be having other programas. He was fine with that. I didn't see him with anyone else, though; one GP even asked me to have a threesome with the Recife guy. He said, and I quote, that the guy looked “gostoso.” That’s a big no-no for me. I don’t travel 10 hours by flight to share my gp, especially someone I felt such a connection with. I didn’t take him back to my hotel — I’m not really into overnight stays, I always find them awkward.  
However, the next day, I had my first Lagoa DP experience. Oh, boy — I was so overwhelmed, I teared up, but in a good way. I am not too much more than one. but it was fun. República (Daytime Cruising): Around 3:00 PM, I ventured out to scout a few spots. However, I cut fast by 4:00 PM to prepare for the Lagoa night run. It’s a daytime-only destination, so it’s definitely not a place that i wont  linger after dark. Upgrade: Lagoa and its programs have spoiled me, so my standards have dropped. I’ve become overly picky. That night, the interactive and non-interactive sections looked identical. Everyone appeared to be a patron, in their late forties and older. I stayed just for the curiosity. Wild Thermas Club in Higienópolis: It was better than I expected. But nothing extraordinary happened. The place was clean and well-organized. Doors opened at 3:00 PM, but the crowd was sparse. late forty to 60e Again, left to Lagoa that afternoon. Hot House SP: It was fuller than previous runs. The owner was as welcoming as ever. The dancers were mostly the usual ones, plus two new additions. I had a drink with one of them. There was only one interactive, and I didn’t like it, so I didn’t interact. However, there were three fully dressed guys  in a corner near the stage. One of them started suckinganother, but it was not too obvious, kind of discreet, but enough open that I could see them. I went back to my hotel, exhausted after Lagoa. The next day was my flight to Rio. I was just Wed to Sat in SP since my ultimate destiny was Rio Rio, more interesting:
Sunday, I finally went to Casa Boite. It was... interesting. I’d planned to hit Tapa NLa Cara before or salgadinhoafterward, but I was late, and honestly, many guys warned me against Tapa — said it’s not really a gay spot, more like a regular bar — so I skipped it.
Casa Boite felt like walking into a big favela patio — kind of like someone’s huge backyard. No reception, just a guy with a little lamp sitting on his phone next to a salgadinho counter. I paid with my phone and bought my beers tickets. Then there’s a big square in the middle, with a guy handing out beers from a big cooler butt.   and a few floors and open rooms you can see below. the place It’s definitely better with a group of friends standing alone felt awkward, kind of exposed.
There were more white guys than I expected, mostly in groups around the pool — though it wasn’t really being used. I didn’t see many rough guys, just two that fit that vibe. I went with each of them to the rooms, one at a time. The rooms were impossible dirty so  I stood up, not wanting to sit on the used sheets. Both offered me leite , and I took it. i didnt want to disappoint the locals 😛 
I mostly hung out with the rougher one However, he was actually pretty sweet, and we held hands. So I went looking for roughness, but got romance instead.
And here’s the funny part: I was surprised to see one of my regulars there. He’s one of the few I’ve shared overnight with whne i am in Rio ; I have all his info, and I even send a gift to his son’s birthday every year. Since we became regulars, he only goes to 117 — sometimes Point, but only to see me. I don’t know why he doesn’t like Point; maybe because it’s even farther from Bangu.
So I see a group of obvious clients, each with a GP, and right in the middle is my guy — hiding, which was kind of cute and funny. I didn’t bother to stare — I respect that he lives around there and might’ve been visiting his regular that day. But he looked so out of place in Casa Boite. He’s not the pretty boy type, but he’s very boyish very handsome, light skin, slim, tall, charismatic. 
I knew I’d see him again. After hanging out with my GP since there weren’t many other ones, I decided to leave. We’d like to visit again another trip. It’s not for the squeamish, and there’s no English, so I used my Spanish. since i still need to improve my portuguese.  Point 202: has improved its rooms and created a small lounge on the way to the upstairs showers. It’s also more lively than 117, but I always manage to find good ones. In April, they had free cabins on Mondays and Wednesdays — though I might be wrong about the second day having free cabins. 117 wasn’t as good as on other days. It was pretty slow, except for Tuesday when they offered free cabins. Still, I had fun with my regulars and a couple of new guys. The staff is incredibly nice and very friendly. ShowBar Oficial at Madureira: I finally found this place. The entrance is pretty funny; once you have the address or number, it’s a long corridor from the street to the door. It’s a tiny sex place, but when I went, there weren’t many people, so I can’t say how busy it gets. From what I saw, it’s probably not your muscle-boy kind of spot — more like a next-door mulatos kind of place.When you walk in, there’s a tiny booth to pay the entrance fee. Right after, there’s a small bar that takes up the entire space. To your left, there’s a small room with a TV playing porn. Beyond that, there are a couple of dark rooms. Since the place was pretty empty when I arrived, I left after a few minutes — not much to report. I might check it out again on another trip. Black Cat Lounge Bar  This was a new spot for me. It opened pretty late, starting at 11 pm, with interactives at 1 am and 3 am. Since it’s close to Copacabana Beach, it was easy to get to. I really liked it because it’s a nonGP place that’s also a bar and dance club, not too big, with a younger crowd, mostly in their 20s to 30s. I was one of the few older guys, but I didn’t feel out of place or excluded, which was a big plus.
The place is very, very loud — if you’re sensitive to loud music, I’d avoid it. But I didn’t mind; it added to the vibe, especially since the main purpose of the space is the dark room. It’s not that dark, though — there are some interesting stairs leading up to a larger, darker area. That upstairs section has sections that are pitch black and is non-stop sex, no invitations needed. 
I had a lot of fun. dance club / dark room place with so many guys in their 20s, I was a bit cautious at first. But after about half an hour, I was already having a great time upstairs. l’ll definitely go back on my next trip. Here’s the Twitter/X account with a pretty accurate layout of the place — I recommend checking it out to get a sense of how everything is set up. That was quite a long report — I wish I had more details, but everything’s a bit mixed up in my mind. Next stop: Montreal. I don’t have big expectations since Stock Bar has gone downhill, and Taboo isn’t what it used to be. I hope Campus is still fun to hang out at, though.

I’ve been swamped, and I thought  I posted this in a rush, but , I didn’t!  So here is again Also, I’ve got a long report saved as a draft, but I’m not great at keeping track . I’m hoping to find time to finish it before my Montreal trip 
After I watched the movie, I came up with this crazy idea about  where the Garoto de Programa storyline came from!
So, I’m thinking that the real inspiration for this movie might be Club 117. 
Here’s how the real Club 117 compares to the movie version:
In the movie, there’s a gay club called “Gloria” located at the same Rua Cândido Mendes. I don’t believe there’s a bar like that in Gloria, and even less likely, a bar with GPs. Additionally, the owner, a transgender woman, is called Monica instead of Monik, just like the owner of Club 117 isn’t crazy!  

Another dated, but very good movie is City of God released in  2002 about young men growing up in the slums of Rio. I remember the DVD at the time included a short documentary about young men growing up in the favelas and the government deliberately putting political prisoners in prisons with gang members with the expectation the intelllectuals would be tormented and murdered by the gangs. Unexpectedly the political prisoners educated the gang members on how government policies created their extreme poverty. But the biggest takeaway for me was a line about how teenagers could never earn enough money to buy brand name runners like Nike and Addidas without turning to crime. I tried to find the name of the doc on google, but couldn't.

Hi all. 
First stop: São Paulo. Typing from Lagoa. Great guys and not too crowded. Again. My taste: masculines top. Not too hairy and minimum tattoos. The money exchange is not the best. The Real is pretty strong, as strong as 4.97, so it is a bummer. 
For the first time, I took ppprs  with me. No problem at all. They were in my toiletries bag next to perfumes and creams.  I ordered them for 2 places: Twisted Beast (hit or miss ) and a place selling VCR cleaners lol . I decided to do it because how can one take those huge ones? I am not promoting just as anecdotal. 
I will be one week in SP. One week and a half in Rio. And. I am debating btwn Salvador or Curitiba.

Got rained out at the beach, LOL Eventually made it to 117. 1820-2230 hours ish. Show was unbearably loud and quite late. Met a forum member while chatting with a non forum friend, a bit before leaving. A very nice older tall black US guy (queen) who is retired in BR that I had not met before was enjoying champagne with his boyfriend from Bahia. Was invited to join and chat with them and he introduced me to Caio. Unfortunately, the sex was mostly mechanical. He did seem to enjoy the phone translated banter earlier on. Someone told me that Meio Mundo boys are only 100-, like Bangu.
The next 3 days were mostly uneventful per this Forum. I did go to the free Ensaios Tecnicos or pre Carnaval parade practice at the Sambadromo Friday night. It started pouring rain again for the first of the 4 groups. It is a far cry from the spectacle of the real deal that begins around the few days before Carnaval Tuesday and the Campeus or Champions Parade that follows, the next Saturday night, Sunday am. I did not know that the M would be open at the 2 nearby stations until this ended, so I left early around MN to avoid what I thought might be a high cab fare vs trying to get on a bus later on. I do speak some PT and had no issue entering Setor 6 about in the middle of the stadium. Umbrellas or ponchos (kappa) were needed.
Due to mild sunburn Friday and work issues, I had a slow start to Saturday. Should have been a great day. But wanted to avoid the sun. I went out after more heavy downpours that night and was quite surprised that Copa was as dead as I have ever seen it. Should have gone to Lapa and Centro which apparently were quite busy. Did see the paparazzi and unknown BR celebrities arriving for the Vogue Ball (some all costumed up) at the Copa Palace Hotel. Maybe I just needed a day off.
Sunday 8 Feb 2026
Busy day despite some rain. Went to the Hippie Fair and saw many folks dressed up in Carnaval costumes in Ipanema. Did not see any in Copa Saturday night. Lots of hot guys, I mean super hot hot guys that make typical surfer dudes seem like Homer Simpson, LOL. Met some great guys at the gay beach, from Toronto and NYC. Then it poured rain again. Went to Teatro Claro it is on the 2nd floor of a large shopping center that is just north of M Siquiera Campos in a very non descript building. On the way to 202 we have passed it a million times, but never noticed it. Saw a great musical play about the life of BR musician Djavan. A bit of an epiphany in that even with my limited PT abilities, I was able to sort out most of the play. The audience knew most of the songs by heart. It was pouring as the play let out at 2100 hours. Another bad day using the hook up apps, nada x 2. I have never had this much bad luck before. However, I have turned down several GPs that were either not my type or I felt uncomfortable.
Another note for folks new to this forum or BR: tons of police to be seen when you are out in Rio. It is quite normal here, so not an issue.

Morning was consumed with return trip and other issues. Sexy Rose was slow. Went to the sort of poor soft opening of a French “something or other” exhibit at the national library by the Cinelandia Metro. Almost nothing to see. But a lovely building. Folks were handling some of the books with gloves on. Many of the people I saw there were speaking in FR.
Despite quite a rain, I finally made it to Meio Mundo, after stopping to eat near Confiteria Columbo. Difficult to assess what I experienced vs a more normal night due the rain which was causing nearby flooding. It only flooded at the front door when I was leaving. Unlike 117, you cannot hear the rain inside M M. Met multiple BR regulars who were very nice to me. They did mention Bangu, starting around 1500 hours. Also noted another place whose name I did not sort out, but they said it translates from PT to EN as slap your face. Maybe, per translator, ??Dá um tapa na sua cara (or something like that). Because, this might be in local vernacular, I have no idea what the place is called or where it is :(( There were only 2 GPs of interest to me. I had one and the other was busy with other clients. The guy I had ended up being weird. He started by sucking me and kissing nicely where we met. We agreed on a price, 150 RS, but maybe could have been lower, ?? In the room, he did not suck much and wanted me to suck on his forearm and elbow area, plus an occasional finger. Was not into me sucking him or kissing much in the room. As a bottom he was loose and not into standard receptive positions, LOL. When he came, it was like 2 drops. Also tried to change the deal a bit in the room for additional services, but nothing major. He gave me his whats app and said a private session would be much hotter someplace else. I guess I will never find out. Some of the guys were a bit like Bangu guys, some were not – fewer tattoos and some were a bit more muscular, but not like 117. I did not note any being at both places, but could easily be wrong as there seemed to be many different guys at Bangu each Sunday. Couple of larger black guys with huge ones at M M. Once I said I was ativo, they quickly scampered away. Several other GPs came and said hi to me and some spoke more, though very limited, EN than guys at 117 or 202. Was at MM from about 1815-2030 hours. Missed the show and do not know when it was scheduled for. God only knows what I stepped in near the flooded entry to M M as I left. The rain was mostly done for a while. Another app date fizzled later on.
Overall, I would say that Bangu eats away a great deal of time on Sunday. Best if you are looking for multiple possible encounters with street guy next door types with a few tats and you need to be able to do basic hook up chat with the guys. Translators will help. The guys at M M tended to be thin and short. Twink ish. There are no room charges at Bangu. Monday entry and 1 room at M M was 105 RS. Very reasonable vs 117 and 202. No idea what the breakdown is. My issues with transportation to Bangu were rain related. Main reason for not going on 8 Feb. However, it might not have been as big an issue as the week before and the BR guys I met at M M did not mention any issues getting to or coming back from Bangu.
Per comments, I don’t think I have ADHD, but I do keep track of business expenses and keep a diary too. I do enjoy looking back sometimes. So keeping up with these travel dalliances is easy for me. Generally not into special substances and as for Mr Joyce, I haven’t 1% of his literary talent. But I do thank KA and the many others here for their comments. As for the CPF, when I got it in June 2023, it was all done online. I might have had to redo the form along the way. Took a week or 2 as I remember. I followed a great set of instructions found on the web. Perhaps things have greatly changed since then.

I was there last Sunday and it was mostly dead, there were some boys but no one outstanding. Last Tuesday was very good though.
 
Can anyone confirm if 117 is good on Thursdays these days? It is marked as Very Good in the calendar shared but I recall being there once and it being kind of empty. 

Update, Friday 30 January 26 am in Rio.
Monday: sunny and partly cloudy at the beach. Got a bit red. Just beware that it takes time to “develop” and if you even seem the slightest bit pink or red at the beach, you are likely to see quite a burn by the next day. So limit your time in the sun, even with sunblock or if it is cloudy. Latest day for me at Sexy Rose from 1815-2015 hours, but had fun. So skipped Meio Mundo, etc., due to the time.
Tuesday: had a bit of fun at 117. Stayed from about 1745-2030 hours. Half hour or so wait for rooms around 2045 hours. Bit of an issue for a horny top, LOL Was with Bruno from Sao Paulo who was visiting Rio for a few days and I guess needed R$ to help pay the cost of his trip. My skin was fine with being massaged despite a bit of pinkness from the sun on Monday. After the show, many folks left and several of us left late deciding that among the few GPs left any desperation cum on their part might not be worth it to us.
Wednesday: AC had to be replaced at BNB. So, a delayed but lovely trip to Niteroi and the MAC museum, the flying saucer. The restaurant there was excellent. Take the M to Carioca, then walk 5-10 minutes to the ferry terminal. In Niteroi you can walk 30 minutes to the museum or take a bus to near the museum. Lots of shopping in Niteroi. Prices tend to be much better than in Rio, but not always. Crossing back to the Niteroi ferry terminal from centro around 1715 hours a saw a young thin guy and we made eye contact as I crossed the street for the ferry - a missed opportunity, maybe, lol. Ended up late at 202 from 1900-2130 and left during a good but delayed show – I was just too tired and hungry. Some nice-looking GPs, but mostly tops. A few GPs were “distracted” on their phones. Chatted with a forum member at 202.
Thursday: Slow day at Sexy Rose from 1535-1835 hours. Quite dead before 1730 !! But I did do the hottest guy there, pays to advertise a boner sometimes. Another super hot guy too came a bit later on. They were both as good looking as the hottest GPs at 117 or 202. The guy I did was a not a tight bottom, LOL The other hottie seemed to like younger muscle twinky types. Either guy would do well anyplace, so just our luck at S R.
Friday: after multiple sunny days, it is cloudy this am. Have to change places today.
There was a comment about the lack of nightlife in Ipanema, especially vs many years ago. So true. But there are many nice, though tiny places to have a drink scattered about. Seems like Lapa had by far the most nightlife - like clubs, packed bars, and such, but the gay places on Mem de Sa seem sad vs the straight hook up clubs for young folks. Also, the gay places in Lapa on Friday or Saturday night a year or 2 ago were pretty dead through midnight and many of us on the forum here are not party animals around 0200-0400 hours. Copa has some nightlife. The fancy dress up and pick up bars in Leblon are also very nice, but mostly straight. I described my no go at Pink Flamingo in a prior post.

I wanted to add this as a separate post. Accommodations are much more expensive than pre COVID. In Rio, places are much harder to find than during December 2024, just over a year ago, even at a higher cost. Perhaps due to summer travel and the post COVID tourist boom. The mass of tourists was also true 3 months ago in October 2025 in Barcelona, Venice, Florence (and Rome). So. you will have to consider booking in advance if possible. I prefer to book at the last minute to have more travel freedom. When you see a mini split AC unit it will likely be fairly quiet, but some of the full in wall AC units can be painfully loud and they often rattle adjacent windows loudly. That is one reason why I left my first place as soon as the booking was over. Also, why I often book only 2-3 nights as a time. Second is true to pics, and yes, they lie: this place is painfully small. So please, check the apt pics carefully. 
Inflation: I think a Metro or bus ticket was 4.30 R$ in 2018 or so. M is 7.90 R$ now. Coconuts at street vendors have doubled from 6 to 12 R$ in the last 1-2 years. So yes, doubling of some prices. No idea how locals survive this.
First host warned me regarding thefts: under 18 yo robbers are unlikely to be prosecuted and iphones are preferred object to steal. Also beware of motocycle folks grabbing your stuff. In brief, flash and show nothing and try to look like a local as much as possible. Even at Bangu, one of the GPs jokingly tried grabbing my non iphone from my pocket. I think it was to warn me to put it away unless translating to PT.
Also, FYI, mosquitos and other bugs are out. Though not severely.      That is all for now .....  

Hello Folks:
After trying for weeks, finally arrived, LOL. Not sure if I will stay here for 2 weeks or head elsewhere like Sao Paulo, Tiradentes, etc. I went to Sexy Rose after arriving Friday, yesterday. I was there from around 1500-1815 hours. Very busy when I left happy. But lots of folks of most any non 20 yo twink type when I was there. Highly recommended as in the past. For those thinking of coming to Brazil: Don't be put off by weather reports which note rainy days, as it is mostly sunny, or cloudy with occasional rain, as is common in tropical summers. Again, mostly sunny/. Might go to the Hole or Home or whatever it is called now later Saturday night if I can find any info. If not, maybe Taurus in Lapa. Will likely do the Hippy Fair in Ipanema and ealy pm beach Sunday, followed by Gloria market and bandas-if any, followed by Bangu Sauna, maybe 1500-1800 hours.

First time ever in Río. Didnt booked a place neither 😂 but let's see how it turns out

Peter, cannot comment on SP, however, my apartment is in Bairro Peixoto. This is a small neighborhood 5 minutes from Point. It is a little gem in the middle of ugly Copa. Very quiet because there are no through streets. Older apartments surrounding a park that is used by the locals, with playground and the feira livre that travels around the city is there Wednesdays.  If you can find a place in Peixoto I don't think you will be disappointed.  (And, close to Siqueira Campos metro station so you can easily get to 117 or the better beaches of Ipanema.

Anyway for my first evening in Rio I had booked Lucas Lucas.  He had several profiles and one or two reviews and he looked very professional.   I liked the fact that his profile showed him going at it with overweigh clients, not just his beautiful peers.  There was a risk from ordering him for the night in advance. But I reckoned if there wasn’t any chemistry I would pay him for a session and then send him on his way.
So I arrived at 6.15 on a Friday morning having had very little sleep and the tropical heat was fabulous but enervating as well.  I had arranged for early check-in and I had originally envisaged getting some sleep.   But all the anticipation and seeing all the fantastic bodies from my uber on my way to the apartment,  I just felt so excited and horny.  I forgot about all my plans.  I messaged one of the guys who I had been in contact with beforehand and who knew what to expect.  To my amazement he responded immediately and was in my apartment 55 minutes later.   I would say he was in his late 20s early 30s though his profile suggested much younger.  https://garotocomlocal.com.br/acompanhante-masculino/luan-mattos/
He was the most shredded of all the GPs I “liaised” with.  And best of all no tattoos.  His charge was 250 R$.   The second lowest I paid whilst there.  I don’t think he was very experienced.  And it was a little rushed.   But he kissed and he offered his hole up in a variety of positions willingly.  He was definitely my bit of rough whilst I was out there.   He raided my fridge without asking and seemed to be constantly amused that a man my age would want to have sex   But he had a kindness about him despite his bluster.  
So with some difficulty I stayed up until 22.00 to help adjust my body clock. The next day Manu took me for a tour.   I had asked to avoid the obvious tourist traps.  The great benefit of hiring Manu is not so much for the tour.   But in orientating you to Rio and its gay life.   He helped me find a suitable AirBNB with a tolerant concierge and to understand how to navigate the city and how to use the metro and tram.   And of course to take me to Club 117.   I would never have had the courage to attend on my own.
